My invention relates to game apparatus and has particular relation to game apparatus for playing a game of the Lotto type by radio.

My invention relates to cards of the Lotto type which are distributed by a radio broadcasting station or its sponsor among the listening public and among the audience at a broadcast. Numbers drawn at random are broadcast and the players indicate on their cards the numbers drawn. Prizes are awarded to those players on Whose cards the called numbers present a predetermined pattern. For example, the predetermined pattern may constitute any row or diagonal column on a card or it may constitute all of the spaces on the card.

A problem arises in properly indicating on the cards the numbers which have been called. The practice of indicating these numbers by tokens disposed on the spaces corresponding to the numbers called is unsatisfactory. Since the tokens will fall 0H when the card is moved, the verification of the cards will prove difficult. In accordance with the teachings of the prior art of which I am aware, removable tabs are provided in the spaces corresponding to the number. When a number is called, the tab corresponding to this number is removed by inserting the thumb nail under the edge of the tab and tearing it olif. Such manipulation is diificult particularly for people having close-cut nails. A player holding a card of this type may, by reason of ineptness, delay removal of the tab until the successive number is called. In the resulting confusion he may then remove an incorrect tab for the latter number. If, by reason of such incorrect removal, the player completes a pattern, the station or the sponsor will be subjected to embarrassment.

It is, accordingly, an object of my invention to provide a card particularly suitable for marking the numbers called out by a radio announcer in the playing of a game `of the Lotto type by radio.

Another object of my invention is to provide a card of the Lotto type with facilities for indicating promptly and unambiguously the number called.

A further object of my invention is to provide a card of the Lotto type having facilities requiring little manipulatory skill for indicating the numbers called.

In accordance with my invention, I provide a card of the Lotto type, which has in the center of each square corresponding to a number, a section enclosed in a perforated curve, preferably a circle. The dimension of the area enclosed is,

2 sumciently large to enable a player to remove it by pressing it with a finger and breaking the card material at the perforations.

The novel features that I consider characteristic of my invention are set forth with particularity in the appended claim. My invention itself, however, both as to its organization and its method of operation, together with additional objects and advantages thereof, will best be understood from the following description of a specic embodiment when read in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which the single figure is a View in top elevation of a card in accordance with my invention.

The game apparatus shown in the drawing comprises a card I, preferably of card board, having a rectangular form. The surface of the card l is subdivided in the small areas 3, preferably squares. The squares are arranged in columns and rows. In the card l shown in the drawing, the small squares 3 form a large square seven squares on a side.

Each small square 3 is identified by a number. The number is printed in small type at the corners 5 of each of the squares 3 and in large type at the center 1. The numbers at the center of each square are enclosed in a circle 9 which is formed by a plurality of perforations with solid sections interposed between the perforations.

In playing the game, the holder of a card presses out the circle 9 enclosed by perforations with his finger or thumb when a number impressed on a square 3 on his card I is called leaving the hole I l. The winning card is one in which circles corresponding to a predetermined pattern on the card are pressed out. A player having a card of this type may submit the card to the radio station or to the sponsor and collect the prize. The attendant who pays out the prize may verify the propriety of the card by checking the numbers in the corners `of the perforated squares. I-Ie may also require that the winner produce the number bearing circles 9 which have been pressed out and may verify these against a series of reference numbers.

While I have shown and described a certain specific embodiment of my invention, many modifications thereof are, possible. My invention, therefore, is not to be restricted except insofar as is necessitated by the prior art and by the spirit of the appended claim.
