This inventionrelates to a irst aid kit designed to be used with automobiles and the like, the general obj ect oi' the invention being to provide a case containing gauze, bandages and the like, together with surgical instruments and medicines whereby iirst aid ycan be administered to injured and sick persons if an accident should occur or a person get sick a distance from a point where medical l0 attention could be received.

This invention also consists in certain other 'features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter iully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and speciiically pointed ont in the appended claim.

In describing my invention in detail, reiference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which z- Figure 1 is a perspective View of the case in open position.

Figure 2 is asimilar view with the case in closed condition.

Figure 3 is a plan view with the case in open position, with parts in section and parts broken away.

Figure 4 is a section on line 1r-l of Fignre 3.

In these views, A indicates a case which is composed of the sections 1, 2 and 3. The mid-v dle section 2 is hingedly connected with the outer sections 1 and 3 by hinges 4 which are connected with the inner edges of the sections 1 and 2 and with the rear side of the section 2 an appreciable distance from the edges thereof so that the middle section will partly enter the outer sections when the case is closed. A spring latch tongue 5 on each outer section is arranged to engage a keeper recess 6 on the end of the section 2 to hold each outer section in closed position.

A partition 7 is arranged in the section 1 a slight distance from the rear side thereof so as to form a long chamber at the rear of section 1. Transverse partitions 8 are also arranged in said section and extend from the front side thereof to the partition 7 and diinto a number of chambers. Each of these vide the section in front of the partition 7 chambers is provided witha lid 9 which is hinged to a partition and each lid has a spring latch tongue 10 for holding it closed. Partitions 11 may be used to divide the chambers formed by the partitions 8 into separate compartments and one ot these compartments may be provided with a separate lid, as shown at 9 in the drawings, this lid being held closed by its spring latch tongue 10 which engages the partition 7. Hooks 12 are arranged in the long chamber, these hooks being mainly designed to support tourniquets in said chamber and the other chambers may be used for holding gauze, bandages, linger pads and stalls and the like. n

The section 3 is also divided into a number of chambers by the partitions 13 and one of these chambers is made very largeand is divided into compartments by the partitions 14, this chamber being closed by the lid 15. The compartments of this chamber may be used for holding various kinds of pins, needles, buttons and the like. chambers formed by the partitions 13 is divided into a number of round chambers by the ring-shaped partitions 15 and an oblong chamber by the partition 16. Thesevchambers are each provided witha lid 17 ofthe same shape as the chamber.y The other chambers are closed by the lids 18, it being understood that all of the lids are provided with spring latch members. The chambers formed by the partitions'l and 16 maybe used i'or holding adhesive tape andthe like and the chambers closed by the lids 18 can be used for holdingbandages or any other article.

The secton 2 is divided into two chambers by the partition 19 and this partition carries the U-shaped clamps 20011 one of its faces for supporting bottles, such as shown at 21, which may contain medicines of various kinds, Hooks 22 are fastened to the other face of the partition 19 for holding scissors, knives, tweezers and other instruments.

From the foregoing it will be seen that I have produced an inexpensive case which may be used as a first aid kit in automobiles,

boats and the like, the device being compactly arranged so that it will occupy but little space in the vehicle.

It is thought from the foregoing descrip- One of the ltion that the advantages and novel features of my invention will be readily apparent.

I desire it to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the com- 5 bination and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall Within the scope of thel appended claim.

A iirst aid kit comprising a casingdivided 10 intothree box-like sections which are hingedly connected together With the outer sections overlapping the central section, partitions dividing each of the outer sections into compartments, one partition extending longitudinally invone section and spaced from the hinged edge of said section, therebyforming along narrow chamber, hooks carried by one Wall of said chamber, covers for closing some of the compartments, a rigid partition in the central section intermediate the ends thereof dividing the same into tWo chambers, spring gripping means on one face of the partition for holding bottles and the like and means on the other face of the partition for holding instruments.
