Description

The invention relates to a tumble dryer, comprising a arranged in a housing, driven by a motor, rotatably mounted on a horizontal or inclined axis drum, a closed loop for the process air, in which supplied by means of a process air blower process air via an air inlet of the drum via a Air outlet is discharged from this, dehumidified in a heat exchanger and then reheated by a heater, a heat pump device with a refrigerant circuit in which circulates refrigerant in a piping system with an evaporator, a compressor, a condenser and a throttle, wherein the heat exchanger, the evaporator and the heater contains the condenser of the heat pump device.

From the prior art is according to the EP 1 209 277 A2 Such a dryer with a heat pump known. Heat pump laundry dryers are currently in high demand because they use both the heat provided by the heat pump and the correspondingly generated cold. As a result, the use of energy can be used more efficiently. In order to avoid that refrigerant leaks to the outside, in recent years, ever more effort has been made in terms of the tightness of the refrigerant circuit. Thus, the compressor is provided with a capsule housing in which the motor for driving the compressor and the compressor itself is enclosed gas-tight. As a result, escaping refrigerant from the compressor can not get into the environment, it remains in the capsule housing. In this proven version, the heat from the engine heats the refrigerant more and more, which means that the entire process has to be heated more and more and finally waste heat has to be blown out of the dryer. Known for this purpose blowers that cool the compressor with air, which are quite inefficient, since the capsule housing does not allow direct supply of cooling air to the compressor motor. Another possibility is to cool the refrigerant line by means of cooling fins and / or a fan, which acts on the refrigerant line with cooling air, whereby waste heat passes out of the dryer. This arrangement is a little more complex and requires space in the device housing.

From the DE 42 12 700 A1 a tumble dryer is known in which the components of the heat pump are combined in a module that is drawer-like inserted in the dryer housing and can be removed accordingly. For a commercial dryer, this arrangement is disadvantageous because the structure must be changed fundamentally. Furthermore, such an arrangement would result in an increased position of the door opening, which may make access to the drum more difficult.

The invention thus has the object to provide a commercial dryer with a heat pump in a simple manner.

According to the invention this object is achieved by a tumble dryer with the features of independent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and modifications of the invention will become apparent from the following dependent claims.

The advantage achieved by the invention is that a simple way to access the components of the heat pump is provided so that maintenance can be done quickly and reliably. It is also possible to replace the functional module without dismantling the dryer itself.

According to the invention, the heat pump device is coupled as a separate functional module to a side wall of the tumble dryer housing, wherein the functional module is adapted to guide the process air through the functional module. The side walls are the walls to the right and left of the loading opening and the rear housing wall. The function module is in the ready state or during operation thus outside of the dryer housing, so that in case of maintenance, only the function module must be disconnected from the dryer housing to allow easy access to the components of the heat pump device. The heat exchanger and the heater can be cleaned quickly and reliably due to its easy accessibility. All position information refers to the operating installation position of the dryer.

In an advantageous development, the functional module has its own housing and is detachably coupled to the tumble dryer housing by means of the module housing. As a result, a compact, independent functional unit is formed, which is also protected from dirt. The module housing advantageously has the same height and width as the dryer housing in order to optically form a unit. Only the depth of the module housing can be smaller due to the arrangement of the components for the heat pump in order to minimize the need for additional footprint.

In an expedient development, the side wall or the rear housing wall of the dryer housing has at least one opening which corresponds to an opening in the housing of the functional module to the process air from the dryer housing out in the functional module to the heat exchanger and for heating and from there the process air in the Return dryer housing. Thus, no pipes or other means for air duct between dryer housing and module housing are necessary, since the dryer housing and the module housing itself are designed for air guidance. It is expedient that the side wall for the outlet of the process air from the dryer housing an opening and for the re-entry of the process air in the Dryer housing includes a further opening, so that no unwanted cross-coupling of the process air flow occurs.

In a further expedient embodiment, a seal surrounding the opening / openings for sealing the process air circulation is arranged between the side wall of the dryer housing and the wall of the functional module housing facing the dryer. Thus, tolerances with respect to the dimensional accuracy of the housing parts do not lead to leaks in the process air flow. Furthermore, vibrations from the heat pump module are not transmitted to the larger side walls of the dryer housing, thereby avoiding unpleasant noises.

To provide a good tight fit of the module housing on the dryer housing, the wall of the functional module housing has an outwardly facing web, which is obliquely positioned on the module housing wall, which can reach an opening edge of the dryer housing in a rear grip, in the ready installation position of the dryer and the functional module ,

In an overall advantageous embodiment, a trough for collecting condensation liquid is arranged in the module housing, which comprises a funnel-shaped depression in order to guide the liquid to an opening in a housing wall of the functional module. Thus, the resulting condensation liquid can be derived in a simple manner from the module housing or directed to a drain in the installation room, without a collecting container must be provided, which is also regularly empty.

In a further advantageous embodiment, the process air guide in the functional module is designed such that the process air can enter the functional module in the lower area, starting from there upwards, first to the heat exchanger and the downstream heater, which leads out of the module housing from there can be. Due to the vertical arrangement of heat exchanger and heating, the functional module can be designed to be slim, so that the required area in the installation room can be kept small and the dryer arrangement does not need too much space in the depth.

In an advantageous development, the heat exchanger is set up to effect a self-cleaning by means of the condensing liquid produced and drained in the heat exchanger. As a result, the maintenance intervals for cleaning the components of the heat pump can be extended. In the best case, no cleaning of the heat exchanger is necessary during the entire life of the heat pump function module.

In an overall expedient embodiment, the module housing comprises a separate from the process air flow receiving space for the compressor and / or other functional elements. As a result, noise-inviting functional elements can be encapsulated or sound-insulated by the separate arrangement in the receiving space designed as a machine room. The receiving space comprises at least one ventilation opening or at least one ventilation grille for cooling the compressor and / or other components of the heat pump.

The Fig. 1 shows a schematic side view of a clothes dryer 1. The clothes dryer 1 in this case comprises a housing 2 in which a rotatably mounted on an at least almost horizontal or horizontal axis 3a drum 3 is arranged. In the housing 2 is located on the bottom side below the drum 3, based on the operational installation position of the dryer, the functional module 5, which receives the components for the heat pump. In the process air duct 8 a of the tumble dryer 1, the process air PL is generated by means of a blower 9 and fed through the air outlet 11 b of the dryer housing 2 to the air inlet 12 b of the module housing 4. From there, the process air PL passes through the heat exchanger 15, where it is cooled and dehumidified due to the condensation generated thereby and then the heater 16, where it is reheated. Through the opening 12a, the process air PL leaves the module housing 4 and passes through the corresponding opening 11a in the dryer housing 2 and then through the air inlet 6 in the drum 3, which provides the treatment room for the laundry or textiles to be dried. Through the air outlet 7, the drying air PL passes from the drum 3 to a filter device 25, which is formed as a plane. The heat exchanger 15 and the heater 16 are here in a channel 8 within the module housing 4. In the module housing 4 is a separated from the channel 8 receiving space 23 for the compressor 14 and other components of the heat pump, such as sensors or a cooler 24 for the refrigerant in Heat pump cycle housed.

Das an das Trocknergehäuse 2 angestellte Fig. 2 shows the clothes dryer 1 in a simplified schematic side view. It can be seen here that the housing 2 of the tumble dryer 1 has at least one opening 11 b on the rear side wall 2 a. The employed to the dryer housing 2

Function module 5 has in its housing 4 on the side facing the dryer 1 side wall 4a also at least one opening 12b, which corresponds to the opening 11 b in the dryer housing. At the lower edge of the opening 12b in the module housing 4, an outwardly facing web 26 is attached, which is obliquely positioned on the module housing wall 4a, which passes at an opening edge, here the lower edge 2b of the dryer housing 2 in a rear grip and thereby a stable positioning the module housing 4 causes the dryer housing. Between the rear side wall 2a of the dryer housing 2 and the wall 4a of the module housing 4, a circumferential seal 13 is arranged, which seals the openings 11a, 11b, 12a and 12b to the outside. Overall, it can be seen that the dryer 1 and the functional module 5 are placed on the footprint 17 such that, due to the gravity of the respective devices in cooperation with the web 16 in engagement with the opening 11a and / or 11b, a solid composite of a dryer unit. 1 , 5 arises.

Fig. 3 shows the functional module 5 in a rear perspective view. In this case, the closed during operation channel 8 is opened, which can be done by means of a so-called maintenance flap closing. Evident is the heat exchanger 15, which is arranged below the heater 16. Below the heat exchanger 15, a collecting trough 20 is arranged within the module housing 4, which is adapted to catch dripping condensation liquid 18 and directed to the outlet opening 21 in the module housing 4. The drip pan 20 can be removed from the module housing 4 for cleaning purposes. Above the process air channel 8, a receiving space 23 separated from this is provided for the compressor 14 or further components. For ventilation of the so-called engine room 23, at least one ventilation opening 22 with a ventilation grille is provided in the rear side wall 4b or a side wall.

Fig. 4 shows a schematic representation of the process air duct 8 in the function module 5 during operation. The moist process air PL succeeded from below to the cold heat exchanger 15 (evaporator), where it is cooled so far that they condensate and thereby form water droplets 18 and drain on fins 15a of the heat exchanger 15 downwards due to gravity SW. The effluent water drops 18 take attached dirt particles 19 and let them into the drip pan 20 (FIG. Fig. 3 ) reach. Furthermore, the process air PL itself is freed of dirt particles by condensate formation or they are reduced at least in the process air PL. The thus purified process air PL now leaves the heat exchanger 15 and then passes through the heater 16. A contamination of the heater 16 is reliably avoided or at least reduced in this way, so that a cleaning of these two components 15, 16 must be performed only rarely. The fins 15a of the heat exchanger 15 are in this case aligned at least substantially in a vertical extent. The fins 16a of the heater extend substantially vertically, so that remaining in the process air dirt particles 19 blown past the fins be able to fall down into the drip pan 20 when the process air PL is switched off.
