Abstract

A ball structure includes a bladder and multiple outer layers attached to an outer periphery of the bladder. The bladder has multiple dimples defined in an outer periphery thereof so that after the outer layers are attached to the outer periphery of the bladder, the dimples appear on the outer layers.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a ball structure, and more particularly to a ball structure having a bladder provided with multiple first dimples defined in an outer periphery thereof so that when outer layers are attached to the outer periphery of the bladder, second dimples are defined in an outer periphery of the ball.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • A conventional ball structure is composed of a bladder and multiple outer layers attached to an outer periphery of the bladder. Normally each of the outer layer is provided with multiple protrusions such that the player is able to have a firm grip of the ball when playing with the ball. However, after a period of time playing with the ball, the protrusions are worn out due to friction with the ground. Therefore, the player no longer has a firm grip to the ball after the protrusions are worn. That is, the conventional ball can only last for a short period of time
  • To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide an improved ball structure to mitigate the aforementioned problems.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved ball structure having a bladder with multiple dimples defined in an outer periphery of the bladder such that after the outer layers are attached to the outer periphery of the bladder to form a ball, dimples appear on an outer periphery of the ball to allow the user to have a firm grip to the ball.
  • Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a partially exploded perspective view of the ball structure of the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the ball structure shown in FIG. 1;
  • FIG. 3 is a partially exploded perspective view of a football;
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the football shown in FIG. 3; and
  • FIG. 5 is an enlarged cross sectional view showing the structure of the outer periphery of the bladder.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference to FIG. 1, it is noted that the ball structure in accordance with the present invention includes a bladder (10) and multiple outer layers (20) securely attached to an outer periphery of the bladder (10). It is noted that the outer periphery of the bladder (10) is provided with multiple dimples (11) defined therein. Therefore, after the outer layers (20) are attached to the outer periphery of the bladder (10), second dimples (21) appear on the outer periphery of the outer layers (20) as shown in the basketball of FIG. 2.
  • With reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, a football is shown and provided with a bladder (30) and multiple outer layers (40) attached to an outer periphery of the bladder (30). Multiple dimples (31) are defined in the outer periphery of the bladder (30) such that after the outer layers (40) are attached to the outer periphery of the bladder (30), second dimples (41) appear on the outer periphery of the outer layers (40).
  • With reference to FIG. 5, it is noted that when the bladder (A) is formed, dimples (B) are defined in an outer periphery of the bladder (A). Therefore, after the outer layers are attached to the outer periphery of the bladder (A), dimples are shown on the outer periphery of the outer layers.
  • With the provision of the dimples, the user will have firm grip to the ball because the dimension of each of the dimples is much larger than a dimension of the protrusion. Furthermore, the ball of the present invention will last for a much longer time period than that of the conventional ball structure.
  • It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims (2)

1. A basketball structure comprising:
a bladder having multiple dimples defined in an outer periphery of the bladder; and
outer layers securely attached to the outer periphery of the bladder such that the dimples of the bladder appear on the outer layers.
2. A football structure comprising:
a bladder having multiple dimples defined in an outer periphery of the bladder; and
outer layers securely attached to the outer periphery of the bladder such that the dimples of the bladder appear on the outer layers.
