Abstract
A drink cup holder mount includes a drink cup holder unit having a fixing rod sideward extended from a peripheral wall thereof; a mounting unit having two through holes correspondingly formed thereon; a fastening element; and at least one packing pad for inserting in the mounting unit. The fixing rod may be extended through the two through holes on the mounting unit to engage with the fastening element, so that the mounting unit is held to the fixing rod between the drink cup holder unit and the fastening element and could be pivotally turned about the fixing rod to any desired direction. Therefore, the drink cup holder mount could be connected to a bar-shaped member extended in any direction and provides more flexibility in use.
Description
- The present invention relates to a drink cup holder mount, and more particularly to a drink cup holder mount that could be connected to a bar as necessary without being limited by an extension direction of the bar.
- Conventional drink cup holder mounts are so designed that they could be extended in only one fixed direction relative to a place on which the drink cup holder mount is to be mounted. In the event a user is in an environment without a suitable position for mounting and allowing the drink cup holder mount to extend in a desired direction for use, there is just no way to use the drink cup holder mount. For example, the conventional drink cup holder mount with a fixed mounting direction could be connected to a wheelchair only at some positions which are not necessarily conveniently accessible for a patient sitting on the wheelchair.
- It is therefore tried by the inventor to develop a drink cup holder mount that could be connected to a bar according to actual need without being limited by an extension direction of the bar and is therefore more flexible for use.
- A primary object of the present invention is to provide a drink cup holder mount that could be connected to a bar without being limited by an extension direction of the bar, and therefore provides more flexibility in use thereof.
- To achieve the above( and other objects, the drink cup holder mount according to the present invention includes a drink cup holder unit having a fixing rod outward extended from a peripheral wall thereof; a mounting unit having two through holes correspondingly formed thereon; a fastening element; and at least one packing pad for inserting in the mounting unit. The fixing rod may be extended through the two through holes on the mounting unit to engage with the fastening element, so that the mounting unit is held to the fixing rod between the drink cup holder unit and the fastening element and could be pivotally turned about the fixing rod to any desired direction.
- Therefore, the drink cup holder mount could be connected to a bar-shaped member extended in any direction to provide more flexibility in use.
- The structure and the technical means adopted by the present invention to achieve the above and other objects can be best understood by referring to the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments and the accompanying drawings, wherein
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a drink cup holder mount according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is an assembled view ofFIG. 1 ; -
FIG. 3 shows a first example of application of the drink cup holder mount of the present invention; and -
FIG. 4 shows a second example of application of the drink cup holder mount of the present invention. - Please refer to
FIGS. 1 and 2 that are exploded and assembled perspective views, respectively, of a drinkcup holder mount 1 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. As shown, the drinkcup holder mount 1 includes a drinkcup holder unit 2, which may include, but not limited to a round cup holder; an externally threadedfixing rod 3 sideward extended from a peripheral wall of the drinkcup holder unit 2; amountingunit 4, such as a U-shaped mounting bracket, having two throughholes 5 correspondingly formed thereon; afastening element 6, including but not limited to a nut; and at least one packing pad 7 for attaching to an inner surface of themounting unit 4 depending on actual need. - To connect the drink up
holder mount 1 to a desired bar-shaped member, first attach theU-shaped mounting unit 4 to the bar-shaped member at a desired position, and extend thefixing rod 3 through the two throughholes 5 on themounting unit 4. Then, screw thefastening element 6 to a free end of the externally threadedfixing rod 3, so that themounting unit 4 is held to thefixing rod 3 between thefastening element 6 and the drinkcup holder unit 2. It is noted themounting unit 4 may be pivotally turned about thesefixing rod 3 to orient to different directions. -
FIG. 3 shows a first example of application of the drink cup holder mount. 1. As shown, the drinkcup holder mount 1 is mounted on awheelchair 8 by tightening themounting unit 4 to a vertical bar on thewheelchair 8. One or more packing pads 7 may be inserted between themounting unit 4 and the vertical bar, depending on a thickness of the vertical bar. -
FIG. 4 shows a second example of application of the drinkcup holder mount 1. As shown, the drinkcup holder mount 1 is mounted on awheelchair 8 by tightening themounting unit 4 to a horizontal bar on thewheelchair 8. One or more packing pads 7 may be inserted between themounting unit 4 and the horizontal bar, depending on a thickness of the horizontal bar. - With the above arrangements, the drink
cup holder mount 1 of the present invent-ion may be connected to either a horizontal or a vertical bar-shaped member according to actual need, and is therefore more flexible and practical for use to meet market demands.
