E/ibs J Marvis J2 HOOKED STICK FIGURE AND HANDLE FOR CATCIIING AND PROJECTING SAME This invention relates to toys, and more particularly to a combination for exercise and amusement.
It is therefore the primary purpose of this invention to provide a toy which will include a U shaped handle member, the handle member having a thickness of body for easily gripping with the hands the leg portions of the handle having a hook for engaging the various apendiges of the animated figure, the animated figure being shaped to appear as a person or animal of various types.
A further object of this invention is to provide a toy of the type described which may also be played as a game, with several competing.
Other objects of the present invention are to provide a toy which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.
These and other objects will become readily evident upon a study of the following specification together with the accompanying drawing wherein.
FIG. 1 is a vertical view of an animated figure shown in elevation;
FIG. 2 is a side view of the handle for manipulating the animated figure shown in FIG. 1; and
FIG. 3 is an end view of FIG. 2 shown in the hand removed therefrom.
According to this invention, an animated FIG. is shown to include a stick body 11 having angularly extending arms 12 which include hook like hands 13. At the lower portion of stick body 11, are similarly positioned leg members having hooked feet 15.
It shall be noted that the bend portions of hands 13 and feet 15 of FIG. 10 may be rounded for safety purposes.
A handle member 16 as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 of the drawing, is shown to include a flat portion 17 which has extending parallel legs 18, the ends of the legs 18 terminating as U shaped hooks 19 for the purpose which hereinafter will be described. A persons hand 20 grippingly engages the flat portion 17 of handles 16 in order to manipulate FIG. 10. The hooks 19 of legs 18 of handle 16 may be used to engage the hands 13, the feet 15, or any other portion of FIG. 10 so as to toss it with a swinging motion and then catch it again.
What I now claim is:
1. A toy comprising in combination, a plurality of stick-like figures, each one of said figures including a stick-like stem to which a plurality of arms and legs are attached, said arms and legs extending in a radial direction around said central stem, the outer ends of said arms and legs being hook configurated so to form a circle of hooks around said central stem, said hooks representing hands and feet of said arms and legs respectively, and a separate handle member for use with said figures, said separate handle comprising a U-shaped member having parallel, spaced apart legs which are interconnected at their one ends by an intermediate section which is adaptable for being grasped by a person's hands, and the o posite end of said legs each being configurated into a hook, said books of said handle member being adaptable for catching the hooks of said stick-like figures.
