- the cover ( 42 ) when a user pushes the cover ( 42 ), the cover ( 42 ) will follow and move along the slide slot ( 13 ) on the rail and the oblique segment ( 11 , 12 ) of the stationary leaf ( 10 ). Accordingly, the cover ( 42 ) moves parallelly and obliquely relative to the base ( 41 ). Therefore, the electronic device may be conveniently used as a hand-held game console or a handheld computer when the cover ( 42 ) is inclined relative to the base ( 41 ) with an inclined angle.
Abstract
A sliding bracket has a stationary leaf, a moving leaf and multiple connecting assemblies. The stationary leaf has a rail and a slide slot. The rail further has an oblique segment. The slide slot is formed in the rail and the oblique segment. The moving leaf is mounted adjacent to the stationary leaf. The connecting assemblies are mounted through the stationary leaf, through the slide slot and are fastened in the moving leaf so the moving leaf moves parallelly and obliquely along the slide slot. When the stationary leaf and the moving leaf are connected respectively to a base and a cover of an electronic device, the electronic device is conveniently used as a hand-held game console or a handheld computer because the cover can be inclined relative to the base.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a sliding bracket, and more particularly to a sliding bracket that allows a moving leaf to slide parallelly and obliquely relative to a stationary leaf.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Advancement of science and technology has resulted in electronic devices such as cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and the like becoming commonly used and highly portable, so carried continuously with users. Most electronic devices comprise a base, a keyboard, a cover, a screen and a conventional parallelly sliding bracket. The keyboard is mounted on the base. The cover is mounted above the base to reduce a footprint of the electronic device. The screen is mounted on the cover. The conventional parallelly sliding bracket connects the cover to the base and allows the cover to slide parallelly relative to the base so the cover and the base are parallel.
- Furthermore, new electronic devices provide additional applications, such as cellular phones being applied as hand-held game consoles and PDAs being applied as handheld computers. However, for many applications, disposing the keyboard parallel to the base and screen is inconvenient, unnatural and awkward.
- To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a sliding bracket that allows a moving leaf to slide parallelly and obliquely relative to a stationary leaf to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
- The main objective of the invention is to provide a sliding bracket that allows a moving leaf to slide parallelly and obliquely relative to a stationary leaf
- The sliding bracket in accordance with the present invention comprises a stationary leaf, a moving leaf and multiple connecting assemblies. The stationary leaf has a rail and a slide slot. The rail further has an oblique segment. The slide slot is formed through the rail and the oblique segment. The moving leaf is mounted adjacent to the stationary leaf. The connecting assemblies are mounted through the stationary leaf, through the slide slot and are fastened in the moving leaf so the moving leaf moves parallelly and obliquely along the slide slot. When the stationary leaf and the moving leaf are connected respectively to a base and a cover of an electronic device, the electronic device is conveniently used as a hand-held game console or a handheld computer because the cover can be inclined relative to the base.
- Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1-3 , a sliding bracket in accordance with the present invention comprises a stationary leaf (10), a moving leaf (20) and multiple connecting assemblies (30) and may be mounted on an electronic device, including but not limited to cellular phones, personal digital assistants and the like and comprising a base (41) and a cover (42). The stationary leaf (10) is mounted on the base (41) and has a rail (11), a slide slot (13), three optional mounting protrusions (141, 142, 143) and an optional stop (15). The rail (11) has a first end, a second end and an oblique segment (12). The oblique segment (12) is formed on and protrudes from the second end of the rail (11). The slide slot (13) is formed longitudinally in the stationary leaf (10) and has a width. The three mounting protrusions (141, 142, 143) are formed substantially perpendicularly on and protrude from the stationary leaf (10) and are connected to the base (41) of the electronic device. A first mounting protrusion (141) is disposed at the first end of the rail (11). A second mounting protrusion (142) is disposed at the second end of the rail (11). The third mounting protrusion (143) is disposed at the oblique segment (12). The stop (15) may be a bend in the stationary leaf (10), is formed on the first end of the rail (11) and has an indent (151). The indent (151) is wider than and communicates with the slide slot (13) - The moving leaf (20) is mounted on the cover (41), is mounted slidably on the stationary leaf (10), has a mounting edge and may further have multiple through holes (21), a platform (22) and multiple fasteners (23). The through holes (21) are formed through the moving leaf (20). The platform (22) is mounted securely on the cover (41), is formed on and protrudes perpendicularly from the mounting edge of the moving leaf (20). The fasteners (23) are mounted respectively through the platform (22) and in the cover (41), and each fastener (23) may be a hollow head fastener (23).
- The connecting assemblies (30) are mounted through the slide slot (13) and are mounted, may be mounted rotatably, on the moving leaf (20), may correspond respectively to and be mounted through the through holes (21) in the moving leaf (20) so the moving leaf (20) can move slidably along the slide slot (13). Each connecting assembly (30) may comprise a roller (31) and a fastening rivet (32). The roller (31) is mounted on the rail (11), adjacent to the moving leaf (20), corresponds to and is mounted in the slide slot (13) and has at least one annular shoulder (311). The annular shoulder (311) is wider than the width of the slide slot (13) so the roller (31) is held in and moves smoothly in the slide slot (13). The fastening rivet (32) is mounted through the roller (31) and the corresponding through hole (21) on the moving leaf (20) and may have a head (321) and a shaft (322). The head (321) has an outer diameter. The outer diameter of the head (321) of the fastening rivet (32) is narrower than the indent (151) on the stationary leaf (10) and is wider than the width of the slide slot (13). The shaft (322) of the fastening rivet (32) is mounted through the roller (31) and is fastened in the corresponding through hole (21). Therefore, the connecting assemblies (30) can move easily out of the slide slot (13) from the indent (151) on the stationary leaf (10) to allow conveniently separating the stationary leaf (10) and the moving leaf (20). Consequently, combining the stationary leaf (10) and the moving leaf (20) is also convenient.
- With further reference to
FIGS. 4Ato 5B , when a user pushes the cover (42), the cover (42) will follow and move along the slide slot (13) on the rail and the oblique segment (11, 12) of the stationary leaf (10). Accordingly, the cover (42) moves parallelly and obliquely relative to the base (41). Therefore, the electronic device may be conveniently used as a hand-held game console or a handheld computer when the cover (42) is inclined relative to the base (41) with an inclined angle. - Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
Claims (8)
1. A sliding bracket comprising:
a stationary leaf having
a rail having
a first end;
a second end; and
an oblique segment being formed on and protruding from the second end of the rail;
a slide slot being formed longitudinally in the stationary leaf and having a width;
a moving leaf being mounted slidably on the stationary leaf and having a mounting edge; and
multiple connecting assemblies mounted through the slide slot and being mounted on the moving leaf so the moving leaf slides parallelly and obliquely along the slide slot of the stationary leaf.
2. The sliding bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the stationary leaf further has multiple mounting protrusions being formed substantially perpendicularly on and protruding from the stationary leaf.
3. The sliding bracket as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the multiple mounting protrusions comprise:
a first mounting protrusion being disposed at the first end of the rail;
a second mounting protrusion being disposed at the second end of the rail; and
a third mounting protrusion being disposed at the oblique segment.
4. The sliding bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the moving leaf further has a platform being formed on and protruding perpendicularly from the mounting edge of the moving leaf.
5. The sliding bracket as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the moving leaf further has multiple hollow head fasteners being mounted respectively through the platform.
6. The sliding bracket as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each connecting assembly further comprises:
a roller being mounted on the rail, adjacent to the moving leaf, corresponding to and being mounted in the slide slot and having
at least one annular shoulder being wider than the width of the slide slot; and
a fastening rivet mounted through the roller and on the moving leaf.
7. The sliding bracket as claimed in claim 6 , wherein
the moving leaf further has multiple through holes being formed through the moving leaf; and
each fastening rivet is mounted respectively in one through hole and further has
a head having an outer diameter being wider than the slide slot; and
a shaft being mounted through the roller and fastened in the through hole.
8. The sliding bracket as claimed in claim 7 , wherein
the stationary leaf further has a stop being formed on the first end of the rail and having
an indent being wider than and communicating with the slide slot; and
the outer diameter of the head of the fastening rivet is narrower than the indent on the stationary leaf.
