Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed January 14, 1922. Serial No. 529,163.
useful improvements in ticket holders, and
it pertains more particularly to devices adapted for holding rice tickets.
It is one of the 0 to provide a ticket holder which may be socuroly fastened to the edge of a shelf or similar structure.
7 It is a further object of the invention to provide a ticket holderin which the ticket is securely held against accidental displacement.
It is a further object of the invention to provide a ticket holder in which the ticket is secured by resilient tongues. v
It is a still further objectof the invention to provide 'a ticket holder in which the entire device is formed from a single piece of material.
With the above and other objects in View, reference is had to the accompanying drawings, in which-- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a ticket holder constructed in accordance with the present invention;
Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, the device comprises a main body porton 5, from the opposite side edges of which project two parallel flanges 6. The device is formed from a single piece of material and is crimped along the lines indicated by the reference character 7 to provide the main body portion 5 and the parallel flanges 6. Each of these parallel flanges 6 is provided with an inwardly projected head 8 extending throughout the length thereof, and the upper flange is provided with a plurality of perforations 9 or the like, the purpose of which will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
When the. device is in operative position,
View taken jects of the invention the body portion 5 forms the front wall or face thereof, and said face is cut out as indlcatedat 10, to provide a plurality of resilient clasps or fingers 11. Each of these clasps or fingers 11 is provided with a depressed portion 12, and said depressed por- Patented May 23, 1922.

tion is adapted to normally lie within the openings 13 formed by the cut-out portion. These clasps or fingers extend from a point adjacent the lower line of the crimped portion 7 vertically, and their upper ends 14 are adapted to permit of the insertion of a card or the like 15 behind said resilient clasps or fingers. It will further be noted that these clasps or fingers are formed in the front wall of the U-shaped member at a point inwardly of the ends of said front wall in order that the fingers may have a binding action with the defining edge of the openings 13.
In operation, the device is engaged with the edge ofa shelf 20 or the like, as shown in Fig. 3, the beads 8 frictionally engaging the shelf to retain the device in position.
If it is desired to immovably secure the device to the shelf, suitable fastenings are passed through the openings 9.
With the device in the above described position, the card 15 is inserted behind the upper ends 14: of the clasps on fingers 11, and said card is then forced downwardly into engagement with the depressed portions 12 of said clasps or resilient fingers 11. By
constructing the device as described, it will be seen that the card 15 is forced inwardly of the open portions 13 from which the clasps or fingers 11 are cut, thus distorting the card sufficiently to prevent its accidental displacement from behind the resilient ber by cutting the said base and forcing the clips therefrom, and an inwardly disposed depressed portion formed on-eaoh of said clips, the protuberance formed on each of 'said depressed portions lying within the con- 10 fines of the opening resulting from the formatiori of its respective clip. 7 Y
