A; PETERSON CONVERTIBLE TABLE Original Filed Aug. 27, 1923 2 Sheets-Sheet l g feeriron) ATTORNEY Patented Aug. 30, 1927.
UNITED stares ALBERT PETERSON, OF RICHISIOND, VIRGINIA.
CONVERTIBLE TABLE.
Application filed August 27, 1923, .Serial No. 659,631. Renewed July 1,- 1927.
' This invention relates to a table, the genother features of construction and in the a combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended 3 claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the S(-1V eral views, and in which Figure 1 is a side view of the table in use. Figure 2 is an'end View. Figure 3 is a plan view. Figure 4 is a view of the table in folded condition.
Figure 5 is a view showing the table in vertedand containing a case.
Figures 6 and 7 are sectional views taken transversely through the seats and showing difierent means for detachably securing the supporting legs thereto. 7
In these views 1 indicates a table top and 2 the legs thereof' The table top is formed in two sections which are hingedly connected together and each section ismade in the form of a boX with its bottom open. The legs 2 are pivotally connected with the depending flanges of the top, as shown at 3, so that they can be folded within the top when desired. Seats 4 are provided for the table, each seat having hooks 5 on its inner edge for engaging pins 6 011 the table legs. Each seat is also provided with a pair of legs 7 which are foldable. .A case 8 is arranged to fit an automobile.
within one of the sections so that various articles can be placed therein and then the other section can be folded upon the first to cover the case 8. The legs are folded within the sections and the sections can be strapped together by the straps 9 to which a handle 10 is connected. The seats can be placed against one side of the folded table top and held in place by the straps. Thus the de vice can easily be carried from one place to another or placed on the running board of i Various articles can be placed in the table top, such as kitchen utensils and the like.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.
I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is':
A collapsible and foldable campers outfit comprising incombination two hingedly connected together box-like sections adapted to provide a table top when arranged in end to end relation, and a casing when folded parallel, supporting legs for each section, said legs being pivotally mounted to fold within the section when not in use, a pin projecting '1 horizontally from each leg, a seat adapted to be arranged at each side of the table, hook-like elements projecting from said seat and adapted to engage said pins fordetachably connecting the seats with said legs, and
pivoted supporting legs forming part of each seat and adapted to be folded in parallelism therewith to allow said seats to be strapped at the side of the casing when detached from the legs thereof.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
ALBERT PETERSON.
