PRICE-TICKET HOLDER Application led .Tune 15,
This invention relates to a holder for displaying price tickets, cards and other closely analogous articles.
l More particularly the invention relates to a type of holder such as the one disclosed in my pending application, filed March 21,
1928, and having erial Number 263,429.
The principal object of this invention is to so construct parts of the holder of the 1o type referred to, as to facilitate the removal of the ticket or card, to thereby improve th holder in this respect.
The nature of the invention and its distinguishing features and advantages will appear when the following specification is read in connection with the accompanying drawing, in whichf Figure 1 is a front view of the holder with a price card in place. n
Fig. 2 is a back view of the holder. n
Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken on the line 3--3 of Fig. 2, showing the holder attached to the edge of a support in displaying position.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view similar to Fig. 3, but showing a relationship of parts which will permit the price card to be poked out of its normal position.
Fig. 5 is a sectional view taken on the line 5-5, of Fig. 2.
Referring now more particularly to the drawing, it will be apparent that the holder of the present invention comprises two main parts, a part 10 and a part 11, together with means which cooperatively associates the parts 10 and 11 with each other so as to removably hold .a price ticket or card, and also so as to enable the attachment of the holder to the edge of a table, shelf, counter or like support in a position to display the price ticket or card.- In the present instance the parts 10 and 11 are so formed as to enable a person to readily manipulate or flex the price ticket or card so that the same may be gripped for the purpose of removing the ticket or card from the holder.
The part 10 is stamped, bent and formed from a single piece of sheet metal to provide a plate or main flat body 12 having a channel 13 on each of the side edges, which terminates 192s. serial 1m28.5,6c'ev 'f short of the top edge thereof, atthe front ofi the body 12, a channel/Fat the lower ledge of the body 12 centrally thereof, a channell f on each of the side edgesat the backof-the body 12 at the top thereof, oval: shaped .poke` l holes 16, any apertured rlug- 17 struckfffrom4 the center of thebody 12 andy disposed rear-k wardly thereof,`and a gripping member 18 y on the lower edge of the body 1-2 `disposed rearwardlythereof.` i i The part 11 is stamped, vbentand formed from a single pieceof sheet metalto providey ak plate or flat body 19V havinga channel20 on the upper edge thereof which extends entirely lacross they kbody 19, a gripping mem 65` ber 21 on the lower edge of the body 19 dis?y posed rearwardlyy thereof, andthere being an opening 22 centrally of the body 19, and i circular poke.y holes 23 infthe`body19 respectively atopposite sides ofthe opening 70,- 22. The partll thus constructed is adapted to be associated with the part 10, the oppo? site side edgesof the body 19`being received respectively in ythe channels l15, 4with/the lug 17 p extending throughthe opening 22,and the poke holes 23j in registration respective-y ly with the kpoke holes 1.6, thesaid holes Y16 and 23 being in alignment for that purpose.,v The parts 10 and 11 are thus held for relative y movement' with respect to each other. 80
In order to set up a clamping or, gripping action between the gripping members 18 and 21 there is provided a pin 24 rigidly connected with the gripping member 21, and the said pin extends through' the hole in the lug 17 on the body 12 of the kpart 10. A spring 25 surrounds the pin 24 and has one end thereof in engagement with the gripping member 21 and the opposite end thereof is in engagement with the lug 17. It will now be apparent that by moving the part 11 relatively to the part 10, the gripping member 21 may be moved away from the gripping member 18 to accommodate the edge of a suitable support, such as the edge of a table, 95` E shelf or the like, the holder in its entirety being held in a displaying position by the gripping members 18 and 21, which are constantly under the action of the spring 25.
The part 10 of the holder serves for sup- 100f porting a price ticket or card, such as the one designated 26, the said ticket or card being heldin place by the channelsll?) and 14 Which receive the opposite side edges respectively 5 and the lower edge of the ticket or card. The
channel 20 on the body 19 of the part 11 receives the upper edge of the ticket or card 26, and the saidticket or cardis thus held against displacement.
When it is desired to remove the'ticket or card 26rom the holder, the part 11 is moved relatively to the part 10 sol as to disega'ge thev channel from the upper edge of the n ticket or card. The ticket or card maythen`v v 15 be manipulated by pokinglone of the lingers ofthe handlthroughthe registering holes 16 and 23,' to flex the disengaged edge of thev ticket or card rom'its normal' position as shown in Fig. 4. The pper edge of the ticket 2`orcard`may then beireadilyl gripped forthe pnrposeof removingthe Yticket or card' from' the channels 13 andl/Mof'thepartlO.
