Abstract

Disclosed is a chart containing a strategy to play the game of blackjack cards where the chart can clip to your shirt sleeve or watch band or can be worn like a wristband for easy viewing of the card player.

Description

  • This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application 61/032,974 filed Mar. 2, 2008, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated by reference.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD AND BACKGROUND
  • The present invention relates to a strategy for playing the card game of blackjack. More specifically, the present invention is a chart containing a strategy to play the game of blackjack cards where the chart can clip to your shirt sleeve or watch band or can be worn like a wristband for easy viewing of the card player.
  • One embodiment of the present invention is a blackjack strategy clip which may clip to a player's watch band or clip to the player's shirt sleeve. A casino blackjack table is attached to the clip and is positioned for easy reading by the blackjack player. The table or chart will tell the player the optimal strategies for hitting, doubling down and splitting based on mathematic probability. One embodiment of the present invention is a blackjack strategy wristband that would wrap around the player's wrist and contain a casino blackjack table. The wristband may have are closeable clip button.
  • Currently, consumers can purchase a blackjack basic strategy chart card in a casino gift shop or off the internet. However, players must hold the card in their hand while playing because players are not allowed to lay the card on the blackjack table due to casino rules prohibiting this. Players need to have their hands free for activities such as betting, collecting chips, enjoying beverages or smoking. During single deck or two deck blackjack games where the player is required to pick up the two cards dealt face down to the player, it is even more difficult to try to hold a blackjack strategy card while picking up the dealt cards.
  • Blackjack players may not have a free hand to be holding a basic strategy card. Often players who utilize current basic strategy card put down their beverage or cigarette and pull out the strategy card from their pocket to look up the recommended action. This slows down the play at the blackjack table and can be annoying to other players. As a result many players do not use the current blackjack strategy charts.
  • When playing blackjack with other players, the decisions need to be made quickly so that you don't slow down the game for the other players. The current blackjack basic strategy cards are hard to read and take significant time to look up the correct action. As a result most players do not use the strategy card at the casino and try to use memory to perform the optimal action. Often the consumer plays the action that is not the highest probability and thus reduces the player's chance of winning.
  • Blackjack is a social game with other players at the table. Some players don't want to look like a beginner player by holding out a basic strategy card in their hand and trying to bet chips at the same time. The present invention blackjack strategy clip has an easy to read basic strategy table that clips to the players watch, or sleeve of shirt, blouse, jacket, or sweater. This accomplishes several things: It frees up a hand for the player to use for picking up dealt cards (in single or two deck blackjack games), betting chips, enjoying beverages, or smoking. The strategy clip is not easily visible to others at the table, and the player can simply look down at his watch for the correct basic strategy instead of holding up a hard to read strategy card and looking like a beginner. The basic strategy chart used for the clip is much easier to use than the standard blackjack basic strategy charts sold in stores.
