Abstract
The invention relates to a build-up furniture which is so constructed as to maintain the rigid assembled state in a self-standing state or the state of being unfixed to the walls or other structures and which can be conveniently assembled at homes without the need for using drills or screw drivers. According to the aspect of the invention, there is provided a build-up furniture which comprises vertical frames (10) each formed, along the length thereof, with pierced holes (11), horizontal frames (20) each formed, along the length thereof, with pierced holes (21), connection blocks (30) each provided with a vertical insertion part (32) and with horizontal insertion parts (34), the connection blocks being disposed at the intersecting positions of the vertical frames (10) with the horizontal frames (20); and clamping bolts or pins (40) provided, at one ends, with heads (41) and connected, at the other ends, to caps or nuts (45).
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a build-up furniture and more particularly to a build-up furniture with a new structure, which maintains a rigid assembled structure without being fixed to walls and which can be assembled easily without using separate tools.
- 2. Background of the Invention
- Generally, for stationary built-in receptacles or lockers or dressing rooms or the like, there are used build-up furniture in which vertical frames and horizontal frames are connected in a manner of crossing each other, wherein hanger bars or shelves are connected to those frames to receive clothes or other things. Such an assembly-type furniture is required to assemble rigidly to hold the weight of the clothes or other things.
- Conventionally, the rear parts of vertical frames, horizontal frames or shelves were fixed to walls or the like by using bolts or other appropriate clamping means in order to ensure the rigid assembly of the build-up furniture. Such an installation method through fixing the build-up furniture to walls was associated with problems in that complicated construction methods such as forming holes in walls by using drills, clamping bolts by using screw drivers or so on were necessary and further the already installed build-up furniture was difficult to move to other place or to alter in its configuration.
- On the other hand, some of the conventional build-up furniture are assembled so that the tops and bottoms of the vertical frames are borne under pressure on the ceilings and floors. However, while this kind of the methods may be adapted for bathrooms or the like to accommodate a small number of towels or light stuffs as the construction itself is hard to withstand a high load, the method may be inappropriate to apply to built-in lockers or dressing rooms for receiving a great number of clothes or the like.
- The present invention is devised to solve the above-described conventional problems and so the object of the invention is to provide a build-up furniture which is so constructed as to maintain the rigid assembled state in a self-standing state or the state of being unfixed to the walls or other structures and which can be conveniently assembled at homes without the need for using drills or screw drivers.
- According to an aspect of the invention, there is provided a build-up furniture which comprises vertical frames (10) each formed, along the length thereof, with pierced holes (11), the frames standing in the vertical direction; horizontal frames (20) each formed, along the length thereof, with pierced holes (21), the frames being disposed to intersect horizontally the vertical frames (10); connection blocks (30) each provided with a vertical insertion part (32) and with horizontal insertion parts (34), each vertical insertion part being formed with a connection hole (31) corresponding to the piercing holes (11) of the vertical frame (10), each horizontal insertion part being formed with a connection hole (33) corresponding to the piercing holes (21) of the horizontal frame (20), the connection blocks being disposed at the intersecting positions of the vertical frames (10) with the horizontal frames (20); and clamping bolts or pins (40) provided, at one ends, with heads (41) and connected, at the other ends, to caps or nuts (45), the bolts or
pins 40 passing through the connection holes (31, 33) and the piercing holes (11, 21), wherein the bolts serve for secured connection of the vertical and horizontal frames (10, 20) with the connection blocks (30). - According to another feature of the invention, the build-up furniture further includes shelf rests (60), wherein the connection blocks (30) are extended at the sides thereof by the prescribed area so that the corner edges of the shelves (50) may rest on the extended areas.
- According to still other feature of the invention, the build-up furniture is constructed in such a way that the lower ends of the vertical frames (10) are connected to bolt shafts (70) having external circumferential threads (71) and the bolt shafts (70) are enclosed by height controlling members (80) having internal circumferential threads (81), in order to control the height of the vertical frames (11) by turning the height controlling members (80).

FIG. 4 is the cross section of the height controlling member ofFIG. 1 . - A preferred embodiment of the invention is now described in detail below by referring to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 that a build-up furniture according to an embodiment of the invention is principally constructed by connecting pluralvertical frames 10 andhorizontal frames 20 to intersect each other through connectingblocks 30. The connectingblock 30 is formed with thevertical insertion part 32 to receive thevertical frame 10 and thehorizontal insertion parts 34 to receivehorizontal frames 20 so that the vertical andhorizontal insertion parts vertical insertion part 32 is formed with a vertical through-opening to receive the vertical frame and thehorizontal insertion parts 34, which are formed with horizontal through-openings to receive the horizontal frames, are branched off horizontally at the middle position of theconnection block 30, in the number depending on thehorizontal frames 20. Thevertical frames 10 and thehorizontal frames 20 are respectively formed with a number of pierced holes or through-holes horizontal frames 20 may be formed with pierced holes or through-holes 21 only at the opposite ends of the frame as shown inFIG. 2 . The vertical andhorizontal insertion parts connection block 30 are respectively formed withconnection holes holes connection holes holes clamping bolts 40 to ensure strong clamping of the vertical andhorizontal frames connection block 30. Theclamping bolts 40 are formed withheads 41 at one ends of the bolts and are to be engaged withcaps 45 at the other ends of the bolts after insertion. The other ends of thebolts 40 are formed with engaging projections or engagingrecesses 42, while thecap nuts 45, which are preferably made of a soft synthetic resin to render elasticity, are correspondingly formed, on the inner circumferential surfaces of the nuts, with the engaging recesses orengaging projections 46. Thus, thenuts 45 can be prevented from falling off theclamping bolts 40, unless thenuts 45 are stripped off compulsorily. -
FIG. 3 is the perspective view in which ashelf 50 is rested on the shelf rests 60 provided onconnection blocks 30. Referring to this figure, thehorizontal insertion parts 34 of theconnection blocks 30 are horizontally and inwardly extended on the sides thereof to form theshelf rests 60 having a predetermined area to support the corner edges of theshelf 60. Preferably, theshelf rest 60 is formed in the form of a sector between twohorizontal insertion parts 34. As shown inFIG. 3 , the four corners of a shelf can be seated on theshelf rests 60 provided on theconnection blocks 30 without a need for assembling tools, wherein the position of theshelf 50 is fixed by the weight of the articles put on theshelf 50. -
FIG. 4 shows the cross section illustrating the state in which theheight controlling member 80 is provided on the lower end of avertical frame 10. By referring to the figure, the lower end of thevertical frame 10 is provided with abolt shaft 70, on the outer circumference of which theheight controlling member 80 is connected. The lower outer circumference of thebolt shaft 70 is formed with athread 71, whereas the inner circumference of theheight controlling member 80 is formed with athread 81 to engage with thecounterpart thread 71. Accordingly, the rotation of theheight controlling member 80 relative to thebolt shaft 70 causes thevertical frame 10 to move up or down. Thisheight controlling member 80 is used either to control the installation height of the inventive build-up furniture or to adjust the levelling of the furniture. - The build-up furniture according to the invention, as described above, can be installed by simple processes including the steps of inserting the vertical and
horizontal frames connection blocks 30, passing theclamping bolts 40 through theconnection holes connection blocks 30 as well as the through-holes frames nuts 45 of elastic material to the other ends of theclamping bolts 40. Subsequently, a simple work of resting theshelves 50 on the shelf rests 60 provided on theconnection blocks 30 is conducted to complete the installation of the inventive build-up furniture. - Accordingly, the installation of the build-up furniture is possible through a simple assembling hand-work without using particular tools and without fixing a part of components of the furniture to walls or other building structure to thereby result in the overall strong assembled state.
- As described in the above, the present invention is not simply restricted to the illustrated embodiments and accompanying drawings and thus it is to be understood by the men with ordinary skill in the art that various replacements, modifications and alterations within the scope which would not depart from the technical idea of the invention are possible.
- Therefore, the advantages of the invention may be briefed as follows. According to the present invention, the present furniture can be assembled by simple work of inserting the vertical and horizontal frames in the connection
- blocks, and then firmly securing the vertical and horizontal frames to the connection blocks by using clamping bolts and nuts without using special tools. The rigid assembled state can result without fixing a part of components of the furniture to walls or other building structure. The installation is completed by simply putting the shelves on the shelf rests provided with the connection blocks.
Claims (4)
1. A build-up furniture which comprises vertical frames (10) each formed, along the length thereof, with pierced holes (11), the frames standing in the vertical direction; horizontal frames (20) each formed, along the length thereof, with pierced holes (21), the frames being disposed to intersect horizontally the vertical frames (10); connection blocks (30) each provided with a vertical insertion part (32) and with horizontal insertion parts (34), each vertical insertion part being formed with a connection hole (31) corresponding to the piercing holes (11) of the vertical frame (10), each horizontal insertion part being formed with a connection hole (33) corresponding to the piercing holes (21) of the horizontal frame (20), the connection blocks being disposed at the intersecting positions of the vertical frames (10) with the horizontal frames (20); and clamping bolts or pins (40) provided, at one ends, with heads (41) and connected, at the other ends, to caps or nuts (45), the bolts or pins 40 passing through the connection holes (31, 33) and the piercing holes (11, 21), wherein the bolts serve for secured connection of the vertical and horizontal frames (10, 20) with the connection blocks (30).
2. The build-up furniture of claim 1 , further comprising:
shelf rests (60), wherein the connection blocks (30) are extended at the sides thereof by the prescribed area so that the corner edges of the shelves (50) may rest on the extended areas.
3. The build-up furniture of claim 1 which is constructed in such a way that the lower ends of the vertical frames (10) are connected to bolt shafts (70) having external circumferential threads (71) and the bolt shafts (70) are enclosed by height controlling members (80) having internal circumferential threads (81), in order to control the height of the vertical frames (10) by turning the height controlling members (80).
4. The build-up furniture of claim 2 which is constructed in such a way that the lower ends of the vertical frames (10) are connected to bolt shafts (70) having external circumferential threads (71) and the bolt shafts (70) are enclosed by height controlling members (80) having internal circumferential threads (81), in order to control the height of the vertical frames (10) by turning the height controlling members (80).
