FLOOR MOUNTED BOOTH BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Known booths generally include a table and seats which are separately supported adjacent to said table.
The general object of this invention is to pfovide an improved structure for a booth in which the table and the chairs are all mounted upon a single supporting base member to provide a complete booth as a self-contained unit which may be installed in a desired position upon a supporting surface.
A further object is the provision of a novel structure for such a booth in which the said supporting base is in the form of a U-shaped member having a flat bottom portion which can be mounted in a desired position upon the surface of a floor to support the entire booth as a complete unit.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is an isometric view showing the structure of the frame for my improved booth;
FIG. 2 is an isometric view of the complete booth",
FIG. 3 is an isometric view of a portion of the supporting base showing a modified form thereof having a reinforcing plate;
FIG. 4 is an isometric view with the reinforcing plate removed.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION As shown in the drawing, the said booth includes a frame having a U-shaped supporting base member 5 constructed of suitable sheet metal and having space vertical side portions 6-6 and a flat bottom portion 7.
Seat-supporting bars 8-8 are secured at the upper ends of said side portions 6-6 and have end portions 9-9 extending oppositely from said side portions and each of said end portions 9-9 has a horizontally disposed seat-mounting plate 10 secured thereto.
A vertical table-supporting post 11 is secured to the bottom portion 7 of the base member intermediate the side portions 6-6 and said post has a table-mounting plate 12 secured to the top end thereof.
As shown inFlG. 2, seats 13-13 are mounted upon the plates 10-10 of each of the bars 9-9 and secured thereto by screws inserted through the holes 14 therein and a table 15 is mounted upon the plate 12, thereby forming a complete selfcontained booth unit.
The said unit may be installed in any desired location upon the surface of a floor and fastened thereto with screws inserted through holes 16 in the bottom portion 7 of the base 5. If desired a carpet or other floor covering 16 may be laid over the bottom portion 7, as illustrated, to thereby present a clean and pleasing appearance to the booth.
In the modified form shows in FIGS. 3 and 4, the side portions 6-6 are reinforced by flanges 17-17, on the outer side thereof, upon which rests a tubular seat-supporting bar 18, and an L-shaped plate 19 detachably secured against the outer edges of said flanges and tubular bar. The said plate 19 having a foot portion 20 which may be secured to the floor whereby the said plate will greatly reinforce the side portions 6-6 against flexing. Also, said modified structure will permit disassembling of the base unit for more convenient packing and ing a U-sha ed member with vertical side portions and a flat bottom po 1011 adapted to rest upon a floor, seat-supporting projections on said side portions extending laterally therefrom, a table-supporting post secured to said bottom portion and extending vertically therefrom intermediate said side portions, a table mounted upon said post, and seats mounted upon said projections, said projections being provided by opposite end portions of bar secured to said side portions.
3. The subject matter set forth in claim 2, including a mounting plate for the table upon said post and mounting plates upon said extensions for the seats.
4. A booth comprising a self-contained unit including a table and a plurality of seats mounted upon a frame, said frame including a U-shaped base member of sheet metal having vertical side portions supporting the seats, a flat bottom portion resting upon a floor surface to support said unit, and a vertical post on said bottom portion for supporting said table, said flat bottom portion being covered by a covering laid over said floor surface.
5. A floor-mounted booth including a supporting frame having a U-shaped base member with vertical side portions and a flat bottom portion adapted to rest upon a floor surface, each of said side portions having reinforcing flanges on the outer side thereof, an L-shaped reinforcing plate detachably secured against said flanges and having a foot portion adapted to rest upon said floor surface, a seat-supporting bar detachably mounted upon said flanges between said plate and side portion, said bar having end portions projecting beyond the sides of said side portions and plates, a vertical post upon said bottom portion, a table mounted upon said post, and seats mounted upon said end portions.
