To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Asa Sonnnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jonesboro, in-the county of Craighead and State of Arkansas, have invented'certainnew and useful Improvements in Combined Supports, Deflectors, andHousings for Motor- 'D.riven Fans, of which the followinw is a specification, reference being had to t ie accompanying; drawings.

This invention relates to an improved combined housing, support and deflector for "motor driven fans, and an object of the in :ventionfis to provide a device of this kind fjwhich is very simple, efiicient and practical in construction and portable from one place to another. Furthermore, the device is capable of being cheaply constructed, whereby it may be sold at a reasonable profit.

The invention further aims to provide a combined support, housing and deflector, whereby the motor driven-fan can be supported on a table, obscured from sight and whereby the air is deflected: laterally and upwardly so as to scatter to all parts of the room and maintain the atmosphere of the room refreshing and cool.

The invention still further aims to provide a combined deflector and support in the form of a base having a central conical or cone shaped portion axially alined with center of the shaft of the motor, whereby the air passing downwardly from the blades of the fan is deflected radially from the cone shaped portion and partially upwardly by the base thereby causing the air to circulate over the room.

While the design andconstruction at present illustrated and set forth is deemed preferable, it isobvious that as a result of a reduction of the invention to a more practical, form for commercial purposes, the invention may be susceptible to changes, and the right to thesechanges is claimed, provided tliey'are comprehended within the scope of what is claimed.

The invention comprises further features and combination of parts, as will be hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawings and claimed.

Referring to these drawings, 1 designates a combined base and deflector which in the present instance is hollow, and of circular form. The central portion of the supporting base and deflector has a gradual conical or cone shaped portion 2, the center of whichisaxially concentric with the shaft 3 of a conventional form of electric motor 4. The shaft 3 of the motor has a revoluble fan 5 and as this fan rotates, the air is agitated and forced in the direction of the central conical cone shaped portion 2. The upper wall of the base merges from the conical or cone shaped portion outwardly and radially and slopes slightly upwardly and merges into a marginal raised or bulged portion 6. whlch is on the plane substantially with the height of the cone or conical shaped portion 2. The air from the fan is deflected outwardly and downwardly and then outwardly and gradually upwardly so as to circulate to all parts of the room. 1

By means of supports 7 either integral with or detachably fastened to the upper wall of the base, a hood or cover 8 is supported in a spaced superimposed position relatively to the base. Adjacent the top of the hood or cover housing is a plurality of apertures or 0 enings 9, arranged circumferentially of t e cover or housing in order to permit air to enter the housing so as to be acted upon by the revoluble fan. The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and useful is:
