This invention relates to receptacle sup ports and the object of the invention is to provide a receptacle support adapted to space the receptacle from the part on which it is mounted and to lock a receptacle of two parts together. A further object' of the invention to provide a receptacle support ot the character described having a shoulder adapted to support the base ofthe receptacle, such as a two part receptacle case or the like, in spaced relation. with the part on which the support is secured and having a tongue portion extending upwardly through the base and cover of the receptacle, the upper end otthe tongue portion being bent over to lock the base and cover otthc receptacle between the supporting.shoulders and said bent over portion. A further object of the invention is to provide av recep taclc support for each end of a receptacle, the supports being provided with an. aperturcd base having a large, aperture opening into a smaller aperture,the large aperture being" adapted to he placed over the head of a nail, screw or the like at which time the receptacle may be given aslip ht turn to position the smaller portions of the apertures beneath the said heads and bindingly lock the device in the supportedposition. A further'object of the invention is to provide a receptacle support which may be cheaply made and which may be formed with a single stamping of sheet metal or the like. These objects and the several novel features of the invention are hereinafter more fully described and claimed i and the preferred Form of construction by which these ob jects are attained shown in the accompany ing; drawings in which- I Fig. 1 is a side elevation of a. receptacle provided with supports embodying my invention, the receptacle shown being a two pert transformer case.

As shown in Fig. 8 the receptacle support consists of a base 1 preferably formed of sheet metal and having an aperture 2 therein into which a smaller aperture 8 opens. tending upwardly at approximately a right angle from the base 1 is a portion 4- which is provided with inwardly bent shoulders 5 curved to fit the end of thereceptacle which is here shown as a two-part transf0rv 1922. of the tongue 6 is then bent over as shown in Fig. 1 to lock the base and cover of the transformer case together between the shoulders and the bent portion 10. To support the device a pair of nails or screws 11 may be driven into the member on which the device is to. be mounted, the nails orscrews being spaced apart to conform with the space between the apertures 3 on the opposite sides of Fig. 2, it being necessary that the heads of the nails or screws be smaller than the apertures 2 and larger than the apertures 3. \Vhen the nails or screws have been driven down into the member to considerable extent the apertures 2 are positioned over the heads thereof at which time the receptacle may be turned to bring the apertures 8 beneath the heads 11 of the nails or screws. If desired the nails or screws may be driven down tight at this time which looks the receptacle supports to the member on which they are mounted. While I have shown a two-part transformer case it is to be understood that the supports are not limited to use with this type of receptacle but may be used with anytype of two-part receptacle in whichthe supports are to be used to support the receptacle in spaced relation with the member on which it is mounted. and at the same time lock the two parts of the receptacle together.

From the foregoing description it becomes evident that the device is very simple and efiicient in operation, of very low manufacturing cost, s'easily made and provides a device WhlCll'ElCCQHlPllSl'M-ES the ob ects desired.
