Roland. Hoyt Sloan, New BrightomN. Y. Application April 5, 1940, Serial No. 327,934
Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the character described so constructed and arranged that different units of sales or other material may be conveniently stored and may be readily and quickly mounted for presentation.
Further objects of the invention will appear from the following specification taken in connection with the drawings which form a part of this application, and in which Fig. 1 is a perspective View illustrating a presentation kit constructed in accordance with the invention;
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional elevation through the main body or receptacle portion of the kit, the panels for supporting the exhibit sheets or material being shown in elevated position;
Fig. 3 is a view similar to Fig. 2 but showing the panels in folded position; and
Fig. 4 is a perspective elevation showing the kit closed.
In the form of the invention illustrated, the presentation kit consists of a main body portion or receptacle I in which is slidably mounted a drawer H having a plurality of partitions l2 for receiving presentation units hereinafter described. The drawer has a front cover l3 which can be held in elevated or closed position by any suitable form of latch, such as that shown at 14.
The presentation kit may be provided with any desired number of foldable sections and, as shown in Fig. 1, there is a leaf or section l5 which is connected to the main body portion I0 by a spacer l5. The section l5 forms the base for a plurality of rings IS on which are mounted leaves l1. These leaves may contain any desired form of sales presentation material and they may, if desired, be correlated with the material on the presentation unit.
The leaf I 8 is hingedly connected to and extends longitudinally away from the leaf l5 and is provided with a pocket IQ for receiving} any" desired material.
At the other side of the main body portion or receptacle Hi there are provided a pair of leaves 20 and 2!, the leaf 2!! being connected tothe base of the body portion I!) by a spacer 22.
The leaf 20 is provided with panels 23 and Z i which are hingedly connected at 25. Panel 23 is hinged at 26 to'leaf 20 and a stop 2'! engages the lower end of panel 24'. Bar 28 on leaf 20 forms a support for papers which rest against panel 23.
The hinged leaf 2!" base pocket 29". The body portion or receptacle H) has atop 30 which forms the support for a turn table sheet3l which is detachably and pivotally connected-to-the support 30 b'ya connection 32. The turn table sheet 3! may be rotated in a plane parallel to the plane of the support 30 to any desired position so that exhibit sheets on either side of the supporting panels can be shown.
Along the rear edge of the turn table sheet 3| there is pivotally mounted a panel 33, springs 34 being provided at this hinged connection for normally raising the panel 33 to elevated position.
At this upper edge the panel 33 has pivotally connected thereto a panel 35, rings 36 being provided at the junction of the panels 33 and 35 for receiving exhibit sheets 31. These sheets can be swung from one side to the other of the supporting panels. For instance, the material on the front of the sheets viewing Fig. loan 'be shown and after they are shown the sheets can be swung around to a position against the rear panel 33. The turn table can then be reversed or swung through and the material on the opposite sides of the sheets can be exhibited.
In order to spread the panels 33 and 35 to separated or open position, the following means is provided between the panels. Members 40 and ll are hingedly connected to the bottoms of the panels 33 and 35 and suitable resilient means is connected to the members 40 and 4| to spring these members apart or spread them to open position when the panel 33 is raised by the springs 34. In the form of the invention illustrated, this resilient connecting means between the members 43 and 4| consists of an elastic strip or band G2 which is secured at 43 and 44 to the members Ali and 4|, in stretched position.
connections of these members to the panels 33 and 35. The elastic band 42 tends to move the membersdll and 4| downwardly into the same plane thereby forcing the lower ends of the panels 33 and 35 apart. Furthermore, the limit of spreading movement is determined by the members 40 and 4|.
It will be noted that the presentation unit, which comprises the turn table sheet 3|, panels 33 and 35 and parts carried thereby, is detachable from a support 30 and can be easily and quickly detached and placed in one of the sections of the drawer l I. Thereupon a different unit can be attached to the support 30 and presented in the manner hereinbefore described.
When the presentation has been completed the unit can be folded downwardly and the laterally extending leaves can be folded inwardly and over the top of the folded unit, thereby closing the kit, as shown in Fig. 4. The kit can be secured in closed position by means of a strap 41 and a snap fastener 48, 49, or in any other suitable manner.
From the foregoing specification it will be evident that a simple, practical and compact presentation kit has been designed and that the use of the kit will enable the user to present easily and quicklydifierent sets of presentation material.
Although one specific embodiment of the invention has been particularly shown and described, it will be understood that the invention is capable of modification and that changes in the construction and in the arrangement of the various cooperating parts may be made with- V out departing from the spirit and. scope of the invention, as expressed in the following claims.
What I claim is:
l. A salesmens presentation kit comprising a support, a flat turn table sheet pivoted on said support, a panel pivoted along one edge to said turn table sheet, a second panel pivoted to said first panel, means at the junction of said panels for pivotally supporting exhibit sheets, and resilient means between said panels for spreading said panels apart about their pivotal connection and for limiting the spreading movement.
2. A salesmens presentation kit comprising a receptacle having compartments for storing presentation units, the top of the receptacle forming a support, each unit comprising a flat turn table sheet adapted to be pivoted on said support by a detachable pivotal connection, including coacting means on the sheet and support, a panel pivoted along one edge to said turn table sheet, a second panel pivoted to the outer edge of said first panel, means at the junction of said panels for pivotally supporting exhibit sheets, and means between said panels for spreading said panels apart about their pivotal connection and for limiting the spreading movement.
3. A salesmens presentation kit comprising a support, a flat turn table sheet pivoted on said support, a panel pivoted along one edge to said turn table sheet, a second panel pivoted to the outer edge of said first panel, means at the junction of said panels for pivotally supporting exhibit sheets, and. automatically acting, resilient means between said panels for spreading said panels apart about their pivotal connection and for limiting the spreading movement.
