are misplacedduring the setting of the steel. Such devices are frequently located in narrow or otherwise constricted spaces and this, as well as considerations of economy, make it necessary that the entire device, including-the flange, be relatively narrow. It'is frequently desirable that the devices be positioned exactly perpendicular to or at some definite selected inclination to the face of the Wall or beam in which the devices are embedded. The fastening of an elongated unitary device to a form by driving nails through anend flange is obviously difiicult and is also time consuming. In many instances, a. plurality of'such devices are provided-as a support for a single apparatus thereby making it necessary that the devices be accurately spaced and aligned. The location of the devices is indicated by marking the form in any suitable manner and exact spacing of the device requires that the individual devices be exactly positioned over the marks indicating their location. Obviously, the exact centering of an elongated unitary device over such a mark is also difficult and time consuming, particularly with devices not having a'continuous longitudinal bore.
The above described difficulties inherent in exactly locating unitary inserts on forms of concrete or'similar structures are eliminated by providing an insert device consisting of a centrally aperturedflange member adapted to be exactly positioned and securely fastened to the form before reinforcing steel is set, and a hollow elongated stem or body member adapted to be atbe quickly and easily fastened to the form and offers no obstacles to the placing of the reinforcement. The flange is preferably constructed of non-corrosive metal and the stem or body portion may be constructed ,of steel or other, mate rial providing the requisite strength and of relatively small diameter or lateral dimensions such that it does not interfere with the placing of the reinforcing steel.
It is 'an object of the invention to provide insert devices as an assembly of two members of the kind described whereby such devices are adapted to be located with exactness and facility. in any selected position on a form and may be quickly and easily fastened to the form by the use of any ordinary tool such as a hammer. 1
Another object of the invention is the provision of improved insert devices of the kind described which are adapted to be mounted on-a form without interfering with the placing of reinforcing material.
A further object of the invention is the provision of a device of the kind described which is inexpensive to manufacture, durable, simple'in construction and satisfactory for its intended.

To this end my invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement and combination of parts herein shown and described and more particularly pointed out in the claims.

Having thus described my invention, 'it is obvious that various immaterial modifications may be made in the same without departing from the spirit of my invention; hence I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the exact form, construction, arrangement, and combination of parts herein shown and described or uses mentioned. 7
