ARTHUR WOLFF, F NEW YORK, N. Y.
CATAMENIAL- marian. I
assente.,
Application filed December 21,` 1918. Serial No.
.To all whom t man concern:
Be it known that l, ARTHUR WOLEF, a citizen of the United States', and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, city, county, and State of New York, have invented cer- `tain .new and useful Improvements in Catamenial Napkins, a specification.
My present invention upon'that set forth in l,2'.79,206, issued to me Sept. 17, 1918. My improvements relate to means for sustaining both ends of a catamenial napkin upon the person of the user, the object lbeing to afford effective but simple and inexpensive of which the following is is an improvement Letters Patent N o.
suspenders adapted for convenient attach-l ment to or detachment from a corset Without injury to the latter or discomfort to the weare1',-'-the invention consisting in the specie construction, combination and arrange-v ment of parts described and claimed, all as hereinafter more fully set forth.
ln the accompanying drawings,
Figure l, is a general View of a catamenial napkin provided with my Suspenders, which are shown in elevation;
Fig. 2 is a side or edge view of the front suspenderg 3, is alike view lfig. fl, is a detail the frontl clasp member;
lfig. 5, is a top View of the `front claspmeinber.
N, represents a napkin of suitable material the ends of which are folded over and secured 'by safety pins p, p. The spine member p, of each safety pin y), is secured to an elongated rigid loop p2, which reinforces and stiifens the safety pin as a Whole; and at the same time affords means for attachment of the lower portion of an elastic resilient suspender web e, the upper portion of which latter is attached to the transverse loop o, forming the lower part o-f the shank c, of each clasp member C, C.
The shank c', of the. rear clasp member (V, is formed with a lace-straddle hook ce, similar to that LettcrsPatent No. 1,279,206;
of the rear suspender;
Specification of Letters Patent.

showing the stud hole in forth in my aforesaid` v while the- Patented Nov. 1e, 1919. 267,767.
shank c', of the front clasp C, is formed with a lateral extension c3, having` a stud hole G4, and slot c5, for engagement with one on the front of the corset K. The corset Studs le, are rigidly attached to and project frointhe left hand front rib e, of the corset K, the right hand front rib la?, thereof being provided with the usual stud loops 7c3, for engagement with said studs'fc. j
The lateral extension c3, of the front clasp C, is to centralize the front support of the napkin N, by compensating for the fact that the studs lc, are to one side of the center or front edges join each other. An offset 031, between the shank c, of the front clasp and its lateral extension c3, compensates for the thickness of the study loops k3, on the left hand front rib 7:2, of the corset, so thaty a snug and comfortable fit is insured between the parts coupled together. 1
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by LettersPatent is,
A catamenial appliance of the character designated, comprising a napkin provided at each 'extremity with a suspender consist ing of a safety pin the spine member of which is attached to and reinforced by an elongated rigid loop, and an elastic resilient web attached to said safety pin loop and to a clasp member adapted to be supported on the corset of the wearer, the front clasp member being formed with a lateral extension which is offset from the shank of said front member between the shank of the said clasp and its lateral extension to compensate for the thickness of the stud on a corset and Said lateral extension being formed with a stud hole for engagement with one of the studs on the front of a corset, and the rear clasp member bein formed with means for engagement with tfie lace of a corset, as and for the purpose set forth.
