IMPROVEMENT IN WASHlNG-MACHINES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 123,560, dated February 13, 1872.
FREEMAN, of the city of Humboldt, Allen county, Kansas:
The object of my invention being to wash clothes of any kind or description by means of the diagonal bars across the bottom of the machine and diagonal bars arranged reversely upon the halfcircle rubber, thus the clothin g or article washed is kept from doubling up while being washed.
A is the frame of the machine, to which all other parts are attached.
Figure l is a side elevation of the machine embodying my invention. Fig. 2 is a plan of the same. Fig. 3 is an elevation, which. shows the end of the machine.
B represents the legs or uprights which supportthe machine. G represents the diagonal cross-bars which are attached to the rubber; and H represents the diagonal cross bars which are placed the reverse of those on the rubber, being fast to the bottom of. themachine, both of which are seen in Fig. 2. What I claim as my invention and improvement in washing-machines is- The construction and arrangement of the diagonal bars G and H, shaft F with the upright journal-boxes E, connect-ing-barsD, in combination with the frame and box and lever X, cross-bar 0, all as shown and described.
