Definitions

  • the invention is based on the problem, transparent luminaire covers - whether clear-transparent or in combination with a structuring - to be designed so that an optimal, glare-free light scattering is achieved without affecting the luminous efficacy.
  • This problem is solved with the features of claim 1.
  • the luminaire cover has at least on the outer surface in the area above the light source, one or more convex elevations which, with the luminaire assembled and switched on, ensure that the light rays from the underlying light source (s) are distributed evenly and without glare, without limiting the luminous efficacy.

Abstract

Transparent cover comprises a convex protrusion located over each luminescent lamp. Preferred Features: Reinforcing ribs are arranged between the side surfaces and holding surfaces. Holding pins for hood holding straps are arranged on the side surfaces.

Description

For explosion-proof lights exist so far transparent covers made of plastic or glass, which are either transparent or in a variety of ways - by ribbing, ribbing, matting, etc. - are structured. In the second case, the respective patterning causes the light rays of the light sources (e.g., fluorescent lamps) behind the cover to be scattered while avoiding glare. However, these constructions also mean that the light rays are strongly refracted by structuring to achieve the intended effects, and this inevitably leads to some loss in light output.

From the published patent application DE 29 42 995 A1 an explosion-proof lamp cover is known, consisting of a transparent plastic hollow body, which is divided by conductive grounded strips in narrow zones or fields.
A device for refraction of light beams of a light source to prisms or lens structures is shown in the document DE 42 22 897 A1.

The invention is based on the problem, transparent luminaire covers - whether clear-transparent or in combination with a structuring - to be designed so that an optimal, glare-free light scattering is achieved without affecting the luminous efficacy.
This problem is solved with the features of claim 1. The luminaire cover has at least on the outer surface in the area above the light source, one or more convex elevations which, with the luminaire assembled and switched on, ensure that the light rays from the underlying light source (s) are distributed evenly and without glare, without limiting the luminous efficacy.

An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings using the example of an explosion-proof field lamp and will be described in more detail below.
  • Figure 1 shows schematically in cross-section a structured transparent luminaire cover with convex elevations on the outer surface.
  • Figure 2 shows schematically the structure of an explosion-proof field lamp with a clear-transparent cover with convex elevations.

The luminaire consists essentially of the housing 1 with built-in electronics, the reflector 2 with fluorescent lamps (light sources) 3 and the clear-transparent cover 4 with convex elevations. The cover 4 is attached to the housing 1 via retaining surfaces 6 and arranged on the housing 1 locking rails 7. So that the cover 4 does not fall off in the disassembled state, hood holding tabs, not shown, on the holding pins 8 and in the housing. 1 are attached.
