,have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Catamenial Appliances, of which I. do declare the followingto be a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this speclfication.

The invention consists in the features of novelty hereinafter described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and particularly pointed out in the claim at the end of this specification. Figure 1. is a perspective view of the body of the appliance of my invention. Fig. 2 is a view in central vertical cross section through the appliance as shown in Fig. 1.

In the drawing, 10 and 11 designate respectively front and rear supporters which will be'provided at their upper ends with suitable means whereby they may be suspended from the wearers waist. The front supporter, 10 is provided. with tapes 12 adapted to pass around the wearerswaist and similarly, the rear supporter 11 is shown as tapes or straps 13 that pass around the wearers waist and are tied together; al though obviously, other suitable means may be employed for suspending the supporters from the waist of the wearer. Inasmuch as the supporters 10 and 11 are broad and have buttons 25 at their edges and inasmuch-as the upper end portions of the shield 17 are truncated and correspondingly broad and are provided with buttonholes at distances apart, it will be seen that the'upper portion of the shield, particularly at the front, is so held that it will more effectively conform to the outline of the bodyand avoid the danger of displacement; and it will be seen, also, that the expanded side'portions of the shield will extend about and protect the upper leg portions of the wearer, and the tapes or straps 30 being located at a distance below the tops of the front and rear portions of the shield, will encircle the wearers legs in such manner as to most effectively hold the shield in place. v

The precise details of construction above set out may be varied without departing from the splrit of the invention and features of the invention may be employed without its adoption as an entirety.
