SACHET HOLDER Filed Oct. 22, 1948 Floyd Logue Patented May 29,- 1951 UNITED STATES .()FF[(1E SACHET HULDER V Floyd Logue, shelbyvill fi l... 7 Application October 22, 1948SerialN55917 1 1 Claim.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements and structural refinement in holders for sachets, and the principal object of the invention is to provide a holder for a plurality of difierently fragranted sachets, together with means for selectively and individually exposing the different sachets for scent radiation.
This object is achieved by the provision of a holder including a receptacle having a, plurality of compartments each accommodatin a sachet of a different fragrance, and an important feature of the invention involves the provision of a rotatable cover on this receptacle, matters being so arranged that upon rotation of the cover, the various sachets may be selectively and individually exposed for scent radiation, as aforesaid.
Another feature of the invention resides in the provision of means for retaining the sachets in their respective compartments, while a further feature lies in the provision of means for attaching the holder to suitable supporting structure, such as for example, clothing, and the like.
Some of the advantages of the invention reside in its simplicity of construction, in its pleasing yet simple appearance, and in its adaptability to economical manufacture.
With the above more important objects and features in view and such other objects and features as may become apparent as this specification proceeds, the invention consists essentially of the construction and arrangement of parts as shown in the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a front perspective view of the invention;
Figure 2 is a rear perspective view thereof;
Figure 3 is a group perspective view showing the receptacle separated from its cover, and;
Figure 4 is a transverse cross sectional view of the invention.
Like characters of reference are employed to designate like parts in the specification and throughout the several views.
Referring now to the accompanying drawings in detail, the invention consists of a sachet holder designated generally by the reference character I 0, the same embodying in its construction a substantially circular receptacle l2 including a peripheral wall M, the receptacle l2 being provided with a plurality of radially extending partitions l6 separating it into a plurality of sachet receiving compartments l8, as will be clearly apparent.
The receptacle I2 is provided with a somewhat conveXo-concave cover 20 which, in turn, is equipped with a peripheral flange 22, and it is 2 to be noted that the cover 20 is rotatably and removably positionable on the receptacle I2 with the flange 22 slidably engaging the peripheral wall 14 of the receptacle, as is best shown in Figure 4.
The peripheral wall I4 is provided with a plurality of opening 24 each communicating with one of the compartments l-8, while the flange 22 of the cover 20 is formed with a recess 26, best shown in Figure 3. The portions of the peripheral lwall l4 between the adjacent openings 24 are somewhat greater in length than the recess 26, so that by simply rotating the cover '20 on the receptacle [2, the recess 26 may be brought in register selectively and individually with the various openings 24 and with the respective compartments with which these openings communicate, as will be clearly apparent. By virtue of this arrangement, when the invention is placed in use sachets of different fragrance may be placed in the various compartments and by simply rotating the cover as aforesaid, a, sachet of the desired fragrance may be selected to exclusively radiate its scent. Moreover, by rotating the cover 20 so that the recess 26 does not register with any one of the openings 24, the openings of all the compartments are closed and the radiation of fragrance from the sachets is not permitted.
In order to prevent the sachets in the different compartments from rubbing against the flange 22 while the cover 20 is rotated, a plurality 0f upstanding keeper pins 21 may be se cured to the receptacle l2 in the openings 24, substantially as shown.
Moreover, in order to facilitate attachment of the entire holder to suitablesupporting structure, such as for example, clothing, or the like, the back surface of the receptacle l2 may be equipped with a resilient clip, such as is indicated at 28 in Figure 2.
It is believed that the advantages and use of the invention will be clearly apparent from the foregoing disclosure and accordingly, further description thereof at this point is deemed unnecessary.
While in the foregoing there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that minor changes in the details of construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.
Having described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
A sachet holder comprising circular receptacle having a bottom and a plurality of circumferentially spaced arcuate side wall portions extending upwardly from said bottom, a plurality of partitions provided on said bottom and extending radially from the center thereof to the midpoints of the respective sidewall portions whereby to separate said receptacle into a plurality of sector-shaped sachet receiving compartments each bordered at its outer edge by halves of adjacent side wall portions defining an elongated opening between their spaced opposing edges, an armate row of spaced sachet retaining pins secured to said bottom and extending upwardly in the opening of each compartment, and a circular cover rotatably positioned on said receptacle and including a top and a depending marginal flange slidable circumferentially on the (outer surfaces of said side wall portions and sachet retaining pins, said flange being provided with an elongated recess registerable selectively with the openings of the respective compartments by the rotation of said cover.
