The present invention has in view the rovision of a foldable wardrobe bag whic is so constructed that the garments may be readily placed in or removed therefrom and when the bag is closed provides a substan tially sealed container for the garments, thus preventing the entrance of moths and dust.

The invention contemplates a wardrobe bag with rectilinear side and end walls, each of the walls being constructed of flexible material which are joined together at their edges by a binding and so arranged that one of the sides may be opened its entire width in order that one or more garments may be readily inserted or removed therefrom andwith a continuous interlocking fastening means arranged about the three sides of the opening and the closure providing an effective means for sealing the container.

Another object in view is the rovision of a wardrobe bag with a rectangu ar opening on one side sothat the garments may be inserted therein endwise and any one of the garments therein may be removed with 2 out disturbing the rest of the garments.

With these and other objects in view the.

The flap or closure 19 is arranged to be closed by means of a continuous interlocking fastenin device 22 which extends continuously a ong the top, side and bottom free edges of the closure and along the corresponding edges of the opening in the wall 13. This fastening device may be of any preferred type or construction and, as shown in the drawings, is of the slide type consisting of two rows of interlocking elements 23 and 24 carried by strips of webbing 25 and 26 respectively and with a slide27 operating to engage and disengage the rows of interlocking elements. The webbing 25 carrying the row of interlocking elements 23 is secured to the binding along the edge 28 of the top wall 15 and along the vertical edge 29 of the side wall 11 and across the wall 13 at 30. The webbing strip 26 carrying the other row of interlocking elements 24 is secured to the binding along the top edge 31. vertical side edge 32 and bottom edge 33 of the flap or closure 19.

When in closed engagement the upper portion of the fastening device 22 lies in the plane of the top wall 15 and the vertical portion lies in the plane of the wall 11 and both of these project beyond the normal face of the wall 13.

The bag is provided with any suitable supporting frame 34 extending about the edges of the top wall 15 within the bag and with a supporting hook 35 projecting through a central opening in the top adapted to be hung Within the bag the hook 35 terminates in two oppositely extending members which connect at their ends to the sides of the frame, the said members being provided with a series of U-shaped bends on which garment hangers may be hung.

The closure 19 may be swung to open posltion and secured by the snap fasteners 21 to the wall 12, so that a full, unobstructed opening is provided to give access to the interior of the device and a clear vision of the interior, so as to insure the proper position of the garments in an unwrinkled condition therein.

One end of the frame 34 adjacent the opening in the wall 13 is located in a pocket formed by the top wall 15 and a strip of material 36 secured at its ends to the binding joining the top wall 15 and the side walls 11 and 12 and connected to the binding along the edge 28. This pocket prevents the hanger from projecting out through the opening in the wall 13 when the closure 19 is opened.

Having described my invention, I now claim:

1. A foldable garment bag constructed of flexible material and having side and end walls secured together at their edges to form a rectangular shaped bag in cross section, one of said side walls having an opening extending the full width of the said side and from the top edge of the bag substantially the full length of the side, a closure for said opening secured to the bag along one vertical edge, the free edges of said closure and the corresponding edges of said opening being provided with complementary fastening devices to hold the closure in closed relation, the said fastening devices when in closed position projecting beyond the normal face of the said side wall, the upper portion of said fastening devices lying in the plane of the top wall and the vertical portion of said fastening device lying in a plane at right angles to the side wall containing the said opening and a rectangular shaped supporting structure located in the top of the bag on which the said bag is hung.

2. A foldable garment bag constructed of flexible material and having side and end walls secured together at their edges to form a bag of rectangular shape in cross section, one of the sides of said bag having a rectangular shaped opening extending the full width of the said side and substantially the full length of the bag, a closure for said opening secured along one vertical edge of the bag, fastening means secured along three edges of said closure and cooperating fastening means secured along the corresponding edges of the opening for securing the closure in closed position, a rectangular shaped supporting structure located in the top of the bag on which the said bag is hung and a narrow strip of material secured along three of its edges to the underside of the top wall of DAYID LONDON.
