IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED TABLE, SINK, 86C- Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 214,271, dated April 15, 1879; application filed September 18, 1878.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ANNA ZtiNnoRFF, of New York city, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements i Combination Table, Sink, 850.; and Ido hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same,-reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters ofreference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

The object of my invention is to produce a combined side, card, or work table, diningtable, sink, and receptacle for pails and washing-utensils and it consists in the contruction and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described, and specifically pointed out in the claim, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon.

In the drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my combination-table with the leaves extended. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal vertical section of the same. Fig. 3 is a transverse vertical section thereof. Fig.4 is a view of the supporting-arm for the side leaf of the table.

In the drawings, A represents the main frame of the table, supported by the legs B, of the ordinary construction. The frame A is provided with a bottom, a, which, as Well as the sides thereof, is lined with zinc or other suitable material, to make it water-tight.

The hole b serves as an outletfor the water when the dishes have been washed.

In one corner of the frame is arranged a receptacle, a, for soap, soda, &c.

To the ends of the frame A are attached two leaves, 0 D, and form the top of the table when closed. The leaf (J is provided with two cleats, c c, on its sides and a brace, 01, at the bottom, and when the dishes are to be washed this leaf is supported in a slightlyinclined position by a hinged spring-bar, E, secured to the end of the frame.

The side leaf F, which is hinged to the frame A, is supported by a revolving springarm, G, (best seen in Figs. 3 and 4,) held in place by the brackets e f,. and has a detent, g, to prevent it from revolving too far by the action of the spring h. There may be another leaf on the other side, if desired. Attached to the bottom of the frame is a receptacle, H, in which may be placed a pail or bucket to catch the Waste water near one end, while the other end may serve to keep wash-rags, brushes, &c., in it. This receptacle is provided at each end with a door, 1' k, and an air-holein its upper side to allow for circulation of air.

When the table is to be used as a side or card table, the upper leaves are closed and the side leaf let down. When it is to be used foradining-table, the side leaf is raised. When it is desired to wash the dishes, the upper leaves are opened, the dishes are placed on leaf D, and,after being washed, on leaf 0, where the water can run off and through the hole 1) into the pail or bucket in the receptacle.

The advantages are that my apparatus is very simplein construction and not liable to get out of order. It can readily be applied to any common kitcl1en-table. It serves in different capacitiessuch as side, card, dining or kitchen table, as Well as sink and waste-Water receptacle. It can be furnished at a very moderate cost. It can be made of any desired size and shape, and plain or ornamental, as desired.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

As a new article of manufacture, the device herein described, consisting of the receptacle H, legs B, sink A a a 1), leaves 0 D F, and their hinges and supporting devices, arranged together as shown, whereby is formed an interchangeable table, sink, and drawer, as and for the purposes set forth.
