. MASSAGE IMPLEMENT.

The invention relates to improvements in massage implements, and more particularly a small portable implement adapted to be readily held in the hand of the user or operator, or placed upon an article furniture and moved about at will.
It is the object of my invention to provide such an implement which combines a rotary motion with suction and thereby stimulates the skin more eflicientlyand to a greater degree than similar devices now on the market.
It is also my intention to provide an implement of this character that will be durableand simple in construction and extremely easy to manipulate, and one that can readily be moved from place to place as desired."

Referring now more particularly to the drawings, 1 is a housing of sheet metal adapted to enclose an electrical motor 2. This housing is preferably constructed as shown by the drawing with an enlargement 1 at. one end. At the top or one end of themotor 2 and within the enlarged part 1 of the cas-- ing is located a suction fan 3 adapted to be driven by the motor. Electric wires 4 are provided for connecting the motor to a source of current, and a switch can be conveniently located, cutting themotor on or off as required. I also provide an exhaust 5 at one side of the casing 1 adjacent the fan 3.
Attached to the top of the enlarged'portion 1 of the casing 1 and adjacent the fan is a flexible tube 6, the inner end of which has direct communication with the interior of the casing so that the fan 3will suck air therethrough when driven by the motor. Within the tube 6 is located and spaced therefrom a rotary drive cable 7 enclosed in a flexible housing 8. This cable 7 extends back through the'housing and has driving connection preferably with the suction fan 3,'althoughthe same may be directly connected to the motor.
At the outer end of the tube 6 and cable 7 c is located a rotary cup 9 secured to the drive cable 7 so as to be rotated thereby by pin 12 i clamped by a wire clampnor the like 11. I
also provide openings 10 at the base of the cup 9, which openingsfo'rm a communication between the cup and the interior of'thetube. The above describes the connection of the cup with the tube, housing and drive cable as clearly shown in Fig. 3 of the drawing, I
wherein it will. be seen that the rotation of the drive cable and its flexible housing will impart a rotary movement to. the cup 9 through pin 12, carried by the cable 7, en-l gaging apertures in the base of the cup, and the cup is firmly maintained in place at the outer end ota flexible tube 6 by clamping the tube and the cup together by means 01 clamp 11. In operation, it will be readily perceived that. as the fan is operated it will cause a suction through the tube 6 and cup 9 and will also drive-the cable 7 to rotate the cup 9. I v c a i From the above description,it will be apparent that I'have provided a simple, efiicient massage device and one that not'only stimu lates the skin bythe rotation of the cup but also adds materially to the stimulation of the skin by causing a suction to be combined with the rotation.
Having thus described my invention, what I I claim is: a

A massage implement, comprising a casing, an electric motor within the casing, a suction fan within the casing adapted to be drivenby the motor, a hollow tube secured w to the casing adjacent the fan, a rotary drive cablelocated withinthetube having its inner end connected to the motor, and a massage cup at the outer end of the tube and cable,
