- the present invention relates to the field of magnetic holders for holding objects onto metallic surfaces, to the application of combining a elastic body and a magnetic strip, and to the usage of latex or related materials as bonding agents for fastening a magnetic strip to a elastic body.
- This invention relates to a magnetic holder which allows users to hold a object onto any place with metallic surface available. Despite its holding power, the folder is foldable, soft and small enough to keep in a pocket or purse. This capability makes it suitable for a wide range of applications from being a simple drinking bottle holder to a tool holding device which provides users more freedom to do a particular task. It can also be used as an unintrusive storage device or space saver as long as there is metallic surface available, such as on refrigerators, cars, metal instruments, metal walls or frames.

Abstract
A magnetic holder for objects which comprises a hollow cylindrical elastic body and a magnetic strip attached to inwardly facing side of a elastic body. A thin coat of latex material is applied onto the magnetic strip so that the magnetic strip is tightly adhered to the elastic body. The magnet exerts a sufficient amount of magnetic attraction through the elastic body to hold the object to any metallic surface. The elastic body can be constructed from rubber or similar materials. The location of the magnetic strip in inward facing side of the elastic body is designed to prevent the magnetic strip from direct contact with metallic surfaces and minimize the possibility of scratching. This magnetic holder can hold a variety of objects and can be used during activities. This holder is as small as a rubber band, soft, and very convenient, It can be stored in a purse, a pocket or can be attached to any metallic surface so it does not take up space. The holder is lightweight and very easy to use. It has non-slip properties so a person can have a good grip of object.
Description
-
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED NOT APPLICABLE APPLICATION FEDERALLY SPONSORED RESEARCH NOT APPLICABLE SEQUENCE LISTING OR PROGRAM NOT APPLICABLE - The present invention relates to the field of magnetic holders for holding objects onto metallic surfaces, to the application of combining a elastic body and a magnetic strip, and to the usage of latex or related materials as bonding agents for fastening a magnetic strip to a elastic body.
The advantages of present invention are small-size, lightweight, easy to use and manufacture. The holder contains an elastic material to provide a good grip of, and ensure a tight fit around objects
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the magnetic holder;
- FIG. 2 is a top plan view of the horizontal cross section thereof;
- FIG. 3 is a side section view of the vertical cross section, through the magnet, thereof;
- FIG. 4 is an operational view of the magnetic holder, illustrating the device holding a bottle onto a metallic surface. The bottle and metal surface shown in dotted outline are not part of the claimed design.
- In FIG. 1 to FIG. 4, the numbers designate the various key components of the, magnetic holder:
number 101, the elastic body; thenumber 102, the magnet; thenumber 103, the coated latex. FIG. 1 shows only the elastic body and the coated latex, since the magnet is hidden underneath the latex. The latex coated magnet is better illustrated in the cross-sectional view of the holder, as in FIG. 2, or the vertical-sectional view, as in FIG. 3. FIG. 4 illustrates an application in which the holder attaching a bottle onto a metallic surface; as in FIG. 1, the embedded magnet is hidden in the portion of the elastic body located between the bottle and the metallic surface. - Various modification may be made of the invention without departing from the scope thereof and it is desired, therefore, that only such limitation shall be placed thereon as are imposed by the prior art.
Claims (3)
1. A magnetic holder which comprises a hollow cylindrical elastic body and a latex-coated magnetic strip.
2. The magnetic holder of claim 1 wherein said magnetic strip is fastened inward-facing side of the elastic body.
3. The magnetic holder of claim 2 wherein said magnetic strip is covered with a thin layer of latex or related materials.
