Abstract
A fan assembly includes a fan and a screen. The fan includes a bracket, and an impeller installed in the bracket. The bracket includes two opposite sidewalls each defining an opening aligning with the impeller. A hollow fixing frame is mounted to an outer surface of one of the sidewalls surrounding four sides of the corresponding opening. The fixing frame includes a receiving portion surrounding three of the four sides of the opening, and a cover detachably connected to distal ends of the receiving portion, to surround the last side of the opening. The screen is received in the fixing frame and aligns with the openings.
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to a fan.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Fans are generally installed in an electronic device, to dissipate heat for the electronic device. A finger guard or a dust filter is always mounted to a side of each fan through a plurality of plastic screws. However, these plastic screws are usually small and difficult to handle, and the installation of the finger guard or dust filter to the fans is labor-intensive.
- Many aspects of the present embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present embodiments. Moreover, in the drawing, all the views are schematic, and like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of an exemplary embodiment of a fan. -
FIG. 2 is an assembled, isometric view of the fan ofFIG. 1 , together with a dust filter. -
FIG. 3 is an assembled, isometric view of the fan ofFIG. 1 , together with a finger guard. - The disclosure, including the accompanying drawings, is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
-
FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a fan including amain body 10 and ahollow fixing frame 20. - The
main body 10 includes abracket 12 and animpeller 14 installed in thebracket 12. Thebracket 12 includes twoopposite sidewalls 121. Anopening 123 is defined in eachsidewall 121, aligning with theimpeller 14. - The
fixing frame 20 is mounted to an outer surface of one of thesidewalls 121. Thefixing frame 20 includes a receivingportion 22 surrounding the bottom and two opposite sides of the opening 123 of thesidewall 121, and acover 24 detachably covered on the top of thereceiving portion 22. Thereceiving portion 22 includes twoarms 221 respectively at the opposite sides of the opening 123, and abottom plate 223 connected between the bottom ends of thearms 221 below theopening 123. A longitudinally extendingrecess 225 is defined in an inner surface of eacharm 221 adjoining themain body 10. The top end of eacharm 221 is higher than the opening 123 and lower than the top of thesidewall 121. Alatching slot 227 is defined in the top end of the inner surface of eacharm 221. Thecover 24 includes anelongated plate 243, and twoblocks 241 respectively extending down from opposite ends of the bottom of theplate 243. - Referring to
FIG. 2 , to assemble a first screen, such as adust filter 40 to the fan, opposite sides of thedust filter 40 are respectively inserted into therecesses 225 from the top ends of thearms 221. Thedust filter 40 is slid down along therecesses 225, until the bottom end of the dust filter 40 abuts against thebottom plate 223. Theblocks 241 are respectively engaged in thelatching slots 227. Thereby, thecover 24 is covered on the top of thereceiving portion 22, parallel to thebottom plate 223, with opposite ends of thecover 24 respectively supported on the top ends of thearms 221. - Referring to
FIG. 3 , to assemble a second screen, such as afinger guard 30 to the fan, thecover 24 is detached from thereceiving portion 22, and thedust filter 40 is pulled out of thereceiving portion 22 along therecesses 225. Opposite sides of thefinger guard 30 are respectively inserted into therecesses 225 from the top ends of thearms 221. Thefinger guard 30 is slid down along therecesses 225, until the bottom side of thefinger guard 30 abuts against thebottom plate 223. Theblocks 241 are respectively engaged in thelatching slots 227. Thereby, thecover 24 is covered on the top of thereceiving portion 22. - Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the embodiments have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and the functions of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the embodiments to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
