- a weight device 16 is located between the two rails 14 and in front of the surface member 2 .
- the weight device 6 is electrically connected to the driving device 4 so that when a climber 17 stands on the weight device 6 as shown in FIG. 6, the driving device 4 is activated and drives the surface member 2 at a desired speed so that the climber 17 is able to climb as long as he or she can.
- the engagement between the recesses 111 , 121 , 131 and the protrusions 21 enhances the force of pulling the surface member 2 by the three shafts 11 , 12 and 13 .
- the circulation of the surface member 2 improves the limitation of height of the artificial climbing device in interior.
- FIGS. 7 to 9 show that the inclination of the surface member 2 can be adjusted by removing the front shaft 11 from one notch to another of the positioning device 15 .
Abstract
A rock climbing device includes two rails each have a slot and a front shaft is positioned between the two rails by engaging with a positioning device in the slots. A rear shaft is fixed connected between the two rails. Two pairs of bars are pivotably connected to a top shaft at one end thereof and the other end of the bars are respectively connected to the front shaft and the, rear shaft. A circular surface member is movably mounted to the front shaft, the rear shaft and the top frame. A plurality of grasp members are removably connected to the surface member and a driving device circulates the surface member.
Description
- The present invention relates to rock climbing device which has a surface member with climbing spots and the surface plate is connected to a triangular frame.
- A conventional-way to enjoy rock climbing is to find a cliff or a rock and the climber climbs the rock by using his/her limbs catching the notches or protrusions on the surface of the rock. The exercise requires a nature site which has the conditions that meet the needs of the climbers. Weather is an important factor which, in a certain level, affects the climbers to climb the rock safely. Another way to enjoy the exercise is to find an artificial climbing site which is built in interior. Nevertheless, the height in a building is limited so that it is impossible to build a rock that is high-enough to allow the climbers to climb. Besides, different climbers need different inclination of the artificial rock so that it needs a large area to build the rock that includes different inclined surface for the climbers.
- The present invention intends to provide a rock climbing device which has a movable surface member which circulates on a frame and the inclination of the frame can be easily adjusted to create different inclinations.
- In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a rock climbing device which comprises two rails each having a slot and a positioning device is connected to the two rails. A front shaft is positioned between the two rails by engaging with the positioning device. A rear shaft is fixed connected between the two rails and two pairs of bars are pivotably connected to a top shaft at one end thereof and the other end of the bars is connected to the front shaft and the rear shaft.
- A circular surface member is movably mounted to the front shaft, the rear shaft and the top frame. A plurality of grasp members are removably connected to the surface member and a driving device circulates the surface member.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the rock climbing device of the present invention;
- FIG. 2 is a side view to show the rock climbing device of the present invention;
- FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view to show the surface member of the rock climbing device of the present invention;
- FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view to show the engagement between the surface member and the three shafts;
- FIG. 5 shows the grasp member is supported by the support frame on the surface member;
- FIG. 6 shows the climber stands on the weight device;
- FIGS.7 to 9 show the rock climbing device is adjusted to have different inclination of the surface member, and
- FIG. 10 shows different grasp members used on the surface member.
- Referring to FIGS.1 to 4, the rock climbing device of the present invention comprises two
rails 14 each have a slot defined therethrough and apositioning device 15 is connected to the tworails 14. Thepositioning device 15 includes a plurality of notches defined in an inside of each of the slits in therails 14. Afront shaft 11 is positioned between the tworails 14 by engaging with one of the notches of thepositioning device 15 so that thefront shaft 11 can be moved along the direction of therails 14. Arear shaft 12 is fixed connected between the tworails 14. Two pairs oftriangular bars 1 are pivotably connected to atop shaft 13 at one end thereof and the other end of thebars 1 is connected to thefront shaft 11 and therear shaft 12 respectively. - A
circular surface member 2 made of Polyurethane is movably mounted to thefront shaft 11, therear shaft 12 and thetop frame 13′. Adriving device 4 is connected to thesurface member 2 and circulates thesurface member 2 about the threeshafts - The
surface member 2 includes a plurality ofprotrusions 21 extending from a first side thereof and each of thefront shaft 11, therear shaft 12 and thetop shaft 13 has recesses 111, 121, 131 for receiving theprotrusions 21. Further referring to FIG. 5, thesurface member 2 includes a plurality ofsupport frames 22 connected to a second side thereof and agrasp member 31 is removably engaged with eachsupport frame 22, Thegrasp member 31 can be designed to be different sizes andshapes 31 a 31 b and 31 c as shown in FIG. 10. - A
weight device 16 is located between the tworails 14 and in front of thesurface member 2. The weight device 6 is electrically connected to thedriving device 4 so that when aclimber 17 stands on the weight device 6 as shown in FIG. 6, thedriving device 4 is activated and drives thesurface member 2 at a desired speed so that theclimber 17 is able to climb as long as he or she can. The engagement between the recesses 111, 121, 131 and theprotrusions 21 enhances the force of pulling thesurface member 2 by the threeshafts surface member 2 improves the limitation of height of the artificial climbing device in interior. - FIGS.7 to 9 show that the inclination of the
surface member 2 can be adjusted by removing thefront shaft 11 from one notch to another of thepositioning device 15. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
Claims (5)
1. A rock climbing device comprising:
two rails each having a slot defined therethrough and a positioning device connected to the two rails;
a front shaft positioned between the two rails by engaging with the positioning device;
a rear shaft fixed connected between the two rails;
two pairs of bars pivotably connected to a top shaft at one end thereof and the other end of the bars connected to the front shaft and the rear shaft;
a circular surface member movably mounted to the front shaft, the rear shaft and the top frame, a plurality of grasp members removably connected to the surface member, and
a driving device circulating the surface member.
2. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the positioning device includes a plurality of notches defined in an inside of each of the slits in the rails.
3. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the surface member includes a plurality of protrusions extending from a first side thereof and each of the front shaft, the rear shaft and the top shaft has recesses for receiving the protrusions.
4. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the surface member includes a plurality of support frames connected to a second side thereof and each support frame is connected to one grasp member.
5. The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a weight device is located between the two rails and in front of the surface member, the weight device electrically connected to the driving device.
