application fled March it, rain. ltciial an. aiaria @tate of New York. have invented certain new and useful Improvements in @anitary Covers for Vibrator Attachments, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to provide a remcva is cover or sanitary cap for use on the rubber cup orother attachment of a vibrator used for massaging.
7 Another object of this invention is to make these caps in such a manner that they can easily be applied to the attachment and renewed with every person massaged therewith. to prevent the carrying of disease germsfrom one person to another by means of these attachments.

the sanitary covers be form of a sanitary cover for vibrators which will be fully illustrated in the drawing described in the specification and pointed out in the claims at the end thereof. I
' la the drawing% Figure l is a perspective viewof one of the rubber cups used on vibrators with a sanitary cover in process of being applied thereto the cup and cover being shownv partly in section.
lfig. 2 is a perspective view of the same a rubber cup as it will appear when thecover is attached thereto.
3. .is a side-elevation of one of the sanitary covers before it is applied to the vibrator cup. I
Tig. t is a vertical sectional view of the sanitary cover the section being taken on the line t"d" of Fig. 3.
Fig. 5 is a bottom lan view of one of ore it is applied to the vibrator cup.
ln the several figures of the drawing like reference numerals indicate like parts.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 reference nuiineral 1 indicates a rubber cup which is used as an attachment with practically all hand vibrators that are driven by electric motors for the purpose of giving massage. en this attachment is fastened in place on the vibrators it rates or vibrates through a small circle at a high rate of speed.
The cup ll while vibrating is applied to the slrin of the face and elsewhere and the skin is massaged thereby. @uch vibrators are used in barber-shops and other public places where the same instrument and attachment is used on a large number of customers. Germs may adhere to the attach inent when it is applied to one customer and they may be carried thereby to another customer and cause infection. To prevent this a fresh sanitary cover should be used to cover the part of the cup which is applied to the sh'n of each customer when massaged thereby. The cover used for this purpose is indicated by reference numeral 2 and is shown attached to the rubber cup 1 in lHig. 2 in which position the vibrator cus ready for use.

e cover'2 consists of a small thimble which is made out of thin rubber with a head 3 formed on the open end thereof and encircling the outer circumference to form a reinforcementthereon.
The cover is applied to the cup by stretching it over the edge thereof into the position shown in full lines in i. la this position part of the cover 2 18 held above the edge of the cap it which permits the air to be forced out from underneath the cover 2 when the central portion thereof is forced into the inside of the cup from the full line position to the dotted line position as shown in Fig. l.
The rubber sheet is then released on the outside and allowed to adhere closely to the outer periphery of the cup 1 and prevent air from reentering into the inside of the cup below the cover 2. The partial vacuum created by the expulsion of the air between the cover it and the inside of the cup 1 will 'malre the cover closely adhere to the attachment and will be held thereon by the atmospheric pressure.
- After a treatment is completed with a cover 2 in place on the attachment, the cover can be removed from the cup and a new one put in its place so that the instrument will be ready for another strictly sanitary treatment.
gin and head 3 of the cover is lifted on one side to allow air to enter between the inside of the cup and below the cover. iis destroys the partial vacuum created by the forcing out of the air below the cover as above pointed out, and releases the cover from any contact with the inside of the cup so that it can be lifted of therefrom.

I claim 1. The combination with a vibrat or-attachment having a cavity, of a cover for the attachment, said cover being composed of 5 an elastic thimble placed under tension and having its central ortion flexed inwardly to substantially con orm to the walls of said cavity, the flexing of said cover causing the latter to beheld to the attachment by a 10 partial vacuum created in said cavity.
2. The combination with a vibrator-attachment having a cavity, of a cover for the attachment, said cover being composed of menace an elastic thimble placed under tension and having its central ortion flexed inwardly 16 to substantially con orm to the walls of said cavity, the flexing of said cover causin the latter to be held to the attachment y a partial vacuum created in said cavity, said thimble having a reinforcing ring bounding 20 its open end and adapted to encircle the outer edge of the attachment and to hold the margin of the thimble against the leakage of air.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature. 25
