Procédé de préparation d'articles de courrier comportant à la fois une empreinte postale constituant une valeur monétaire et un marquage de service représentatif d'un service associé à un article de courrier déterminé, procédé caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte les étapes suivantes : a) établissement d'une connexion avec le réseau Internet (10) depuis un terminal informatique (12) d'un utilisateur, b) accès à un serveur informatique (16) hébergeant le site WEB d'un tiers identifié chargé de la préparation des articles de courrier, c) consultation au terminal informatique de l'utilisateur d'une page de présentation générale dudit site WEB du tiers identifié relative audit service, d) lors d'un premier accès audit service, fourniture par ledit serveur informatique du tiers identifié d'un nom d'utilisateur et d'un mot de passe en contrepartie de la communication par l'utilisateur d'informations déterminées, e) lors des accès ultérieurs audit service, entrée au terminal informatique de l'utilisateur du nom d'utilisateur et du mot de passe reçus lors dudit premier accès, f) affichage au terminal informatique de l'utilisateur d'une page de présentation personnelle relative audit service et spécifique à l'utilisateur, g) sélection au terminal informatique de l'utilisateur d'un produit postal proposé sur ladite page de présentation personnelle parmi ceux du groupe comportant la lettre suivie, la lettre recommandée suivie et la lettre recommandée suivie avec avis de réception, h) affichage au terminal informatique de l'utilisateur d'un écran de saisie relatif au produit postal sélectionné, i) saisie au terminal informatique de l'utilisateur d'informations déterminées nécessaires à l'expédition d'un article de courrier, j) attribution par le serveur informatique du tiers identifié d'un numéro séquentiel unique associé à l'article de courrier à expédier, et k) impression, par une imprimante standard (14) reliée audit terminal informatique, du marquage de service incorporant ledit numéro séquentiel unique et un identificateur du produit postal sélectionné.
