Abstract
A vehicle barrier that has a three-dimensional shape of a product for advertising.
Description
- The present invention relates generally to vehicle barriers, and particularly to a vehicle barrier for use in advertising on sidewalks and the like, that has a characteristic shape of a brand name or trademark of a product for advertising.
- Vehicle barriers are well known that may be placed along sidewalks and the like, which prevent drivers from parking their vehicles along places intended for pedestrians and parks and the like. Such vehicle barriers are typically fashioned from metal posts and bars and the like.
- U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,481,921 and 6,692,182 to Fenimore et al. describe a vehicle barrier/advertisement system comprising a vehicle parking barrier has a front face and a rear face and an upper surface there between and a pair of end surfaces. The barrier has a generally horizontal lower surface positionable on a parking surface. A coupling means is to secure the parking barrier to the parking surface. A thin barrier cover has a front face and a rear face and an upper surface there between. The cover has a generally horizontal lower opening with lower edges positionable adjacent to the parking surface, the cover being sized and shaped to be securely positioned over the vehicle parking barrier. An advertisement sheet has an interior surface positioned with respect to one face of the cover, the sheet also having an exterior surface with advertising indicia thereon. An additional coupling means secures the cover to the barrier.
- U.S. Design Pat. No. 351,422 to Morris describes a combined parking lot barrier and cover for advertising displays.
- The present invention seeks to provide a vehicle barrier for use in advertising on sidewalks and the like, that has a characteristic shape of a product for advertising, as is described in detail further hereinbelow.
- There is provided in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention a vehicle barrier that has a three-dimensional shape of a product for advertising.
- There is also provided in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention a method for advertising including providing a vehicle barrier that has a three-dimensional shape of a product for advertising.
- The present invention will be understood and appreciated more fully from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the drawings in which:
-
FIG. 1 is a simplified illustration of a vehicle barrier, constructed and operative in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIGS. 2-4 are simplified illustrations of vehicle barriers, constructed and operative in accordance with other embodiments of the present invention. - Reference is now made to
FIG. 1 , which illustrates avehicle barrier 10, constructed and operative in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. - The
vehicle barrier 10 may have a three-dimensional shape of aproduct 12 for advertising. The shape of the product 12 (and/or the product itself) may have a trademark application filed therefore (in which case the shape and/or product may be designated by the superscript “TM”). Alternatively or additionally, the shape of the product 12 (and/or the product itself) may have been registered as a trademark (in which case the shape and/or product may be designated by the superscript “R” in a circle). - For example, as seen in
FIG. 1 , thevehicle barrier 10 may have the characteristic and very familiar shape of a COCACOLA bottle 14, or any other foodstuff, such as but not limited to, a beverage, snack food, canned vegetables, crackers, breakfast cereals, etc. - The
vehicle barrier 10 may be constructed of any suitable material, such as but not limited to, metal, plastic or elastomer (e.g., natural or synthetic rubber). - Reference is now made to
FIGS. 2 , 3 and 4, which illustrate other vehicle barriers, constructed and operative in accordance with other embodiments of the present invention. - In
FIG. 2 , avehicle barrier 20 may have the characteristic shape of acleaning product 22, such as but not limited to, SCOTCH-BRITE cleansing or scouring pads. - In
FIG. 3 , avehicle barrier 30 may have the characteristic shape of a personalhygienic product 32, such as but not limited to, a MENNEN stick deodorant. - In
FIG. 4 , avehicle barrier 40 may have the characteristic shape of ahome appliance 42, such as but not limited to, a PHILIPS shaver. - It is appreciated that the above are merely some of limitless examples of products which may be advertised in accordance with the present invention.
- The vehicle barrier of the present invention may be constructed of any material, such as but not limited to, metal, plastic, elastomer (e.g., natural or synthetic rubber), wood, etc.
- It is also appreciated that various features of the invention which are, for clarity, described in the contexts of separate embodiments, may also be provided in combination in a single embodiment. Conversely, various features of the invention which are, for brevity, described in the context of a single embodiment, may also be provided separately or in any suitable subcombination.
