  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is in the field of games. More particularly, the present invention is in the field of wagering games or head-to-head contest games.
  • In traditional wagering games, the payout of a bet or wager on a particular event depends on the odds set by the game operator. An unlikely event that attracts fewer bets generally carry higher odds and yields a higher payout, which could be multiples of the wager amount.
  • On the other hand, in head-to-head contest games or in wagering games where each individual event has roughly even odds or 50-50 chance of likelihood, a positive outcome generally yields the same amount of payout as the amount of entry fee or wager (less any applicable commissions for fee payable to the game operator).
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention is a method for creating high multiple payouts in head-to-head contest games or in wagering games where each individual event has roughly even odds or 50-50 percent chance of likelihood.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • No drawing is necessary to understand or implement the invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • Without adjusting the odds of such a head-to-head contest game or wagering game with even bets, which would greatly complicate the user interface of the game and require the game operator to act as a market maker, the present invention would allow the possibility of high multiple payoffs by using streaks of victories as an additional factor.
  • Specifically, a game operator could allow a player to choose a high multiple payout option by conditioning the payout amount on a required steak of victories. In standard sports betting users can find high odds bets, but this option lets players effectively achieve those odds while retaining the simple interface of even bets, and allowing players to play across multiple bets and multiple sports in any combination or progression of their own choice.
  • Alternatively, a game operator could give out rewards (in cash, merchandise, virtual currency or goods) or automatically increase the payout amount for a player based on successful completion of a given streak or progression of consecutive victories. Such a method would provide incentives for players to play more to either increase their streak or begin a new one. The game operator could compile performance statistics to determine the levels of high performance that should be rewarded and the amount of appropriate rewards. By using the statistics of average win percentage, the game operator can adjust the streak lengths and corresponding rewards in the payout schedule to achieve the desired level of difficulty and incentives.
  • While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.

Claims (3)

We claim:
1. A new method to allow the possibility of high multiple payoffs by using streaks of victories as an additional factor, wherein a game operator could allow a player to choose a high multiple payout option by conditioning the payout amount on a required steak of victories.
2. A new method to allow the possibility of high multiple payoffs by using streaks of victories as an additional factor, wherein a game operator could give out rewards (in cash, merchandise, virtual currency or goods) or automatically increase the payout amount for a player based on successful completion of a given streak, or progression of consecutive victories.
3. A new method to allow the possibility of high multiple payoffs by using streaks of victories as an additional factor, wherein a game operator could compile performance statistics to determine the levels of high performance that should be rewarded and the amount of appropriate rewards that would best match the desired level of difficulty and incentives.
