In the drawings 1 is an elevational View with one half of the device in central section and istaken on' the section line 1 '1 shown in Fig. '2. In the drawings there is'illustrated a carton or box having the sides"10, one end 11'- F that :is preferably complete although it may be otherwise formed and similar to the o ppo site end 12 which is shown providedwith central cut out 13'Zfo'r dispensing purposes;
The carton includes a pair of inturned edges 15 adapted to lie parallel with the back 1 1 and these edges extend inwardly towards each other and but, part way across the top of the carton. This is shown clearly in Fig. 3. A suitable number of partitions 16, and
in Fig. 1 two of saidpartitions are illus-- trated, form three grooves or channels 17. In Fig. 5 three of these partitions 16 are tains but one shown jforniingj four grooves 17. The cabinet shown in detail inv Figs. '1 and.
course, be understood that each carton} concolor of shoelace and but one 2 isherein adapted to displayv anddispensei' four types of shoe lacesythat is with four sizes o'fxthesame' colored shoe laces or two sizes of black and brownshoelaces. VVhen other colors areto be usedsuch as white and tain the seyeralcompartments will contain a carton of Said shoe laces. in which event; preferably all of the cartons willecont'ain shoe laoesof the SHIDG'SiZB. If it is desired a plurality of 'cabinets each will contain" each carton containing a shoelace of the specified size but all, Shoelaces of the cartons being of the same color.
Reference will now be hadto Figs. 1 and 2, wherein the cabinet or carton container is cartons with shoe laces of the same color, but
shown in detail. Herein a base 20 supports a spindle 21" including any suitableornamental top 22 serving as a handle. 'Rotatably supported by the aforesaid is a cabinet having the top plate 23 and the bottom plate 24; connected by four uprights 25. These uprights are positioned at the corner as shown and between the uprights there is provided aface 26 having an opening or cut out 2'7 centrally positioned therein and at the lower portion thereof. The bottom or base 24 intermediate each of the uprights 25 is cut out as at 28 to form a ledge 29. The ledge 29 is cut out as at 30 and a comparison oi Figs. 2 with 3 to 5 inclusive, will show that the cut out portion 28 is adapted to receive the end of the carton with the cut out 30 registering with the cut out 13 of the end 12 of the carton. The top plate 23 is cut out as at 31 and in this instance the slot or notch extends completely across or thru the plate 23 and registers with or is in alignment with the cut out portion 28 closed by the ledge 22 The car-ton. is positionable within the cabinet by inserting the lower end of the carton thru the opening 31 until the lower end engages the ledge 29, whereupon it is seated in the cabinet. The carton is positioned within the cabinet so that the inturned flanges 15 lie behind the wall 26 immediately adjacent the out out portion 27. The, cut out portion 27 therefore, as shown in Fig. 1, exposes to view the bands 18 and a portion of the banded laces. By pulling downwardly and outwardly upon the lowermost and outermost pair of laces the same may be readily detached from the carton and the con? tainer supporting the latter and sold. By the term carton in the specification and claims it is not intended to limit the box to a. ape! or fibre container, but to include a evice having the characteristics enumerated in the claims irrespective of the material from which it is fashioned. V
In Figs. 6 and 7 there is illustrated a modified form of the invention wherein the carton is comprised of the side walls 110, the end walls 111 and 112, the end wall 112 having the aperture 113 therein. Herein the canton has the back 114 and there is positioned within the carton thus formed a tray having a back 124,
the sides 12') and the flanges or ledges 116 forming the oppositely positioned groove 117, superposed upon the flanges 116 is another tray, said trays being preferably provided without ends, which tray and each succeed.-
' ing superposed tray includes a base 126 aperlized, may be applied to said carton to retain all of the laces within the same.
The invention claimed is:
1. A relatively open faced ship ing and dispensin carton including a batch, of oppositely positioned sides connected thereto, a relatively imperforate end connects a pair ing the sides and back to ether, another and oppositely positioned on connected to the sides and back and including a central out out portion therein with edges extending ontwardly to the free edgeot the end from adiacent the back and toward each side and terminating short of each side, top means secured to saidsides along substantially the entire length thereof and extending inwardly towards each other but terminating short of projecting beyond the cut out for display and dispensin fpur s, and partition means ex-. tending t e ful length of the carton upon opposite sides and extending inwardly towards each other andterminating shortoi meeting engagement, the space therehetwmn registering with the top spacing between the top means and in alignment with theend cut out for display and ispensin purposes.
A relati ly ope fa inn n dispensi g on includin a Is ak, a air' of oppositely positioned sides connected t ereip, a relative! imperforate end connecting t e sides and ack together, another and oppositely positioned end connected to the sides and back and including a central cut out portiontherein with edges extending outwardly to the free edge-of, the end from adjacent the back and-toward each side and terminating short of each side, top meanssecured to said sides alon substantially the entire length thereof an" extending inwardly towards each yond the cut out for display and dispensing purposes, and a U-shaped partition therein orming a plurality of compartmnts, the out out portion of the partition registering with the endcut out for dispensing purposes.
In witness whereof, I have hereunto affixed my signature.
DAVID LIPSCHUTZ.
