A47g 7/00, 23/02, 29/00 U.S. C]. 248-152 3 Claims ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A stiff tray board base, made out of corrugated fiberboard or plastic sheet, and a stifliy pliable wrapper having its middle portion secured to the base and being foldable away from the base and about an object to be carried, such as a vase or flower pot, the pliable wrapper being heavy metal foil of such stiffness as to hold the shape to which it is folded and immobilize the vase or pot relative to the base.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION A base 1 is formed of a stiff sheet of material such as corrugated fiberboard or rigid plastic so as to form a tray board for handling, carrying and transporting articles.
A sheet of stifl but pliant material of suflicient stiffness to firmly remain in any folded attitude, forms a foldable retainer 2. In the illustrative embodiment herein the foldable retainer 2 is made of heavy metal foil of sufficient stiflness to fixedly support a receptacle in upright position on the base when wrapped about such receptacle.
The foldable retainer 2 is a generally rectangular sheet and has its middle portion 3 attached to the middle of the base 1 by suitable means such as staples or adhesive cement, for instance epoxy. The area of this attached middle portion 3 is flat on said base.

As shown in FIG. 2, the foldable retainer 2 is folded up and wrapped around a flower vase 4, which usually holds flowers and Water. By pressing the metal foil against the vase 4, the latter is immobilized on the middle portion 3 relatively to the base 1.
In FIG. 3, the support of a pot 5 is illustrated.
In all instances the vase or pot can be handled, transported in a vehicle, and delivered on the base 1 as a tray board, obviating topling or spilling relatively to the base 1. After delivery the recipient unfolds the metal foil wrapper, removes the vase and disposes of the disposable carrier.
This particular device can be easily stacked and stored because the metal foil of the foldable retainer sheet is laid flat on the base for storage when out of use. In the present illustration the metal foil is of the same size and outline as the base 1 so as to present a flat sheet for stacking and storage.
I claim:
1. A carrying device for a receptacle comprising (a) a rigid sheet forming a tray base,
(b) a fiat continuous pliant Wrapper covering said base, the middle portion of said wrapper being flatly secured to the middle portion of said base thereby to form a flat surface for the bottom of said receptacle, and the outer portions of said wrapper being pliantly foldable away from said base and being capable of being Wrapped around said receptacle,
(0) said pliant wrapper being of suflicient stilfness to hold and immobilize said vase on said base.
2. The invention defined in claim 1, and
(d) said pliant wrapper being made of heavy metal foil.
3. The invention defined in claim 1, and
(d) said pliant wrapper being of heavy metal foil initially flat upon said rigid sheet, and having its middle portion secured to said base.
