Description

The invention relates to a method for producing pigment-containing products, esp. Colors, primers, plasters u. Like., In which a pigment concentrate is added from a metering a predetermined amount of a base material and mixed with it.

Such methods are, for example, for the manufacture of building materials in the form of paints, primers, plasters u. Like. Used. The color of the building materials is determined by the pigment composition and pigment concentration in the base material. Basically, with such methods, both mineral products in which the Base material is available as dry bagged goods, as well as pasty products in which the finished products are available as bucket goods, are produced. Mineral products in which the pulverulent pigments are mixed at the factory with pulverulent carrier materials are mixed and processed at the place of processing with mixing water. In this case, the pulverulent pigments are blended with the carrier material at the factory and filled into sacks. In pasty products, the base material is colored according to given colors with suitable dosing using suitable pigment concentrates. In this process, suitable pigment concentrates are metered into a prefabricated base container by means of a volumetric or gravimetric metering method on defined amounts of base material. In the production of a plurality of containers with the same coloration so an exact reproducibility can be achieved.

In practice, the pigment-containing products are requested by the processor in the required quantity from the manufacturer, manufactured and delivered according to the color specifications of the processor. However, in many cases, the required amount of pigment-containing products is not exactly known, because the substrate and processing method significantly influence the consumption quantities and an exact oversize of the surfaces to be provided with the pigment-containing products is often not available. If, under these circumstances, the processor orders too little material from the manufacturer, it may be necessary to reorder the material, which has to be remixed according to the manufacturer's color requirements. This is associated with a high loss of time and thereby incurred costs. If, on the other hand, the processor requests too much pigment-containing products from the manufacturer, the product made according to specific customer color requirements can not be used at other processing locations and must then be disposed of. This is also associated with high costs.

In view of these problems in the prior art, in connection with the production of mineral products, it has already been proposed to fill the quantity of pigment required per bag into a bag and to mix it with the contents of the bag with mixing water by the processor on site. In connection with the production of pasty products, it has already been proposed to fill pigment concentrates for base colors in beakers or similar containers and to add them to the base material at the processing location. In both known methods, however, there are problems with respect to the reproducibility of the predetermined hues.

In view of these problems in the prior art, the invention has for its object to provide a method for producing pigment-containing products, with which any color tones can be produced quickly, reliably and inexpensively. According to the invention this object is achieved by a development of the known method, which is characterized essentially in that for the preparation of the pigment concentrate a first pigment-containing base and a second preferably also pigment-containing base filled in the dosing and the base materials are mixed together in the dosing.

In this solution, therefore, the production of a pigment concentrate with the desired pigment mixture takes place in the metering container itself, so that it is not necessary to resort to bottoms or base colors filled into individual metering containers. The pigment mixture thus produced in the dosing can be fed to the base material at the processing site and mixed with conventional mixing devices customary in the field, such as mixing mixers in the form of rotary-type drilling machines. The invention is based on the finding that it is in the known processes for the production of mineral products to Agglomeratbildung of pigments or clumping of the pigments can occur, which influence the coloring. When processing on the facade, streaks or streaks may form. This problem is solved by the mixture of pigment-containing raw materials in the dosing and the inventive use of the color pastes thus obtained for the production of pigment-containing products. It has further been recognized that problems arise in the conventional processes for producing pasty products when using pigment concentrates or color mixtures filled in beakers or similar containers, when a desired hue requires special pigment mixtures in which only small amounts of a type of pigment are required, which may be required . can not be driven out of the container. This will be explained below with the help of a bright apricot:

To prepare such a hue, 5.0 ml of yellow pigments may be mixed with 0.2 ml of red pigments. Even if only a small part of the red pigment does not get into the base material, the color is yellowish, but not apricot-colored. This deficiency is remedied in the method according to the invention in that the pigment-containing raw materials are already mixed together in the dosing, so that no change in the color mixture takes place when a small remainder of the mixed in the dosing tank raw materials is not expelled. The pigment-containing base materials may already be in the form of pasty products. It may be dissolved in a carrier solution pigments.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a pigment-free base material is first filled into the dosing and only then added the pigment-containing raw materials. This can prevent the pigments from settling in the bottom region of the dosing container and from the following mixing process in full take part. Thus, a particularly reliable production of predetermined tints is achieved. The settling of the pigments at the bottom of the dosing can be particularly reliably prevented when the pigment-free base has a greater density than the pigment-containing base materials, so that when charging the dosing a heterogeneous mixture is formed therein. The pigment-free base may be a binderless and pigment-free "paint" comprising water, thickening agents, preservatives, wetting agents, defoaming agents and / or inorganic fillers. The density of the pigment-free base material is preferably more than 1.5 g / cm 3 , esp. More than 2.0 g / cm 3 , more preferably about 2.2 g / cm 3 , while the viscosity may be 2000 mPa.s. The pigment-containing base materials advantageously have a density of 1.05 g / cm 3 to about 2.2 g / cm 3 , wherein these base materials may have a viscosity of 2000 mPa.s. The pigment-containing base materials may comprise water, wetting agents, preservatives, thickeners and / or defoaming agents.

To avoid the deposition of pigments on an upper boundary surface of the dosing during the mixing process may be provided in a preferred embodiment of the invention that the dosing is filled after filling the pigment-containing raw materials with a pigment-free base material of lower density. The metering container may have a filling volume of 0.5 to 1100 ml or more, wherein to allow complete mixing of the raw materials filling up to max. 90% of the filling volume, preferably up to max. 80% of the filling volume of the dosing tank takes place.

In a particularly simple embodiment of the invention, the metering container is realized by a tubular bag, preferably made of a transparent bag material. To obtain a thorough mixing of the raw materials, the tubular bag is first closed after charging with the raw materials and then filled with air. This can be done with the help of a suitable pump or a suitable compressor via a needle air or other suitable gas filled in the tubular bag and then od the damaged area of the tubular bag with a label. The like. Be closed. The emptying of the pigment concentrate from a metering container realized in the form of a tubular bag can be carried out using a suitable squeezing device. This achieves almost complete emptying, with max. 0.5% of the pigment mixture remain in the tubular bag. This residue remaining in the tubular bag has no discernible influence on the tint of the pigment-containing products obtained using the pigment concentrate, because previously a complete mixing of the pigments has already taken place, so that the risk of remaining individual pigments, which may be added only in small amounts, is excluded becomes.

In another embodiment of the invention, the dosing has a syringe barrel having a piston opening and an outlet opening, wherein the piston opening is closed after filling the raw materials and before the mixing process with the syringe plunger. The closing of the syringe plunger while avoiding the pressing out of the filled into the syringe barrel raw materials can be facilitated if the insertion of the syringe plunger through the piston opening facilitating vent opening is provided in a wall of the syringe barrel preferably made of transparent material, after closing the piston opening with the syringe plunger is closed. The vent is suitably provided at about 100% of the filling amount of the syringe barrel.

The mixing of the raw materials taking place when carrying out the process according to the invention can be carried out, for example, with the aid of a biaxial mixer. For this purpose, the dosing container charged with the basic materials are clamped with suitable devices in a plastic box, wherein a realized in the form of a syringe dosing can be firmly fixed in the box, while a realized in the form of a tubular bag dosing is placed in a pre-filled with chips plastic container, the Plastic container filled with chips, sealed and then mixed using the biaxial mixer. The loading of the dosing with the pigment-free and / or pigment-containing raw materials can be done by volumetric and / or gravimetric dosing.

In summary, the execution of a particularly preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention can be described as follows:

In a first metering step, an aqueous carrier material of high density (for example about 2.2 g / cm 3 ) and high viscosity, which has no influence on the hue or the subsequent material properties, is metered into a metering container, for example in the form of a syringe barrel , As a result, the metering container or the outlet of the metering container, such as a syringe cone, prefilled and ensures a later mixing of the individual pigment-containing raw materials to a homogeneous pigment mixture. Furthermore, it is achieved that do not settle heavy pigments at the bottom of the dosing or in the tip of a syringe barrel used as a dosing before it comes to the mixing process.

In a second dosing step, the pigment-containing base materials are added volumetrically or gravimetrically into the dosing container. In this case, conventional dosing can be used.

In a third dosing step, pigment-free carrier material is filled into the dosing container until a desired filling quantity has been reached. Care must be taken to ensure that there is an air space available before closing the dosing tank so that the raw materials can be completely mixed. The total filling quantity of the dosing tank should be max. 80 to 90% of the volume.

When using tubular bags as Dosierbehälter the remaining interior of the tube is filled with air by means of a needle and compressed air. Then, a good mixing result of the pigment-containing raw materials od in a shaker. Like. Be achieved. When using Dosierbehältern in the form of syringe barrels, a small hole in the wall of the Spritzenzylihders is formed at a predetermined location, such as at 90% of the filling volume to after loading the syringe barrel with the pigment-containing fillers or pigment pastes and possibly a another carrier material to put the syringe plunger for expressing directly. After placing the syringe plunger, the vent hole can be closed with a label. After closing the metering container, a preferably non-contact mixing takes place in a suitable mixing device, such as a biaxial mixer. It may be a standard mixer, for which the above-described special jigs can be built. Care must be taken to the stability of the jigs. Conveniently, a foam core surrounds the entire Container and the entire core is clamped in the biaxial mixer and mixed for about 3 minutes.

The invention is not limited to the above-outlined invention example. For example, three or more pigment-containing raw materials may be mixed together in the dosing tank. It is also possible to dispense with the metered addition of a pigment-free second base material after charging with the pigment-containing base materials. Density and viscosity of the raw materials may differ from the values given above. The invention can also be used in the context of the production of mineral pigment-containing products.
