Definitions

  • FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a balloon tying tool
  • FIG. 2 is a bottom perspective view thereof.
  • FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 are perspective views of one embodiment of balloon tying tool. As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 , the balloon tying tool includes several parts.
  • Each end of the invented balloon tying tool contains an “L” or “J” shaped feature 3 .
  • This feature holds the nipple or lip of the balloon (the end used to fill the balloon with air, helium or water).
  • the nipple or lip is hooked in the “L” or “J” shaped feature 3 while the neck of the balloon (that has been wrapped around the tying surface 4 of the invented balloon tying device) is pulled over either tip 5 of the invented balloon tying device, achieving the tie.
  • each end of the invented balloon tying device on the opposite side of the “L” or “J” shaped features, are open cavity features 6 that the nipple or lip of the balloon sits inside of while the neck of the balloon is pulled over either tip 5 of the invented balloon tying tool.

Abstract

A balloon tying tool has a method for tying a balloon, the method comprising the steps of: After the balloon is inflated with either air, helium or water;
The neck of the balloon is wrapped over the top of the cylindrical body of either the large or small end of the invented balloon tying tool.
The neck of the balloon is then wrapped over (away from the operator) toward the underside of the invented balloon tying tool.
The neck of the balloon continues to be wrapped around the underside of the invented balloon tying tool and back up toward the operator and is stretched up next to the balloon neck portion that was initially stretched over the top.
The balloon neck is then stretched toward the tip of the invented balloon tying tool and the balloons outstretched neck is placed into the J hook slot in the invented balloon tying tools tip, capturing the balloons nipple on the underside of the invented balloon tying tool.
The neck of the balloon that is now wrapped around the circumference of the invented balloon tying tools body, it is then rolled or pushed over the invented balloon tying tools tip, tying the balloon as it leaves the body of the invented balloon tying tool.

Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application for a utility patent claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 61/192,092 , filed Sep. 12, 2008.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The accompanying drawings illustrate the present invention. In such drawings:
  • FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a balloon tying tool; and
  • FIG. 2 is a bottom perspective view thereof.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The above-described drawing figures illustrate the invention, a balloon tying tool.
  • FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 are perspective views of one embodiment of balloon tying tool. As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the balloon tying tool includes several parts.
  • The embodiment of the invented balloon tying tool as shown in the illustrations of FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 each display a large side 1 and a small side 2. Respectively, each side is intended for the tying of larger and smaller balloons.
  • Each end of the invented balloon tying tool contains an “L” or “J” shaped feature 3. This feature holds the nipple or lip of the balloon (the end used to fill the balloon with air, helium or water). The nipple or lip is hooked in the “L” or “J” shaped feature 3 while the neck of the balloon (that has been wrapped around the tying surface 4 of the invented balloon tying device) is pulled over either tip 5 of the invented balloon tying device, achieving the tie.
  • Additionally, at each end of the invented balloon tying device, on the opposite side of the “L” or “J” shaped features, are open cavity features 6 that the nipple or lip of the balloon sits inside of while the neck of the balloon is pulled over either tip 5 of the invented balloon tying tool.

Claims (2)

1. A balloon tying tool comprising:
The invented balloon tying tool is designed to tie various sizes of balloons from small balloons, like those used to make water balloons, to larger 12 to 16 inch balloons, like those used for general air inflation at parties or those used to make helium filled balloon bouquets. All of these balloons are made of latex and generally require tying, where the Mylar balloon type generally are not tied, but are adhesive sealed.
It should be additionally stated that while the invented balloon tying tool shown covers the tying of average balloon sizes available in the marketplace, larger versions of the invented balloon tying tool can be produced to tie larger balloons that are also available in the marketplace.
Furthermore, while the enclosed illustrations depict the invented balloon tying tool as a hand held creation that achieves the enclosed claims, a mechanical version (not shown) using the same technique as the hand held version of the invented balloon tying tool can also be held to the enclosed claims.
2. A method for tying a balloon, the method comprising the steps of:
After the balloon is inflated with either air, helium or water;
