Abstract
A rack frame includes a support pole, and an auxiliary apparatus. The first support pole includes a first sidewall and a perpendicular second sidewall. The first sidewall defines a first engaging slot including a first insert slot and a first recess slot. The second sidewall includes a second engaging slot. The auxiliary apparatus includes a first side piece, including a first clasp, and a second side piece, including a second clasp. The auxiliary apparatus moves on the support pole, a first position, a second position, and a third position. In the first position, the first clasp is located in the first insert slot. In the second position, the first clasp is located in the first recess slot aligning the second clasp with the second engaging slot. In the third position, the first clasp is located the first insert slot having the second clasp inserted in the second engaging slot.
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to rack frames, and more particularly to a rack frame having an auxiliary apparatus attached thereon.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- A typical rack frame for supporting servers usually includes two rectangular frames and four support poles connected between the two rectangular frames. Each of the support poles includes a bay for receiving an auxiliary apparatus attached thereon. Conventionally, the auxiliary apparatus is welded on the support pole to be mounted in the bay. However, the auxiliary apparatus is easily broken off from the support pole when the weld is weak.
- Therefore, there is room for improvement within the art.
- Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with references to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 4 is an assembly view of the rack frame ofFIG. 1 . - The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , a rack frame in accordance with an embodiment includes alower frame 30, an upper frame 20 (seeFIG. 4 ), and foursupport poles 10 connected between thelower frame 30 and anupper frame 20. Anauxiliary apparatus 60 is configured to be attached on one of the foursupport poles 10. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , theauxiliary apparatus 60 includes amounting member 601. Themounting member 601 includes afirst side piece 61 and asecond side piece 62 connected to thefirst side piece 61. Thefirst side piece 61 is perpendicular to thesecond side piece 62. A plurality ofsockets 40 is mounted on mountingmember 601. Acable 41 is connected to thesockets 40 for supplying electrical energy to thesockets 40. Astrap 50 binds thecable 41. A plurality ofplugs 90 is connected to thesockets 40. - A plurality of
first clasps 613 is formed on thefirst side piece 61. Each of thefirst clasps 613 includes afirst connection portion 614, connected to thefirst side piece 61, and afirst lock portion 615, connected to thefirst connection portion 614. Afirst gap 616 is defined between thefirst lock portion 615 and thefirst side piece 61. A plurality ofsecond clasps 623 are located on thesecond side piece 62. Each of thesecond clasps 623 includes asecond connection portion 624, connected to thesecond side piece 62, and asecond lock portion 625, connected to thesecond connection portion 624. Asecond gap 626 is defined between thesecond lock portion 625 and thesecond side piece 62. A top portion of thesecond side piece 62 defines afirst securing hole 621 therein. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 3 , thesupport pole 10 includes afirst portion 101 and asecond portion 102. Thefirst portion 101 includes afirst sidewall 103. Thesecond portion 102 includes asecond sidewall 104. Thefirst sidewall 103 and thesecond sidewall 104 surround areceiving space 108 therebetween. Thesecond sidewall 104 defines asecond securing hole 109 corresponding to thefirst securing hole 621. Thesecond sidewall 104 is perpendicular and connected to thefirst sidewall 103 at a corner. Thefirst sidewall 103 defines a plurality of firstengaging slots 11 corresponding to thefirst clasps 613 of theauxiliary apparatus 60. Thesecond sidewall 104 defines a plurality of secondengaging slots 13, corresponding to thesecond clasps 623 of theauxiliary apparatus 60. The firstengaging slot 11 includes afirst insert slot 111, adjacent to the corner, and afirst recess slot 112 communicating with thefirst insert slot 111. The length of thefirst insert slot 111, in a direction along thesupport pole 10, is larger than that of thefirst recess slot 112. In one embodiment, thefirst recess slot 112 is trapezium shaped. The secondengaging slot 13 includes asecond insert slot 131, adjacent to the corner, and asecond recess slot 132 communicating with thesecond insert slot 131. The length of thesecond insert slot 131 in a direction along thesupport pole 10 is larger than that of thesecond recess slot 132. In one embodiment, thesecond recess slot 132 is trapezium shaped. - In assembly, first, the
auxiliary apparatus 60 is placed in thereceiving space 108 of thesupport pole 10. Thefirst clasp 613 of theauxiliary apparatus 60 is inserted in thefirst insert slot 111 until thefirst connection portion 614 is located in thefirst insert slot 111. Thefirst connection portion 614 moves slightly into thefirst recess slot 112. At this position, thesecond clasp 623 on thesecond side piece 62 is aligned with thesecond insert slot 131. Thesecond clasp 623 is then inserted in thesecond insert slot 131 and thefirst clasp 613 simultaneously moves back to thefirst insert slot 111. At this position, thefirst sidewall 103 contacts to thefirst side piece 61 and thesecond sidewall 104 contacts to thesecond side piece 62. Theauxiliary apparatus 60 then slides down on thesupport pole 10 until thefirst lock portion 615 of thefirst clasp 613 engages an edge of thefirst insert slot 111 and asecond lock portion 625 of thesecond clasp 623 engages an edge of thesecond insert slot 131. The edge of thefirst insert slot 111 is received in thefirst gap 616. The edge of thesecond insert slot 131 is received in thesecond gap 626. At this position, the first securinghole 621 of theauxiliary apparatus 60 is aligned with thesecond securing hole 109 of thesupport pole 10. Afastener 91 is secured in thefirst securing hole 621 and second securinghole 109. Therefore, theauxiliary apparatus 60 is mounted on thesupport pole 10 of the rack frame. - It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the embodiments have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the present disclosure to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
Claims (18)
1. A rack frame, comprising:
a support pole comprising a first portion and a second portion, the first portion comprising a first side wall, the second portion comprising a second side wall perpendicular to the first side wall; and the first side wall comprising a first engaging slot, the first engaging slot comprising a first insert slot and a first recess slot, and the second side wall comprising a second engaging slot; and
an auxiliary apparatus comprising a first side piece and a second side piece perpendicularly connected to the first side piece, the first side piece comprising a first clasp, the second side piece comprising a second clasp; wherein the auxiliary apparatus is configured to move on the support pole among a first position, a second position, and a third position; in the first position, the first clasp is located in the first insert slot; in the second position, the first clasp is located in the first recess slot to align the second clasp with the second engaging slot; in the third position, the first clasp is located in the first insert slot to have the second clasp inserted in the second engaging slot.
2. The rack frame of claim 1 , wherein the length of the first insert slot, in a direction along the support pole, is larger than that of the first recess slot.
3. The rack frame of claim 2 , wherein the first recess slot is trapezium shaped.
4. The rack frame of claim 1 , wherein the first clasp comprises a first connection portion, that is connected to the first side piece, and a first lock portion, that is connected to the first connection portion; and the first connection portion is configured to be located in the first insert slot in the first position.
5. The rack frame of claim 4 , wherein the first side piece abuts against the first side wall in the first position.
6. The rack frame of claim 4 , wherein a first gap is defined between the first lock portion and the first side piece.
7. The rack frame of claim 6 , wherein in the third position, the first lock portion of the first clasp engages an edge of the first insert slot and the edge of the first insert slot is received in the first gap.
8. The rack frame of claim 1 , wherein the second side piece defines a first securing hole, the second side wall defines a second securing hole; in the third position, the first securing hole is aligned with the second securing hole, and a fastener is secured in the first securing hole and the second securing hole.
9. The rack frame of claim 1 , wherein a plurality of sockets is mounted on the auxiliary apparatus.
10. A rack frame, comprising:
an auxiliary apparatus comprising a mounting member and a plurality of sockets mounted on the mounting member, the mounting member comprising a first side piece and a second side piece connecting to the first side piece at a corner; the first side piece comprising a first clasp; and
a support pole comprising a first side wall and a second side wall, a receiving space surrounded by the first side wall and the second side wall; the first side wall comprising a first engaging slot; wherein the auxiliary apparatus is configured to be placed in the receiving space, and the first clasp is configured to engage in the first engaging slot.
11. The rack frame of claim 10 , wherein the second side wall is perpendicular to the first side wall, the second side wall comprises a second engaging slot; the first engaging slot comprises a first insert slot and a first recess slot, the second side piece comprises a second clasp, the auxiliary apparatus is configured to move in the receiving space among a first position, a second position, and a third position; in the first position, the first clasp is located in the first insert slot; in the second position, the first clasp is located the first recess slot to align the second clasp with the second engaging slot; in the third position, the first clasp is located in the first insert slot to have the second clasp inserted in the second engaging slot.
12. The rack frame of claim 11 , wherein the length of the first insert slot, in a direction along the support pole, is larger than that of the first recess slot.
13. The rack frame of claim 12 , wherein the first recess slot is trapezium shaped.
14. The rack frame of claim 11 , wherein the first clasp comprises a first connection portion, that is connected to the first side piece, and a first lock portion, that is connected to the first connection portion; and the first connection portion is configured to be located in the first insert slot in the first position.
15. The rack frame of claim 14 , wherein the first side piece abuts against the first side wall at the first position.
16. The rack frame of claim 14 , wherein a first gap is defined between the first lock portion and the first side piece.
17. The rack frame of claim 16 , wherein in the third position, the first lock portion of the first clasp engages an edge of the first insert slot and the edge of the first insert slot is received in the first gap.
18. The rack frame of claim 11 , wherein the second side piece defines a first securing hole, the second side wall defines a second securing hole; in the third position, the first securing hole is aligned with the second securing hole, and a fastener is secured in the first securing hole and the second securing hole.
