"1 object of our invention is to provide a. methd and means whereb a section or` sections of an ingot mold fee' er of plastic material by forcing it through a die having a passage corresponding to the section of the feeder.
Another object of our vide a method and die for making ingot mold :feeders` in which the sections when formed singly or in multiple will have the contour of a perfect feeder when the predetermined number of sections are assembled. y A further object of o'ur invention is to provide a diein which the endsare made so as to form the sections ofthe feeder with the interlocking faces.
' A still further object of our invention is to provide a method and a die 'of this charinvention is to proacter which is simple in construction and operation and having certain details of structure and combination of parts hereinafter more fully set forth.

Referring now to the drawings 1v represents the cylinder in which is arranged a plunger 2 for com ressing the refracto material in the cylinder and through the die as will be vhereinafter more fully described. The refractory material is. fed into the cylinder below the plunger in any desired manner. The lower end of =the cylinder'has bolted thereto a section 3 carryfLV ing a spreader 4 which is adapted to spread and break up the refractory material before' its passage to the die. Carried by the lower end of the section 3 is a section 5 which has at its lower end, an annular outwardly ex'-' tending flange 6 to :which is boltedl a die section 7 by means of the bolts 8." In the modification shown in Figure 3 of the drawings only two partitions 24 and 25 are provided therein making two passages 26 and 27 whereby a two section feeder is formed. y,
In Figure 4 we have shown the dies of a fluted form as indicated at 28 and showing three lpartitions 29, 30 and 31 whereby a three section feeder is formed.
In Figure 5 we have-shown a square die having the partitions 31, 32, 33 and 34 arranged at the corners so that each, section of the feeder is practically one side of the feeder.
In Figure 6 instead of making the die in one piece we have shown it made in four sections 35, 36, 37 and 38 which may be secured together in any desired manner or may be used separately to form a single section in Which event a plunger 39 is arranged in a receptacle above the die section which operates through a rod 40. By this structure it' will be seen that we are able to make the sections singly or-in a series of 1, 2, 3 and 4 or more. "The same principle could be ap'- plied to the form shown in Figure 1 Instead of having the die of a single piece and having the partition integral, the die sections could be made as shown in Figure 6 and the single plunger used to force the refractory material out through the four passages forming the four feeder sections.
