Abstract

A business card combination, comprised of a card body which has at least two severable sections, one severable section is a business card and another section is a Texas Hold'em Card; in which the Texas Hold'em Card has hidden representations of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards, with two of those hidden representations being separately identifiable, and in which the covering hiding the representations of the playing cards can be easily removed; and in which the rules of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates in general to printed promotional items and promotional gambling games, and in particular to business cards and the like and no-loss gambling cards and tickets.

BACKGROUND ART

Business cards have been a promotional and identification staple of all types of businesses and professionals for many decades. The extremely common nature of the business card coupled with over a century of use has made it more difficult for a person to get potential customers interested in paying attention to business cards. Printing companies have tried various means to make business cards more appealing or unique. The prior art of the business card, includes business cards with raised lettering, business cards with a photograph of the person the card is identifying, and business cards with maps to help locate the business, to name just a few.
Gambling has always been popular, and in particular the different poker games have been very popular for over a century. Normally poker games require a deck of cards and more than one person. It is also the usual situation that in order to play any of the poker games a person has to risk a loss (e.g. make a bet). However, no-loss or no-cost poker has also been a possibility, for those who play “for fun”, betting nothing, and therefore risking no loss but also having no chance of a gain. Presently, some businesses, typically bars, have begun to offer no-loss or no-cost poker to people who come into the bar or other business that is offering such a game. An example of the way in which such no-loss or no-cost poker game is run, is that people are invited to come into a business establishment, where they are given chips or other betting tokens. They do not pay anything to receive the chips or betting tokens. A game, or multiple games, are organized by the business establishment and played in the establishment by the people who have come in to play. It is also common to give the winner or winners of those games a prize. That is a nice promotional concept, and can draw people to the business establishment, and also allow them to play a poker game, in which they risk no loss but can win a gain.
However, in order to play the free poker game described above, the person does have to go into the business establishment, become part of that game system, and spend their time there playing the game. In addition, such a free poker game offering will not in-and-of-itself cause the people to pay more attention to the business cards of the establishment in which they are playing the free poker game. It is also the situation that the providing and running of such free poker games takes up the time of the people who are running them, and uses space in the business's premises.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An object of this invention was to provide a new type of business card combination that should cause people to be more interested in the business card portion of the combination than they would have been if the business card had been given to them just by itself
A second object of this invention was to provide a new way of presenting business cards that should interest people who like poker.
A third object of this invention was to provide a business card poker game combination that could be played by a single person.
A fourth object of the invention was to provide a business card poker game combination that met all of the preceding three objects and also allowed for the possibility of players being able to win something by playing the poker game portion of the combination.
The objects of the invention are accomplished by a business card combination, comprised of a card body on which there are a minimum of two identifiable and easily severable sections, a first of which sections is a business card, and a second of which sections is a Texas Hold'em Card; wherein the Texas Hold'em Card has 52 distinct locations on it, with the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards printed in each of the 52 distinct locations; and in which two of the 52 distinct locations are separately identifiable from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations; and in which there is a removable covering hiding each of the representations of the fifty-two cards; and in which the rules of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section.
The instant invention accomplishes its objectives by the invention of a new type of Texas Hold'em Card that can be played by one person, which is made in combination with a business card, such that the business card is easily detachable from the Texas Hold'em Card In that way the business card and Texas Hold'em Card are handed out as a single unit. A person, and especially a person that likes poker games, who receives the business card Texas Hold'em card combination will very likely examine the combination, including the business card portion, because of its uniqueness or to learn how to play the Texas Hold'em game. Many people will also play the Texas Hold'em game, especially if it allows for the possibility of them winning something. Consequently, many people will also become more interested in the business card that came with the combination.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention the coverings which hide each of the representations of the fifty-two cards are opaque scratch off coverings. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the manner of play of the Texas Hold'em game allows for the player to win a prize if the player uncovers one of the prize winning hands and follows the rules of play. In addition, in the preferred embodiment, the manner of play and how to obtain information on how to collect any won prize is also printed on the Texas Hold'em game card.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 shows a preferred embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the present invention, in which a line of perforations separate the business card portion from the Texas Hold'em card portion, before the playing card representations, the business card image, and the text has been printed on it.
FIG. 2 shows the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1 of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the present invention, after the opaque covering has been placed over the representations of the playing cards.

FIG. 5 shows an embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the present invention, in which a line of perforations separate the business card portion from the Texas Hold'em card portion, and in which the card faces of the Texas Hold'em card portion are each covered by a tear off tab, before the business card image and the text has been printed on it.
FIG. 6 shows an embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the present invention, in which a line of perforations separate the business card portion from the Texas Hold'em card portion, and in which the card faces of the Texas Hold'em card portion are each covered by a peel off sticker, before the business card image, and the text has been printed on it.
FIG. 7 shows an embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the present invention, in which a line of perforations separate the business card portion from the Texas Hold'em card portion, and which also contains a third peel off portion, before the business card image and the text has been printed on it.
FIG. 8 shows an embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the present invention, in which a line of perforations separate the business card portion from the Texas Hold'em card portion, and which also contains a third area which has three removable perforated sections, before the business card image and the text has been printed on it.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate a preferred embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the invention, made up of a card body 10, which has two identifiable and easily severable sections 11 and 12 a, a first of which sections, section 11, is of the size of a standard business card and would have the image (not shown) of a business card printed on it, and a second of which sections, section 12 a, is a Texas Hold'em Card, sections 11 and 12 a are separated by a line of perforations as at 15, which allows sections 11 and 12 a to be easily separated from each other, the Texas Hold'em Card section; section 12 a, has 52 distinct locations on it, with two of those 52 distinct locations, 13 a and 13 b, being in a separately identifiable area of the Texas Hold'em Card section 12 a, the remaining 50 of those distinct locations 14, are also in the Texas Hold'em Card section, the image (not shown) of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is printed, without any apparent order, in each of the 52 distinct locations 14 and 13 a and 13 b of the Texas Hold'em Card section 12 a, an opaque scratch off covering 16 is put over top of the playing card images in each of the 52 distinct locations 14 and 13 a and 13 b, on the front of section 12 a; the rules (not shown) of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section, and the manner of play (not shown), which tells the player how to win a prize and provides information on where to find out how to collect any won prize are also printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section, preferably on the back.
The specific rules of play for the Texas Hold'em game are not relevant to the invention as long as they allow a single person to play at least one Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em game card section 12 a. The preferred manner of play for the embodiment of a Texas Hold'em game card shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is: to list specific hands (eg. Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, and Straight) on the front and/or back of the Texas Hold'em game card; and also to list what prize the player will win if, within the confines of the rules, the player reveals one of the specific listed hands; and to explain what the player has to do to find out how to collect a prize. The preferred rules of play for the embodiment of a Texas Hold'em game card shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is: (i) the player scratches off the covering from the two of the 52 distinct locations 13 a and 13 b that are in a separately identifiable area of the Texas Hold'em game card section 12 a; and (ii) the player scratches off a maximum of 5 of the remaining 50 of the distinct locations 14; and (iii) the player is then entitled to claim as his hand the two cards the player obtained by scratching off the two of the 52 distinct locations 13 a and 13 b that are in the separately identifiable area of the Texas Hold'em game card section 12 a, plus at the player's option, any 3 of the 5 cards shown in the 5 locations which the player scratched off in the remaining 50 of the distinct locations 14. If the player's hand matches any of the listed hands, then the player wins the specified prize, and by reading the instructions learns how to go about finding out how to obtain the prize.
FIG. 3 and 4 illustrate another preferred embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the invention, made up of a card body 21, which has two identifiable and easily severable sections 11 b and 19, a first of which sections, section 11 b, is able to be easily peeled off of the card body 21 and is of the size of a standard business card and would have the image (not shown) of a business card printed on it, and a second of which sections, section 19, is a Texas Hold'em Card, which has 52 distinct locations 17 and 18 a and 18 b on it, with two of those 52 distinct locations, 18 a and 18 b, being in a separately identifiable area of section 19, the Texas Hold'em Card section, and the remaining 50 of those distinct locations 17, are also in the Texas Hold'em Card section, the image (not shown) of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is printed, without any apparent order, in each of the 52 distinct locations 17 and 18 a and 18 b of the Texas Hold'em Card section 19, an opaque peel off covering is put over top of the playing card images in each of the 52 distinct locations 17 and 18 a and 18 b, on the front of section 19, the rules (not shown) of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed, and the manner of play (not shown), which tells the player how to win a prize and provides information on where to find out how to collect any won prize are also printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section, preferably on the back.
The specific rules of play for the Texas Hold'em game are not relevant to the invention as long as they allow a single person to play at least one Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em game card section 12 a. Another manner of play for the embodiment of a Texas Hold'em game card shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 is to list specific hands (eg. Royal or Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Two pair of Aces) on the front and/or back of the Texas Hold'em game card, and also to list what prize the player will win if, within the confines of the rules, the player reveals one of the specific listed hands, and to explain what the player has to do to find out how to collect a prize. Another possible rule of play for the embodiment of a Texas Hold'em game card shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is: (i) the player peels off the covering from one of the 52 distinct locations 18 a and 18 b that are in a separately identifiable area of the Texas Hold'em game card section 19, and (ii) the player peels off a maximum of 6 of the remaining 50 of the distinct locations 17, and (iii) the player is then entitled to claim as his hand the card the player obtained by peeling off one of the two of the 52 distinct locations 18 a and 18 b that are in the separately identifiable area of the Texas Hold'em game card section 19, plus at the player's option, any 4 of the 6 cards shown in the 6 locations which the player peeled off in the remaining 50 of the distinct locations 19. If the player's hand matches any of the listed hands, then the player wins the specified prize, and by reading the instructions learns how to go about finding out how to obtain the prize. Another variation of the rules could allow the player to peel off any 7 of the 52 distinct locations 17 and 18 a and 18 b, and use any 5 of the 7 revealed cards.
FIGS. 5 illustrates a preferred embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the invention, made up of a card body 10, which has two identifiable and easily severable sections 11 and 12 a, a first of which sections, section 11, is of the size of a standard business card and would have the image (not shown) of a business card printed on it, and a second of which sections, section 12 a, is a Texas Hold'em Card, sections 11 and 12 a are separated by a line of perforations as at 15, which allows sections 11 and 12 a to be easily separated from each other; the Texas Hold'em Card section, section 12 a, has 52 distinct locations on it, with two of those 52 distinct locations, as at 24, being separately identifiable on the Texas Hold'em Card section 12 a, the remaining 50 of those distinct locations 22, are also in the Texas Hold'em Card section, the image (not shown) of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is printed, without any apparent order, in each of the 52 distinct locations of the Texas Hold'em Card section, an opaque tear off covering, one of which can be seen in a partially torn off state at 23, is put over top of the playing card images in each of the 52 distinct locations; on the front and/or back of the Texas Hold'em Card section 12 a, the rules (not shown) of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using are printed, and the manner of play (not shown), which tells the player how to win a prize and provides information on where to find out how to collect any won prize are printed on the front and/or back of the Texas Hold'em Card section.
FIGS. 6 illustrates a preferred embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the invention, made up of a card body 10, which has two identifiable and easily severable sections 11 and 12 a, a first of which sections, section 11, is of the size of a standard business card and would have the image (not shown) of a business card printed on it, and a second of which sections, section 12 a, is a Texas Hold'em Card, sections 11 and 12 a are separated by a line of perforations as at 15, which allows sections 11 and 12 a to be easily separated from each other, the Texas Hold'em Card section, section 12 a, has 52 distinct locations 25 and 26 a and 26 b on it, the image (not shown) of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is printed, without any apparent order, in each of the 52 distinct locations of the Texas Hold'em Card section, an opaque peel off covering, one of which can be seen in a partially peeled off state at 27, is put over top of the playing card images in each of the 52 distinct locations, with two of those 52 distinct locations, 26 a and 26 b, being separately identifiable by having an identifying mark on their peel off cover that is not on any of the other peel off covers of the remaining SO of those distinct locations 25; also in the Texas Hold'em Card section, on the front and/or back, the rules (not shown) of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed together with the manner of play (not shown), which tells the player how to win a prize and provides information on where to find out how to collect any won prize are also printed on the front and/or back of the Texas Hold'em Card section.
FIGS. 7 illustrates an embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the invention, made up of a card body 10, which has three identifiable and easily severable sections 11, 12 a and 28, a first of which sections, section 11, is of the size of a standard business card and would have the image (not shown) of a business card printed on it, and a second of which sections, section 12 a, is a Texas Hold'em Card, sections 11 and 12 a are separated by a line of perforations as at 15, which allows sections 11 and 12 a to be easily separated from each other, the third of the sections 28 is a peel off section, which can have the image (not shown) of a business card or coupon or anything else printed on it, the Texas Hold'em Card section, section 12 a, has 52 distinct locations 29 and 30 a and 30 b on it, the image (not shown) of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is printed, without any apparent order, in each of the 52 distinct locations of the Texas Hold'em Card section, an opaque peel off covering, one of which can be seen in a partially peeled off state at 31, is put over top of the playing card images in each of the 52 distinct locations, with two of those 52 distinct locations, 30 a and 30 b, being separately identifiable because of their placement away from the other 50 of those distinct locations 29; also in the Texas Hold'em Card section, on the front and/or back, the rules (not shown) of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed together with the manner of play (not shown), which tells the player how to win a prize and provides information on where to find out how to collect any won prize are also printed on the front and/or back of the Texas Hold'em Card section.
FIGS. 8 illustrates an embodiment of a business card Texas Hold'em card combination of the invention, made up of a card body 33, which has multiple identifiable and easily severable sections 11, 34 and 32, a first of which sections, section 11, is of the size of a standard business card and would have the image (not shown) of a business card printed on it, and a second of which sections, section 34, is a Texas Hold'em Card, sections 11 and 34 are separated by a line of perforations as at 15, which allows sections 11 and 34 to be easily separated from each other, sections 32 are also separated by lines of perforations and can thereby be easily separated from each other and from section 34 to which they are connected by a line of perforations, each of the severable sections 32 can have anything printed in them, the Texas Hold'em Card section, section 34, has 52 distinct locations 29 and 30 a and 30 b on it, the image (not shown) of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is printed, without any apparent order, in each of the 52 distinct locations of the Texas Hold'em Card section, an opaque peel off covering is put over top of the playing card images in each of the 52 distinct locations, with two of those 52 distinct locations, 30 a and 30 b, being separately identifiable because of their placement away from the other 50 of those distinct locations 29; also in the Texas Hold'em Card section, on the front and/or back, the rules (not shown) of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed together with the manner of play (not shown), which tells the player how to win a prize and provides information on where to find out how to collect any won prize are also printed on the front and/or back of the Texas Hold'em Card section.
Allowing a prize to be won is not an essential part of the invention, however it is part of the preferred embodiments. Variations to the invention can be made, as discussed and explained above, in addition other variations will be obvious to those skilled in the art, and they are covered by the appended claims, as they are within the scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A business card combination, comprised of a card body which has a minimum of two identifiable and easily severable sections, a first of which sections is a business card, and a second of which sections is a Texas Hold'em Card; wherein the Texas Hold'em Card has 52 distinct locations on it, with the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards printed in each of the 52 distinct locations; and in which two of the 52 distinct locations are separately identifiable on the Texas Hold'em Card section, such that they are visibly distinguishable from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations; and in which there is a removable covering hiding each of the representations of the fifty-two cards; and in which the rules of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section.

2. A business card combination, comprised of a card body which has a minimum of two identifiable and easily severable sections, a first of which sections is a business card, and a second of which sections is a Texas Hold'em Card; wherein the Texas Hold'em Card has 52 distinct locations on it, with the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards printed in each of the 52 distinct locations; and in which two of the 52 distinct locations are separately identifiable on the Texas Hold'em Card section, such that they are visibly distinguishable from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations; and in which there is a removable covering hiding each of the representations of the fifty-two cards; and in which the rules of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section, and in which there is also printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section information on how to win a prize by playing the Texas Hold'em Card game.

3. A business card combination, comprised of a card body which has a minimum of three identifiable and easily severable sections, a first of which sections is a business card, a second of which sections is a Texas Hold'em Card; wherein the Texas Hold'em Card has 52 distinct locations on it, with the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards printed in each of the 52 distinct locations; and in which two of the 52 distinct locations are separately identifiable on the Texas Hold'em Card section, such that they are visibly distinguishable from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations; and in which there is a removable covering hiding each of the representations of the fifty-two cards; and the third of which sections contains printed material; and in which the rules of how to play a Texas Hold'em game using the Texas Hold'em Card section are printed on the Texas Hold'em Card section.

4. A business card combination, as defined in claim 1, wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily torn off of the Texas Hold'em Card section.

5. A business card combination, as defined in claim 1, wherein the business card can be removed from the card body by easily peeling it off of the card body.

6. A business card combination, as defined in claim 2, wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily tom off of the Texas Hold'em Card section.

7. A business card combination, as defined in claim 2, wherein the business card can be removed from the card body by easily peeling it off of the card body.

8. A business card combination, as defined in claim 3, wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily tom off of the Texas Hold'em Card section.

9. A business card combination, as defined in claim 3, wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein there is a line of perforations between the second and third sections, and wherein the lines of perforations allow the first section to be easily torn off of the second section, and the second section to be easily tom off of the third section.

10. A business card combination, as defined in claim 1, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card.

11. A business card combination, as defined in claim 2, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card.

12. A business card combination, as defined in claim 3, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card.

13. A business card combination, as defined in claim 1, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card; and wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily tom off of the Texas Hold'em Card section.

A business card combination, as defined in claim 2, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card; and wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily torn off of the Texas Hold'em Card section.

15. A business card combination, as defined in claim 3, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card; and wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily torn off of the Texas Hold'em Card section.

16. A business card combination, as defined in claim 1, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card; and wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily torn off of the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the two of the 52 distinct locations that are separately identifiable on the Texas Hold'em Card section, such that they are visibly distinguishable from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations, are in a visibly distinct location on the Texas Hold'em Card from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations.

A business card combination, as defined in claim 2, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card; and wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily torn off of the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the two of the 52 distinct locations that are separately identifiable on the Texas Hold'em Card section, such that they are visibly distinguishable from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations, are in a visibly distinct location on the Texas Hold'em Card from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations.

A business card combination, as defined in claim 3, wherein the representation of a unique one of each of the fifty-two cards of a standard deck of playing cards is an image of that playing card; and wherein there is a line of perforations between the first section, which is the business card, and the second section, which is the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the line of perforations allows the business card to be easily torn off of the Texas Hold'em Card section; and wherein the two of the 52 distinct locations that are separately identifiable on the Texas Hold'em Card section, such that they are visibly distinguishable from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations, are in a visibly distinct location on the Texas Hold'em Card from the remaining 50 of the 52 distinct locations.

19. A business card combination, as defined in claim 1, wherein the removable covering hiding each of the representations of the fifty-two cards is an opaque scratch off covering.

20. A business card combination, as defined in claim 2, wherein the removable covering hiding each of the representations of the fifty-two cards is an opaque scratch off covering.
