IMPROVEMENT INNCASES FOR EXHliTING YARN.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 165,0 i dated June 29, 1875; application tiled April 17, 1875.'

To all whom it may concern,

Be it known that I, HENRY J. MILLMANN, of Milwaukee, in the county ot' Milwaukee and State of Visconsn, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Yarn-Oases, of Which the following' is a specification:

The object ot' this invention is to construct a oase for keepin (secluded from dust) Zephyr- Worsted, knitting-cotton, Vand similar kinds of goods, for exhibiting them for sale, so that such goods may be examined without handling until sold.

l The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed outin the claims.

This case consists of a frame, A, of cylindrical or other form, having a cap or top piece, B, a bottom, O, and a pivot, D, on which it revolves in an upright position, as represented. E is one of' a'series ot' compartments (four, more or less) on opposite sides ot' the case. These compartments are divided intopigeonholes F, or other sub-compartments, of convenient form and size, in which the goods for sale are placed. These compartments are screened from dust and protected by doors G,

' which slide vertically, or upward, and are balanced by means of weights H and cords I, attached to the doors and to the Weigh ts. J represen ts vertical tubes, in which the weights rise and `fall as the doors are opened and closed. K are pulleys, over which the cords pass.

These tubes and pulleys may be placed in any other convenient position.

Between the glass doors are angular spaces L, having one or more horizontal partitions, on which trays or boxes m are placed for containing goods.

These boxes may be faced with glass so as to expose the contents, or the contents may be concealed, as may be desired.

N are buttons attached to the partitions for fastening the boxes in place.4 O is the spider, on which the ease revolves.

This spider may be in any form, or the pivot D may enter the counter, a post, or stand.

This case may bemade in any form, and of any size, and may be used for all the purposes having transparent doors in front, and sub' divided into sub-compartments F, as and for the purpose setfort 3. In a show-case having compartments E, `the intermediate angular boxes m, arranged as and for the purpose specified.
