This invention relates to improvements in telephone holders.

An object of the invention is to provide an improved form of telephone holder whichwill be positively attached to the receiver portion of a telephone hand set, and will include a head band adapted to extend over a persons head for supporting the receiver directly over an ear, and the mouthpiece or transmitter directly in front of the users mouth. I

Another object of the invention is to provide an improved telephone holder for supporting a telephone hand set in position for being supported by the hand, or for being supported by a pivoted head band adapted to be positioned over the head of a wearer so that both hands may be left free while carrying on a telephone conversation.

A further object of the invention is to provide an improved telephone holder including a supporting band adapted to be secured in any desired manner to the receiver of a telephone hand set, and having an arcuate head band pivoted thereon adapted to be swung back of thehand portion of the telephone hand set when the hand set is to be supported in a hand, and said head band being adapted to pivot outwardly so that the same may be readily supported upon the head of a user with the ear portion of a hand set directly overlying the ear of the user and the transmitter or mouthpiece of the transmitter being disposed immediately in front of the user's mouth, whereby both hands will be left free for writing purposes or for performing any other operation requiring the use of both hands.

Another object of the invention is to provide an improved telephone holder for a telephone hand set including a circular supporting band which may be formed either continuously or split and provided with cooperating outwardly extending ears which are suitably apertured for supporting a locking bolt, whereby either the old type hand set or the modern head set may be readily supported by means of a pivoted arcuate hand band disposed upon said supporting ring.

A still further object of the invention is to provide an improved telephone holder for either attaching to a telephone hand set or for forming integrally therewith, the same including a pivoted head band for supporting said hand set upon the head of a wearer, and being highly efficient in operation, and relatively inexpensive to manulacture and produce.

In carrying out the invention, there is provided an improved form of telephone holder including a supporting ring preferably made of plastic, being generally designated by the reference numeral I, and formed with an annularly disposed internal supporting seat 2, and an integrally formed ofiset supporting stub arm 3 which is formed with an aperture (not shown) for purposes hereinafter more fully described.

An arcuate plastic head band 4 is provided, and is formed at one end with an ofl'set flat attaching end 5, which is provided with an aperture (not shown), and is adapted to be disposed upon the ofiset supporting stub arm 3 with said apertures aligned to receive a bolt 6 for securing said parts together and for permitting relative rotational movement between the same.

The opposite or outer end of the arcuate plastic head band 4 is formed with a V-notch 1, which is adapted to engage and seat over the handle portion 8 of a telephone hand set when the arcuate head band is moved to overlie said handle, at which time the hand set will be supported by a hand in the usual manner.

When the telephone holder is to be used with a modern telephone hand set, the supporting ring I will be mounted upon the receiver 9 of the hand set by removing the cap Hi from said receiver and placing the receiver within the supporting ring I, after which the cap ID will be replaced upon 3 the receiver and screwed tight, thereby securing the receiver upon the annularly disposed internal supporting seat in said supporting ring I.

When the head band 4 is disposed in extended position, and is placed over the head of a wearer, as illustrated in Figure 1 of the drawings, the receiver will snugly cover the ear of the wearer, and the mouthpiece or transmitter l I will be disposed directly in front of the wearer's mouth in position where it may be easily spoken into;

In locations where the old type hand sets are employed, it will be necessary to utilize a split supporting band illustrated in Figure 4 ofthe drawings, and comprising the band f2 which is formed with the integral ofiset supporting stub 1 arm l3 which is apertured at [4, and the split terminal ends of said band extend l'ateral-l'y' of the hand set (not shown) to provide the opposite laterally extending apertured cars 15' and f6, through which the clamping bolt I1 is adapted to extend, for securely clamping the split in position. a a

It will be understood that the improved telephone holder while preferably made of plastic, may readily bemade-frdiifbone or hard rubber, or from any other suitable lightweight material, but preferably from a materiai is a rion cond-uc'tor of electricity.

While the preferred embodiment of the instant invention has been illustrated and described, it will be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention thereto, except as limited by the scope of the appended claim, as minor changes in detail of construction may be resorted to without departure from the spirit of the invention.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:

In combination with a telephone hand set having a handle portion with a receiver at one end and a transmitter at the opposite end thereof, of a holder therefor comprising a supporting ring adapted to be secured to said receiver having an offset supporting stub arm, an arcuate head band formed with a stub arm at one end, and having a V hot'ch formed iii its opposite end, means for securing said stub arms together for relative rotary movement, said head b nd being adapted to be moved to extended position for supporting the same ovi a Ware'rs' head, Said head ba'r'id bein rotatable to overlie the handle portion of said telephone hand set with the v=notch in en'- gageiiient with said handle portion when said hand set is to be supported b a hand.
