Abstract
Description
- The present invention relates to a household appliance comprising a control unit.
- In household appliances, particularly like the dishwasher, washing machine, laundry dryer, the program duration is determined by the user or is recorded in the memory of a control unit. The user can select the desired program (short, economic, cotton, delicate etc.) by the program buttons of the household appliance. The duration of the program can also vary according to each program. The user can know approximately when his/her items would be washed or dried according to the selected program. Accordingly, he/she can select the short or long duration economic program depending on when he/she needs his/her items. In household appliances having electronic screens, the program duration appears on the screen when the program is selected.
- However, in regions wherein there are oscillations in the mains voltage, the control unit stops the program until the voltage reaches the limit values if the mains voltage is outside of certain voltage values. The reason for this is that the elements which are disposed in the household appliance can malfunction or operate with bad performance when actuated at low voltage or high voltage. The user thinks that the household appliance operates for a longer time than required, that it has malfunctioned and satisfaction from the appliance decreases when the program is stopped thus for some time depending on the mains voltage.
- In the state of the art European Patent Document No. EP0921629, the washing machine is explained, having a control unit that monitors the mains voltage value and stops the motor if the voltage is over certain limit values.
- The aim of the present invention is the realization of a household appliance wherein the program duration can be regulated.
- The household appliance realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a panel providing the user to select the program desired to be actuated by at least one button and a control unit that provides the program to be performed according to the program steps and durations. The program steps and durations are recorded in a memory by the producer. The control unit operates by being supplied with the mains voltage and controls the mains voltage values. Oscillations may occur in the mains voltage. The control unit stops the program if the mains voltage is outside of predetermined limit voltage values in order to prevent the household appliance from being damaged. Meanwhile, the control unit continues controlling the mains voltage and actuates the program again when the mains voltage reaches to between the limit voltage values.
- The steps and durations for each selected program are prerecorded in the memory by the producer. Consequently, the user can select programs with different durations depending on when he/she will need his/her items and can know approximately when the program will end upon selecting the program suitable for the properties of his/her items.
- The control unit, furthermore, defines as the stopping time the duration elapsed between when the program is stopped depending on the variation in the mains voltage and the time when the mains voltage reaches limit voltage values. The control unit regulates the program steps and durations again according to the stopping time. Thus, the variation amount in the total program duration depending on the stopping time is controlled such that neither the user will be disturbed nor the performance of the household appliance is lowered.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the control unit shortens the program duration or the step durations depending on the stopping time.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the control unit cancels at least one of the program steps depending on the stopping time.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the control unit records the step wherein the program is stopped in the memory when the mains voltage is detected to be lower than the lower limit voltage or higher than the upper limit voltage and continues the program from the beginning of the stopped step when the stopping time ends.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, the control unit records the step wherein the program is stopped in the memory when the mains voltage is lower than the lower limit voltage or higher than the upper limit voltage and continues the program from the next step when the stopping time ends.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, when the control unit restarts the program that was stopped due to the mains voltage being outside of the limit values, the program duration is shortened by comparing with a limit stopping time prerecorded in the memory thereof by the producer.
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the household appliance comprises at least one sensor that detects the amount, dirt level, temperature and humidity state of the items. The control unit evaluates the data received from the sensors at the end of the stopping time and regulates the program steps and durations accordingly.
- In an embodiment of the present invention, when change is made in the program steps and durations depending on the stopping time, the user is informed of the change that is made by a display.
- The household appliance of the present invention is a washing machine in an embodiment of the present invention.
- The household appliance of the present invention is a dryer in another embodiment of the present invention.
- The household appliance of the present invention is a dishwasher in another embodiment of the present invention.
- The household appliance realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
