Abstract
A powder container includes a container body, a fixed disk mounted on the container body, an adjusting disk rotatably mounted on the fixed disk, and a cover mounted on the container body to cover the adjusting disk and the fixed disk. The container body has an inner portion provided with a receiving chamber. The fixed disk has a bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting holes each connected to the receiving chamber. The adjusting disk has a bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting apertures that are movable to align with the connecting holes of the fixed disk. Thus, the powder in the container body is allowed to pour outward from the adjusting disk by rotation of the adjusting disk relative to the fixed disk so that the user's hand will not touch the powder directly.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a container and, more particularly, to a powder container that stores powder, such as cosmetic powder and the like.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional powder container comprises a container body containing a cosmetic powder, such as a pressed powder and the like, and a lid pivotally mounted on the container body to cover the cosmetic powder in the container body. Thus, after the lid is pivoted outward from the container body, the cosmetic powder in the container body is exposed outward for use with a user. However, the user's hand will touch the powder directly, thereby causing a sanitary problem.
- In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a powder container, comprising a hollow container body, a fixed disk mounted on the container body, an adjusting disk rotatably mounted on the fixed disk, and a cover mounted on the container body and surrounding the adjusting disk to cover the adjusting disk and the fixed disk. The container body has an inner portion provided with a receiving chamber. The fixed disk has a solid bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting holes each connected to the receiving chamber of the container body. The fixed disk has an inner portion provided with a mounting chamber to receive the adjusting disk. The mounting chamber of the fixed disk is connected to the connecting holes. The adjusting disk has a solid bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting apertures that are movable to align with the connecting holes of the fixed disk. The adjusting disk has an inner portion provided with a receiving space. The receiving space of the adjusting disk is connected to the connecting apertures.
- The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a powder container that will prevent a user's hand from touching the powder directly.
- According to the primary advantage of the present invention, the powder in the receiving chamber of the container body is allowed to pour outward from the receiving space of the adjusting disk by rotation of the adjusting disk relative to the fixed disk so that the user's hand will not touch the powder directly, thereby achieving a sanitary purpose.
- According to another advantage of the present invention, the rotation shaft of the adjusting disk is rotated in the shaft hole of the fixed disk so that the adjusting disk is rotated relative to the fixed disk exactly and smoothly, thereby facilitating the user operating the powder container.
- According to a further advantage of the present invention, the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk align with the connecting holes of the fixed disk easily and quickly by limit of the limit slots of the adjusting disk and the limit blocks of the fixed disk, thereby facilitating the user using the powder.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1-4 , a powder container in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises ahollow container body 1, a fixeddisk 2 mounted on thecontainer body 1, an adjustingdisk 3 rotatably mounted on thefixed disk 2, and acover 14 mounted on thecontainer body 1 and surrounding the adjustingdisk 3 to cover the adjustingdisk 3 and the fixeddisk 2. - The
container body 1 has an inner portion provided with areceiving chamber 11 to receive and store a determined amount of powder, such as a cosmetic powder and the like. Thecontainer body 1 has an open top provided with anannular mouth 12. Themouth 12 of thecontainer body 1 has an outer wall provided with a plurality of wedge-shaped locking pieces 13. Themouth 12 of thecontainer body 1 has a diameter smaller than that of thecontainer body 1, and thecontainer body 1 has a peripheral wall provided with astop shoulder 15 located under themouth 12 to stop thecover 14. - The fixed
disk 2 is mounted on themouth 12 of thecontainer body 1 and has a peripheral wall provided with a plurality oflocking slots 25 locked onto thelocking pieces 13 of thecontainer body 1 to lock thefixed disk 2 onto thecontainer body 1. Thefixed disk 2 has a solid bottom wall provided with a plurality of connectingholes 24 each connected to thereceiving chamber 11 of thecontainer body 1. Each of the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 has a circular shape. The bottom wall of the fixeddisk 2 is inserted into thereceiving chamber 11 of thecontainer body 1. The fixeddisk 2 has a central portion provided with ashaft hole 23. The connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 are centered at theshaft hole 23 and are arranged in a radiating manner. Thefixed disk 2 has a substantially U-shaped cross-sectional profile and has an inner portion provided with amounting chamber 21 to receive the adjustingdisk 3. Themounting chamber 21 of thefixed disk 2 is connected to the connectingholes 24 so that the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 are connected between thereceiving chamber 11 of thecontainer body 1 and themounting chamber 21 of thefixed disk 2. Thefixed disk 2 has an open top provided with a plurality ofcurved limit blocks 27. Thefixed disk 2 has an outer wall provided with a plurality ofpressing blocks 26 each pressing an inner wall of thecover 14 to limit thecover 14 onto thefixed disk 2. Thefixed disk 2 has an inner wall provided with anannular retaining groove 22. - The adjusting
disk 3 is inserted into themounting chamber 21 of thefixed disk 2 and has a solid bottom wall provided with a plurality of connectingapertures 35 that are movable to align with the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2. Each of the connectingapertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3 has a circular shape. The bottom wall of the adjustingdisk 3 has a surface provided with a plurality ofpositioning bosses 36 that are movable to align with and engage the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2. Each of thepositioning bosses 36 of the adjustingdisk 3 has a circular shape. The adjustingdisk 3 has a central portion provided with arotation shaft 34 rotatably mounted in theshaft hole 23 of the fixeddisk 2 so that the adjustingdisk 3 is rotatable about therotation shaft 34. The connectingapertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3 are centered at therotation shaft 34 and are arranged in a radiating manner. Thepositioning bosses 36 of the adjustingdisk 3 are centered at therotation shaft 34 and are arranged in a radiating manner. The connectingapertures 35 and thepositioning bosses 36 of the adjustingdisk 3 are arranged in a staggered manner. The adjustingdisk 3 has a substantially U-shaped cross-sectional profile and has an inner portion provided with areceiving space 33. Thereceiving space 33 of the adjustingdisk 3 is connected to the connectingapertures 35 so that the connectingapertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3 are connected between the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 and thereceiving space 33 of the adjustingdisk 3. The adjustingdisk 3 has an outer wall provided with anannular retaining rib 37 mounted in theretaining groove 22 of the fixeddisk 2. The adjustingdisk 3 has an open top provided with anannular limit flange 31 which extends radially and outwardly. Thelimit flange 31 of the adjustingdisk 3 has a bottom provided with a plurality ofcurved limit slots 32 slidably mounted on thelimit blocks 27 of thefixed disk 2 respectively. Thelimit flange 31 of the adjustingdisk 3 has a periphery provided with aserrated holding portion 310. - Thus, when the connecting
apertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3 align with the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 respectively, thereceiving chamber 11 of thecontainer body 1 is connected to thereceiving space 33 of the adjustingdisk 3 via the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 and the connectingapertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3. On the contrary, when thepositioning bosses 36 of the adjustingdisk 3 align with and are snapped into the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 respectively, the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 are blocked by the bottom wall of the adjustingdisk 3 to interrupt a connection between the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 and the connectingapertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3 and a connection between thereceiving chamber 11 of thecontainer body 1 and thereceiving space 33 of the adjustingdisk 3. - On the other hand, each of the
limit slots 32 of the adjustingdisk 3 has a first side that is movable to abut a first side of therespective limit block 27 of thefixed disk 2 so that the connectingapertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3 align with the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 respectively as shown inFIGS. 1 and 5 , and has a second side that is movable to abut a second side of therespective limit block 27 of thefixed disk 2 so that the connectingapertures 35 of the adjustingdisk 3 are separated from the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 respectively, and thepositioning bosses 36 of the adjustingdisk 3 align with and are snapped into the connectingholes 24 of thefixed disk 2 respectively as shown inFIGS. 3 and 4 . - The powder container further comprises an
accessory 4 mounted in thecover 14 and removably inserted into thereceiving space 33 of the adjustingdisk 3. Preferably, theaccessory 4 is a powder puff. - In operation, referring to
FIGS. 3-5 with reference toFIGS. 1 and 2 , after thecover 14 is removed from thecontainer body 1, the receivingspace 33 of theadjusting disk 3 is exposed to the ambient environment. Then, theadjusting disk 3 is rotated relative to the fixeddisk 2 until the connectingapertures 35 of theadjusting disk 3 align with the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 respectively as shown inFIGS. 1 and 5 , so that the receivingchamber 11 of thecontainer body 1 is connected to the receivingspace 33 of theadjusting disk 3 via the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 and the connectingapertures 35 of theadjusting disk 3. Thus, the powder in the receivingchamber 11 of thecontainer body 1 in turn flows through the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 and the connectingapertures 35 of theadjusting disk 3 into the receivingspace 33 of theadjusting disk 3 and is poured outward from the receivingspace 33 of theadjusting disk 3 as shown inFIG. 5 for use with a user. On the contrary, theadjusting disk 3 is rotated relative to the fixeddisk 2 until thepositioning bosses 36 of theadjusting disk 3 align with and are snapped into the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 respectively as shown inFIGS. 3 and 4 , so that the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 are blocked by the bottom wall of theadjusting disk 3 to interrupt the connection between the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 and the connectingapertures 35 of theadjusting disk 3 and the connection between the receivingchamber 11 of thecontainer body 1 and the receivingspace 33 of theadjusting disk 3. - Referring to
FIG. 6 , each of the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 has an elongate shape, each of the connectingapertures 35 of theadjusting disk 3 has an elongate shape, and each of thepositioning bosses 36 of theadjusting disk 3 has an elongate shape. - Accordingly, the powder in the receiving
chamber 11 of thecontainer body 1 is allowed to pour outward from the receivingspace 33 of theadjusting disk 3 by rotation of theadjusting disk 3 relative to the fixeddisk 2 so that the user's hand will not touch the powder directly, thereby achieving a sanitary purpose. In addition, therotation shaft 34 of theadjusting disk 3 is rotated in theshaft hole 23 of the fixeddisk 2 so that theadjusting disk 3 is rotated relative to the fixeddisk 2 exactly and smoothly, thereby facilitating the user operating the powder container. Further, the connectingapertures 35 of theadjusting disk 3 align with the connectingholes 24 of the fixeddisk 2 easily and quickly by limit of thelimit slots 32 of theadjusting disk 3 and the limit blocks 27 of the fixeddisk 2, thereby facilitating the user using the powder. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.
Claims (18)
1. A powder container, comprising:
a hollow container body;
a fixed disk mounted on the container body;
an adjusting disk rotatably mounted on the fixed disk; and
a cover mounted on the container body and surrounding the adjusting disk to cover the adjusting disk and the fixed disk;
wherein the container body has an inner portion provided with a receiving chamber;
the fixed disk has a solid bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting holes each connected to the receiving chamber of the container body;
the fixed disk has an inner portion provided with a mounting chamber to receive the adjusting disk;
the mounting chamber of the fixed disk is connected to the connecting holes;
the adjusting disk has a solid bottom wall provided with a plurality of connecting apertures that are movable to align with the connecting holes of the fixed disk;
the adjusting disk has an inner portion provided with a receiving space;
the receiving space of the adjusting disk is connected to the connecting apertures.
2. The powder container of claim 1 , wherein
the fixed disk has a central portion provided with a shaft hole;
the adjusting disk has a central portion provided with a rotation shaft rotatably mounted in the shaft hole of the fixed disk so that the adjusting disk is rotatable about the rotation shaft.
3. The powder container of claim 2 , wherein the bottom wall of the adjusting disk has a surface provided with a plurality of positioning bosses that are movable to align with and engage the connecting holes of the fixed disk.
4. The powder container of claim 2 , wherein
the fixed disk has an inner wall provided with an annular retaining groove;
the adjusting disk has an outer wall provided with an annular retaining rib mounted in the retaining groove of the fixed disk.
5. The powder container of claim 2 , wherein
the fixed disk has an open top provided with a plurality of curved limit blocks;
the adjusting disk has an open top provided with an annular limit flange which extends radially and outwardly;
the limit flange of the adjusting disk has a bottom provided with a plurality of curved limit slots slidably mounted on the limit blocks of the fixed disk respectively.
6. The powder container of claim 1 , wherein
the container body has an open top provided with an annular mouth;
the mouth of the container body has an outer wall provided with a plurality of wedge-shaped locking pieces;
the fixed disk is mounted on the mouth of the container body and has a peripheral wall provided with a plurality of locking slots locked onto the locking pieces of the container body to lock the fixed disk onto the container body.
7. The powder container of claim 1 , wherein the fixed disk has an outer wall provided with a plurality of pressing blocks each pressing an inner wall of the cover to limit the cover onto the fixed disk.
8. The powder container of claim 5 , wherein the limit flange of the adjusting disk has a periphery provided with a serrated holding portion.
9. The powder container of claim 3 , wherein
each of the connecting holes of the fixed disk has a circular shape;
each of the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk has a circular shape;
each of the positioning bosses of the adjusting disk has a circular shape.
10. The powder container of claim 3 , wherein
each of the connecting holes of the fixed disk has an elongate shape;
each of the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk has an elongate shape; and
each of the positioning bosses of the adjusting disk has an elongate shape.
11. The powder container of claim 3 , wherein
the connecting holes of the fixed disk are centered at the shaft hole and are arranged in a radiating manner;
the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk are centered at the rotation shaft and are arranged in a radiating manner;
the positioning bosses of the adjusting disk are centered at the rotation shaft and are arranged in a radiating manner.
12. The powder container of claim 11 , wherein the connecting apertures and the positioning bosses of the adjusting disk are arranged in a staggered manner.
13. The powder container of claim 1 , wherein
the bottom wall of the fixed disk is inserted into the receiving chamber of the container body;
the adjusting disk is inserted into the mounting chamber of the fixed disk.
14. The powder container of claim 1 , wherein
the connecting holes of the fixed disk are connected between the receiving chamber of the container body 1 and the mounting chamber of the fixed disk;
the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk are connected between the connecting holes of the fixed disk and the receiving space of the adjusting disk.
15. The powder container of claim 3 , wherein
when the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk align with the connecting holes of the fixed disk respectively, the receiving chamber of the container body is connected to the receiving space of the adjusting disk via the connecting holes of the fixed disk and the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk;
when the positioning bosses of the adjusting disk align with and are snapped into the connecting holes of the fixed disk respectively, the connecting holes of the fixed disk are blocked by the bottom wall of the adjusting disk to interrupt a connection between the connecting holes of the fixed disk and the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk and a connection between the receiving chamber of the container body and the receiving space of the adjusting disk.
16. The powder container of claim 5 , wherein
each of the limit slots of the adjusting disk has a first side that is movable to abut a first side of the respective limit block of the fixed disk so that the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk align with the connecting holes of the fixed disk respectively;
each of the limit slots of the adjusting disk has a second side that is movable to abut a second side of the respective limit block of the fixed disk so that the connecting apertures of the adjusting disk are separated from the connecting holes of the fixed disk respectively, and the positioning bosses of the adjusting disk align with and are snapped into the connecting holes of the fixed disk respectively.
17. The powder container of claim 1 , wherein the powder container further comprises an accessory mounted in the cover and removably inserted into the receiving space of the adjusting disk.
18. The powder container of claim 6 , wherein
the mouth of the container body has a diameter smaller than that of the container body;
the container body has a peripheral wall provided with a stop shoulder located under the mouth to stop the cover.
