Description

The present invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a obstacle detector for openings.

Motor vehicles are commonly fitted with window regulators with a electric drive. In this case, standards impose that the race of the window stops when there is an obstacle.

Solutions for obstacle detection have been proposed. For example, the document US-A-5 955 854 describes an optical anti-pinch system where each window has a detection system. The downside of this solution is that it is expensive because it leads to the multiplication of detection systems.

There is therefore a need for a simpler obstacle detection system and less expensive.

For this, the invention provides a vehicle comprising on the same face two movable doors, and a single obstacle detector for the two doors.

According to one embodiment, the opening elements are movable in their respective opening up to a closing contact line, the obstacle detector comprising
  • a light sensor covering the closing contact lines,
  • a time analysis circuit for the light received by the sensor, the analysis circuit being adapted to compare the distribution of the light received by the sensor with a reference distribution.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following detailed description of embodiments of the invention, given as example only and with reference to the single figure which shows a schematic representation of a vehicle face in which the invention can be Implementation.

The invention relates to a vehicle comprising a single detector obstacle for two movable openings on the same side of the vehicle. So the same detector detects an obstacle present on the path of one or other of the openings in motion, which reduces the installation costs of a pinch protection.

The figure is a schematic representation of a vehicle face in which the invention can be implemented. There are two movable openings 6, 7, such as windows, on the same side of the vehicle. The vehicle also includes a unique obstacle detector 14 for the two openings. By face is meant as much a side of the vehicle that its roof comprising two openings.

Par ailleurs, on a représenté sur la figure un obstacle 12, au voisinage de ce bord supérieur 10.The opening 6 may be the front opening in the forward direction of the vehicle, and the opening 7, the rear opening. The figure shows the lower parts 2 and 3 of the vehicle body, respectively under the openings of the front doors 6 and rear 7 of the vehicle. The openings are for example made mobile by the action of a electric window regulator, so as to free openings 4 and 5 by their movement towards the lower parts 2 and 3 of the body; the upper edges 8 and 9 of sashes 6 and 7 are shown in the figure, in a position close to the position full opening opening. The opening movement can be linear or no. In particular, the movement of the rear leaf 7 may be non-linear, such as that this is the case for convertible type vehicles. Appears in bold lines on the shows the upper edge 10 of the openings 4 and 5. Furthermore, there is shown on the there is an obstacle 12, in the vicinity of this upper edge 10.

Thus, a single detector 14 is provided to detect the presence of an obstacle for a plurality of openings, in this case for one or other of the openings 6, 7; detection by the detector 14 of an obstacle such as a hand during the ascent of one of the doors, interrupts the movement of the window regulator, or even reverses the movement. The detector can be integrated into an anti-pinch device; the the presence of a single detector makes the installation of the anti-pinch device less expensive. When at least one or the other of the openings is in a position releasing one of the openings 4, 5, the detector 14 scans this opening to detect the presence of an obstacle. If the detector detects the presence of an obstacle while the door is closed, the movement of the door is interrupted, or even reversed, to avoid pinching the obstacle. Movements opening and their interruption, even their reversal, are independent of a opening to the other.

The lower parts 2 and 3 of the body can both be lower door parts; the lower parts 2 and 3 may or may not be surmounted by a window frame. Alternatively, only the lower part 2 before is a door of a "three door" type vehicle, the lower rear part 3 not being mobile.

The openings 7, 8 can each be movable in a separate opening one from the other. The openings are for example separated by a center leg, between doors and forming the body frame.

Preferably, the openings 7, 8 can be movable in an opening common. The openings 4 and 5 are then not separated by a center leg. When the doors are in the retracted position in the lower parts 2 and 3, the vehicle then has a single opening extending along one side of the vehicle. This facilitates the detection of an obstacle by the single detector 14 for the two openings. The two openings 6, 7 can for example be adjacent along a seal 11. When the openings 6 and 7 are in the raised position up to the upper edge 10, the seal 11 ensures the continuity of the seal between the two openings. The seal It ensures sealing between the two openings 6, 7 without interfering in the detection of the obstacle by the detector 14. From preferably, the seal 11 is integral with the rear opening 7. This is advantageous when the rear opening has a non-linear movement, the seal 11 closing off the window passage at the top of the lower part 3 when the window is retracted or tilted in the lower part.

The detector is, in the example of the figure, arranged at the front corner lower opening 4, which corresponds substantially to the point of attachment of a mirror. The position and orientation of the detector depend on those of the door before. The detector being positioned in the plane of the opening, the detector setting to detect an obstacle across the opening cleared by the opening, is facilitated. It is also possible to place the detector at the lower rear corner of opening 5; this is particularly advantageous when the vehicle is of type three doors because the lower rear part 3 is stationary making detection by the detector independent of the movements of the front door. Alternatively, the detector can be carried by the vehicle rear view mirror. Thus, the detector is deported towards the outside of the vehicle, thereby reducing the blind spots in which the detector cannot detect the presence of an obstacle due to the presence of the middle foot for example. Also, it is possible that the detector is worn by the vehicle dashboard. The advantage is to make detection by the independent detector of the movements of the lower parts 2 and 3 when these parts are doors.

In the event that the sensor is carried by the lower part 2 which is one front doors of the vehicle, it may be advantageous for the door to open blocks the closing movement of the rear door 7. Indeed, when the door front is open, the detector's field of vision is deflected and no longer has the rear opening 7, nor the opening 5 released by the opening. Detection of presence of an obstacle across the opening 5 is no longer possible and it is therefore preferable to block any command to raise the rear sash 7.

The obstacle detector may include a light sensor covering the closing contact lines and a circuit for temporal analysis of the light received by the sensor, the analysis circuit being suitable for comparing the distribution of the light received by the sensor with a distribution reference. The variation in the light distribution is representative of the presence of an obstacle. The detector "looks" at an angular surface or sector angular 18 substantially vertical; this angular surface covers the part of the opening 4 limited by the upper edge 10 on the one hand and by a half-line 18 from detector 14 on the other hand. In other words, the optical detector covers in the plane of the opening - or in the plane of the openings 6, 7 - a neighboring surface from the top edge. This surface is that in which the pinch must be detected; indeed, it is not necessary to detect the presence of an obstacle in the vicinity of the lower edge of the openings 4, 5.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described by way of example. Obstacle detection applies not only for windows, as explained above, but also for other types of mobile windows, like for example sunroofs with motorized drive.
