DEVICE FOR HOLDING STRAINERS OVER CREAM-SEPARATORS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May dal, 19118.
To all 'whom t may concern.'
Be it known that we, CHARLES FREDERICK DENISE and CADET DENIsE, citizens of the United States residing at Boyne Falls, the county of harlevoix and State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Devices for Holding Strainers Over Cream-Separators; and we do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in devices for holding strainers over cream separators, or other receptacles and consists of a simple and efficient device of this nature comprising various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings, and then speciically defined in the appended claim.
Our invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings which, with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this specification and in which:
Figure l is an ed e vien7 of the device.
Fig. 2 is a side e evation, and
Fig. 3 is a central vertical sectional view.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter:
A designates a split band having a central longltudinal struck up rib B adapted to engage the edge of the separator to hold the band in place and one marginal edge of the band is turned to form a roll C. Said rolll extends on the outside of the band in order to prevent catching on the edge of the supply can and coming oif.
Near each end of the band are lugs E struck up therefrom which are adapted to pass through the eyes N formed at the ends of the two coiled springs 0, said lugs being bent upon themselves to secure the ends to the band.
In operation, the screen is placed over the end of the separator and the band section telescoped over the upper end of the separator and the strainer, thus holding the same in place. The band being connected by the springs will yield and adapt the same to different sized separators.
What we claim to be new is:
A device for holding strainers over cream separators, comprising, in combination with the neck of a receptacle having a circumferential flange at the top thereof, a split band having beadings along the marginal edges thereof and adapted to surround said neck, one of said beadings being adapted to hold a strainer against the under face of said Harige, a central beading intermediate the marginal headings, struck-up lugs intermediate the headings, springs secured to said lugs and spanning the space intermediate the ends of the ring and held apart from achh other by said central beading, as set ort CHARLES FREDERICK DENISE. CADET DENISE.
