Abstract
A small-size grease gun includes a hollow main body, a grease nipple connected to a front end of the main body, a push rod elastically movably disposed in the main body, and a cylindrical grease container screwed to a sleeve vertically extended from a top of the main body. A rear section of the push rod is projected from a rear open end of the main body to connect to a knob. The grease container has a hold-down disc positioned therein and being normally pushed downward by a spring fixed to a lower side of a top cover of the grease container. An amount of grease filled in the grease container is forced into the main body by the hold-down disc. By pushing the rear section of the push rod into the main body, the grease is compressed to inject into a small-size pneumatic tool via the grease nipple.
Description
- The present invention relates to a small-size grease gun, and more particularly to a grease gun specially designed for conveniently and quickly injecting grease into a small-size pneumatic tool.
- Most of the currently commercially available grease guns are designed for greasing a large-scale machine table but not suitable for greasing small-size pneumatic tools. Therefore, operators of small-size pneumatic tools often have troubles in maintaining or repairing such small pneumatic tools due to lack of suitable grease guns.
- A primary object of the present invention is to provide a small-size grease gun suitable for injecting grease into small-size ball bearings of a pneumatic tool, so that the pneumatic tool could be maintained in a more convenient and quick manner.
- To achieve the above and other objects, the small-size grease gun of the present invention mainly includes a hollow main body, a grease nipple connected to a front end of the main body with a conical spring and a steel ball disposed between them, a push rod elastically movably associated with the main body, and a cylindrical grease container screwed to a sleeve vertically extended from a top of the main body. A front section of the push rod is located inside the main body with a spring put thereon, and a rear section of the push rod is projected from a rear open end of the main body to connect to a knob. The grease container has a hold-down disc positioned therein and being normally pushed downward by a spring fixed to a lower side of a top cover of the grease container. An amount of grease filled in the grease container is forced into the main body by the hold-down disc. By pushing the rear section of the push rod into the main body, the grease in the main body is compressed to inject into a small-size pneumatic tool via the grease nipple.
- The structure and the technical means adopted by the present invention to achieve the above and other objects can be best understood by referring to the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments and the accompanying drawings, wherein
- FIG. 1 is an assembled perspective view of a small-size grease gun according to the present invention;
- FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of FIG. 1;
- FIG. 3 is a sectional view of FIG. 1; and
- FIG. 4 shows the manner of using the small-size grease gun of the present invention.
- Please refer to FIGS. 1, 2, and3 at the same time, in which a small-
size grease gun 100 according to the present invention is shown. The small-size grease gun 100, as shown, mainly includes amain body 1 in the form of a hollow tubular member, agrease nipple 2 connected to a front end of themain body 1 with asteel ball 11 and aconical spring 12 disposed between them, apush rod 3 movably associated with themain body 1, and acylindrical grease container 7 connected to asleeve 13 vertically extended from a top of themain body 1. - A front section of the
push rod 3 is disposed inside themain body 1 with aspring 4 put thereon, and a rear section of thepush rod 3 is projected from a rear open end of themain body 1 while acap 5 is put around thepush rod 3 to close the rear open end of themain body 1. Aknob 6 is connected to a rear end of thepush rod 3 to enable comfortable pushing and pulling of thepush rod 3 at theknob 6. - The
cylindrical grease container 7 is provided at a lower end with alocking neck 71 havingexternal threads 711. And, thesleeve 13 on the top of themain body 1 is provided withinternal threads 131 meshing with theexternal threads 711 to enable firm connection of thegrease container 7 to thesleeve 13 of themain body 1 through engagement of theexternal threads 711 with theinternal threads 131. A hold-down disc 8 having an O-ring 81 mounted around an outer peripheral edge thereof is fitly positioned in thecylindrical grease container 7. Atop cover 9 is closed onto an upper open end of thegrease container 7 with aspring 91 fixedly connected to a lower side of thetop cover 9 to normally push the hold-downdisc 8 downward in thegrease container 7. - After the small-
size grease gun 100 is assembled from the above-mentioned components with thelocking neck 71 of thegrease container 7 screwed to thesleeve 13 of themain body 1, an amount of grease may be filled into thegrease container 7 before the hold-downdisc 8 is disposed into thegrease container 7 and thetop cover 9 is closed onto the upper open end of thegrease container 7. Thespring 91 fixed to the lower side of thetop cover 9 pushes the hold-downdisc 8 downward, forcing the grease in thegrease container 7 into themain body 1 for injection via thegrease nipple 2. - Please refer to FIG. 4 that shows the manner of using the small-
size grease gun 100 of the present invention. To use thegrease gun 100, first fill thegrease container 7 with an amount of grease. Allow thespring 91 and the hold-downdisc 8 to apply a downward pressure on the grease and thereby forces the same into the hollowmain body 1 via thesleeve 13. And then push theknob 6 toward themain body 1, so that the rear section of thepush rod 3 is moved into themain body 1. At this point, the grease in themain body 1 is compressed to inject into a small-size pneumatic tool via thegrease nipple 2. - Due to the small size of the grease gun of the present invention, it is particularly suitable for greasing small-size ball bearings in general pneumatic tools.
