Abstract
A bath sponge includes a base sponge member having an axis, and a supplementary sponge member coaxially symmetrically surrounded around the center area of the base sponge member. The supplementary sponge member shows with the base sponge member a rounded sponge shape.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a personal body cleaning product and more particularly, to a bath sponge, which has different materials or colors.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional bath sponge, for example, a diamond-mesh polyethylene netting sponge according to U.S. Pat. No. 5,144,744, is obtained from a number of netting tubes stretched over supports, joined and bound together at the center and the released from the supports. However, the netting tubes of the netting sponge of the aforesaid prior art design are made from one single material, i.e., polyethylene, so that the netting sponge provides only one roughness. It is neither practical nor comfortable to use a bath sponge having only one single roughness for cleaning different parts of the body. Therefore, a person may have to prepare several bath sponges having different roughness for cleaning different parts of the body.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a bath sponge, which combines different cleaning materials for different applications conveniently.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a bath sponge, which is prepared from cleaning materials of different colors, thereby causing a sense of beauty.
- To achieve these objects of the present invention, the bath sponge comprises a base sponge member, which has an axis, and at least one supplementary sponge member coaxially fastened to the base sponge member and showing with the base sponge member a rounded sponge shape. The at least one supplementary sponge member includes multiple supplementary sponge members that surround one another concentrically.
-
FIG. 1 is a front view of a bath sponge according to a first preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a side view of the bath sponge according to the first preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a side view of a bath sponge according to a second preferred embodiment of the present invention. - Referring to
FIG. 1 , abath sponge 10 in accordance with a first preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown comprised of abase sponge member 11, a firstsupplementary sponge member 13, and a secondsupplementary sponge member 15. - The
base sponge member 11 is obtained from a smooth elastic netting tube, having anaxis 19. The smooth elastic netting tube is stretched in a direction transverse to the axis of thebase sponge member 11 and then tied up with a binding strip (not shown) and then released from the stretched condition, whereby thebase sponge member 11 through its resiliency rebounds into a rounded sponge shape around the binding strip. - The first
supplementary sponge member 13 is obtained from a wrinkled elastic netting tube, having meshes bigger than the smooth elastic netting tube of thebase sponge member 11. The firstsupplementary sponge member 13 is fastened to the center area of thebase sponge member 11 in a coaxial manner relative to the axis of thebase sponge member 11, having the outer periphery thereof annually symmetrically surround the outer periphery of thebase sponge member 11 to form a ring surrounding thebase sponge member 11. - The second
supplementary sponge member 15 is obtained from an elastic netting tube, having meshes bigger than the firstsupplementary sponge member 13. The secondsupplementary sponge member 15 is fastened to the center area of the firstsupplementary sponge member 13 in a coaxial manner relative to the axis of thebase sponge member 11, having the outer periphery thereof annually symmetrically surround the outer periphery of the firstsupplementary sponge member 13 to form another ring surrounding the firstsupplementary sponge member 13. - As shown in
FIG. 1 , thebath sponge 10 shows a multilayer structure. As shown inFIG. 2 , thebase sponge member 11, the firstsupplementary sponge member 13 and the secondsupplementary sponge member 15 surround one another in a concentric manner when fastened together. - When in use, the user can selectively use the
base sponge member 11, the firstsupplementary sponge member 13, or the secondsupplementary sponge member 15 to clean the body. For example, when cleaning a sensitive skin area such as the face, use thebase sponge member 11 to remove the dirt from the face; when cleaning a less sensitive skin area such as the hands or the legs, use the firstsupplementary sponge member 13 or the secondsupplementary sponge member 15 to remove the dirt. Because thebase sponge member 11, the firstsupplementary sponge member 13, and the secondsupplementary sponge member 15 are fastened together, the user can use thebath sponge 10 to clean different parts of the body with materials of different roughness conveniently, achieving a satisfactory cleaning effect. - Further, the
base sponge member 11, the firstsupplementary sponge member 13, and the secondsupplementary sponge member 15 can be prepared from different woven netting tubes in different colors to provide a color combination that causes a sense of beauty. -
FIG. 3 shows a bath sponge according to a second preferred embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, thebath sponge 20 comprises abase sponge member 21 and asupplementary sponge member 22 fastened to the center area of thebase sponge member 21 in a coaxial manner. - Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
