ARMLET PURSE.

To all whom it may concern:

7 Be it known that I, WILLIAM B. MARSH, a citizen of the United States, residin at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and S tate of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Armlet Purses, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to purses, and particularly to armlet purses.

The principal object is to provide a devlce of this kind whereby valua les may .be secured in close proximity to the body of the wearer 'as in travelling.

Another object is to produce a device of this kind which may be made of waterproof material and utilized by bathers for the purpose of carrying change or valuables when bathing.

With these and other objects in View the invention resides in certain novel construction and combination and arrangement of parts, the essential-features of which are hereinafter fully described, are particularly pointed out in the appended claims and are illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved armlet purse with the flap opened.

Figure 2 is a similar view with the flap closed.

Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Figure Zand Figure 4 is a view showing the purse applied to the arm of a wearer;

Like characters of reference refer to like parts in all views.

While I have herein mentioned this device as an armlet purse it is to be understood that secured a pocket or purse 11 having a flap 12 which is provided exteriorly with one portion 13 of a snap fastener. The other portion of the snap fastener is,shown at 14 and is secured to the inner surface of the innermost layer of'goods used in the construction of the purse 11.

In use the valuables are placed in the pocket 11 then the flap 12 is tucked inside the open adjacent end of member 11 and the snap elements 13 and 14 are pressed into engagement. The band 1O- is then slipped over the hand whereby the pocket 11 is pressed against the arm so as to secure the purse against accidental opening and to prevent its being stolen .by pick'pockets or purse Snatchers.

By constructing the device of waterproof material it will be seen that the band 10 will press contents of the purse 11 into'such close Contact at the open end of said purse that 1 a substantial watertight seal will be obtained. I

What is claimed as new is 1. An armlet purse comprising acircular band of elastic material, a purse secured to the inner surface thereof and formed with a flap, a fastening element securedto the err terior of said flap, and a co-acting fastening element secured tothe interior of said purse.

2. An armlet purse comprising a circular band of elastic material, a purse secured thereto and open at one end, a flap formed. on said open end of said purse, a fastening element secured to said flap and a fastening element secured to the inside of said purse to co-act with the fastening element on said flap when the same is inserted in the open end of said purse.
