Abstract

A hockey stick has a blade, on which slots are provided in a predetermined profile.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to a hockey stick, and more particularly to a hockey stick with a specific profile on the blade thereof.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • A conventional hockey stick has a blade with a smooth face. Some players wind tapes on the blade to improve the capacity of controlling the ball. The tape wound on the blade increases the friction between the blade and the ball; in addition, it increases the friction between the blade and the ice as well. The friction between the blade and the ice makes the stick swinging not smoothly, and the tape is worn after several times of swing.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a hockey stick, which has a well capacity of controlling the ball.
  • According to the objective of the present invention, a hockey stick has a blade, on which a predetermined profile is provided to improve the capacity of controlling ball.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a front view of a first preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a top view of the first preferred embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a front view of a second preferred embodiment of the present invention, and
  • FIG. 4 is a front view of a third preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a hockey stick 10 of the first preferred embodiment of the present invention, which is made of carbon fibers prepreg epoxy resin and molded into a single unit, has a blade 11 has a plurality of straight and parallel slots 12. The slots 12 of the blade 11, which serves the function similar to the profile of the face of the golf club, increase the friction between the blade 11 and a ball (not shown), such that the player can spin the ball by the stick 10 of the present invention.
  • As shown in FIG. 2, a blade 21 of the second preferred embodiment of the present invention has a plurality of curved slots 22. As shown in FIG. 3, a blade 31 of the third preferred embodiment of the present invention has a plurality of curved slots 32, and the orientations of the slots 31 are opposite to that of slots 21.

Claims (4)

1. A hockey stick comprising a blade, on which a plurality of slots are provided in a predetermined profile.
2. The hockey stick as defined in claim 1, wherein the slots are straight.
3. The hockey stick as defined in claim 2, wherein the stick is made of a fiber reinforced resin and is molded into a single unit, and the slots, which are straight, are molded on the blade directly.
4. The hockey stick as defined in claim 1, wherein the slots are curved.
