1 Claim.
The present invention is directed to improvements in brassieres.
The primary object of the invention is to provide a brassire having a pocket formed between the breast cups, and in which money or other articles of value may be placed.
A further object of the invention is to provide a brassire wherein the pocket is so placed as to in no way cause discomfort to the wearer, the construction being such that access to the contents of the pocket are accessible upon manipulating a conventional slide fastener.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a brassire wherein the pocket will in no way detract from the neat appearance thereof.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists of certain novel details of construction and combinations of parts hereinafter more fully described and pointed out in the claim, it being understood that changes may be made in the construction and arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of the invention as claimed.
In the drawing:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the brassiere showing the same upon the body.
Fig. 2 is a fragmentary front view.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view on line 33 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the drawing, the reference character l designates the front section including the usual breast pockets 2--2, said front section having secured thereto the usual body engaging band 3, and shoulder engaging straps 4.
The front section I includes a section 5 consisting of a front section 6 and inner section 1, so arranged as to provide a pocket 8 therebetween.
The front section 6 is divided for a certain distance of its length and disposed between these sections is a slide fastener 9 of convenient construction.
The edges of the front section 6 and inner section I are sewed to the body engaging band 3 by stitchings l0.
In this manner the contents of the pocket 8 are readily accessible upon manipulating the usual slide l l of the fastener 9.
The body of the brassiere is formed from any suitable fabric, and the presence of the pockets 8 will in no way interfere with the comfort of the wearer.
Access to the pocket 8 can be readily had upon manipulating the slide fastener 9, and the presence of the pocket will in no way detract from the neat appearance of the brassiere.
What is claimed is:
A brassiere comprising a body-embracing member, spaced breast receiving pockets carried by said body-embracing member, a panel of flexible material carried by said body-embracing member and extending between said breast receiving pockets, opposite side edges of said panel diverging as they recede from the top thereof and following the contour of the breast receiving pockets to form a pocket between the breast receiving pockets, said panel having a vertically disposed slit therein extending from the top edge thereof to a point above the lowermost portions of the breast receiving pockets, and means carried by and lying between adjacent edges of the slit for closing said slit.
